I am not sure, and I have I now way opened enough packs for this to be statical valid, but I might think that blizzard has adjusted the legendary rate for classic cards.
First of all this only builds on a sample of 42 packs, which is in no way enough. The reason for this being the case is that I stoped opening classic packs after I got the last legendary I were missing in a complete classic collection. This was before the new classic cards went live, so I naturally saved my packs in the hopes of opening them when they got put in. This also means that my pity timer was reset, so assuming the average of 20 packs per legendary I should have opened 2 by now. I have however opened 5... So could it be that Blizzard has changed the rate in order to help players? or have I just been lucky for the first time in my HS history?
While this would be fantastic news, you were just lucky. If the opening rates were changed in our favour, you can bet that Blizzard would let us know about it for the PR.
5 Legendaries in 42 packs is certainly very good, but is in no way a statistical aberration.
42 packs is not even near enough to extrapolate proper data.
Just be happy for what you got! :D
yah I know it is good, and that's was what freak me out a little. Definitely not my normal experience opening packs :D This is why my thoughts went to changes rates, as introducing new cards would seems like a god time to do it at.
Statistically speaking, having a smaller than 10 expected successes and 10 expected failures in a trial-based experiment is too small of a dataset to draw conclusions. This would mean a sample size of 100 packs at least, probably more given the scale of any possible change.
But either way, good packs are good packs.
