Guys, get ready, because cards from last expansion won't get any more complex than they are because the engine hearthstone runs on, won't allow for that.
Meaning all the hearthstone team will do from now on is just create more of the same cards except slightly different.
How am I a troll? Cards haven't got any more complex than they have in the last three expansions. I know Blizzard hires people to diss on the internet on anyone who goes against their games (like many other big companies, it's actually a very used manner, in which they hire people to make their games look good on forums)
Anyone who can think for themselves and not be aggravated by little trolls like on my thread would know that what I'm saying is true. The game engine doesn't allow for cards any more complex than there are now. So a new keyword is brought, it's basically a cheap trick to make us seem like anything new comes up when in fact it's nothing worthwhile.
p.s I love hearthstone and this expansion looks sick, but what I'm saying is 100% true. No more complex mechanics will come to the cards, all expansions from now on will be slightly different things of the same. You know I'm right.
My friend I think that you calm down, and begin to think,UNITY will have updates, which will make the engine more complex.Your are very lucky that I can't post profanity because you would have heard some.I just hate the IDEAS(not ppl.....) that think soooo narrow, stop it or talk alone in bathroom alone as all do.God lucking damit.
There are many things that you can't do easily in Unity (mostly lighting and physics) and HS was released in 2013, when Unity was even more clunky than today. Howevercard design complexity has nothing to do with Unity, card mechanics and game mechanics are usually implemented in pure C# and doesn't use Unity's features. There are no "echo", "recruit" or "overkill" component in Unity that you drag over your card prefab to implement those mechanics.
It depends on programmers not engine, have you ever used unity? i use it everyday and i can tell you this is bullshit what are you talking about. Blizzard tries to make game simple because they target kids. Blaming engine but not programmers is like blaming quality of book's paper that it's story is shitty
Why would you blame programmers? Btw of course, the OP's point is BS. If someone has any problem with the complexity of the game, go and find the designers.
Hearthstone mechanics are just simple logic code. Any c based programming language is capable of much conplexer. You don't even need an framework/software like unity to create those. If you want you can make the game with html and javascript without flashy animations. Look at the HSreplays for a good example. Unity is just a choice of platform to make the game feel fancy.
Overwatch will soon be patched so hard its gonna need a full reinstall because theres gonna be changes regarding coding and server related issues etc. Im not an IT expert but its some fundamental stuff into the game.
Meaning if somehow theres something restricting a card game to be more complex ( i giggled a bit here) then Team 5 would just release a patch doing the same thing as Overwatch in order to restructure the game's core
HS is only a game with a 3(4) card starting hand, 30 health base health, and 2 card maximum (unlike 3-4). The game wasn't made to be as complex as Yu-Gi-Oh or MtG. This really is a moot thread.
The card doesn’t need to be extremely complex imo, the complexity of the deck in which you use the cards are far more important, as I find these decks a lot of fun. The old patron warrior is a great example.
This is either a straight up lie or OP's brain is way too small to understand programming. first of all, the limits are not on unity's part, they are on C#'s/Javascript's part. secondly, it definitely does allow for far far more complex card design. Complexity goes as far as you want it to go with programming.
This post is so stupid it belongs in the Guinness book of records.
As many have mentioned, it has nothing to do with Unity.
From all the inconsistencies and bugs we've seen, it's more likely Hearthstone has spaghetti code, which makes it difficult to add new big changes (technical debt).

Uuuhh "this expansion is the worst ever" thread are beginning to pop up... Yay...
Given all the stuff Unity is capable of, I doubt card creation is ever going to be held back by it. Imagination and creativity on the other hand...
I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
No, we've gone past that, we're in the "next expansion(s) is gonna be the worst ever" territory!
Yeah you're right my bad.

I do not know what can be worse than Frozen Throne.
lol, just watch some "escape from tarkov" youtube videos, this engine is powerful
Cheap troll.
However: Is OP right?
Is Unity too simple for a more creative card game?
In other words: Are MTG Arena and Artifact also programmed in Unity?
Unity is state of the art engine, OP is a cheap troll.

This.
And also C# is a low-level programming language, so you can do pretty anything with it.

I miss WoW trolls, those were good trolls.

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
