You go around the threads with people complaining about combo decks and you're probably going to see this little thing:
Aggro beats combo, combo beats control, control beats aggro
And although it doesn't work that way all the time that's the general understanding, however dirty rat changed that entire thing around, it gave slower decks a way to counter combo decks making them more viable, which didn't work every time, like the old standard, but it still gave a slight chance. Some argue that having a disrupt card like dirty rat isn't fair, that it's not fair to just take a card out of your opponent's hand without warning. But a lot of things aren't necessarily fair in this game, druid ramp isn't fair, vanish/sap isn't fair sometimes, most of the deathknights aren't "fair", so what is fair in a game where in the upcoming expansion warlock can just play a card that destroys half of both decks? I think that there shouldn't be a need to define fairness, hearthstone is a random chance game, you win some you lose some. So i think that we should have a disruption card to counter combo decks just like aggro needs cards that counter control decks(void ripper/mossy horror), just like combo and control need sustain against aggro decks(warlock&druid spellstone/spreading cancer/mage's endless boardclearbullshit) It's a natural conclusion.
Right now there's three ways to beat combo decks, disruption warlock, where you try to change their key combo pieces into useless 0/1 stealth demons, and azalina warrior(that only beats shudderwock not maly), where you need to WAIT UNTIL AFTER THEY COMBO YOU to steal their hand and combo them back, and hope you've played enough battlecries to not die to them before they kill you with the combo they've built their entire deck around. And aggro.......and it doesn't even do it most of the time.
This isn't a plea for dirty rat specifically to be in the classic set, like many others have said, i just don't understand why warlock is the only one that gets tech when there are lots of control decks out there.
