I have over 13k wins in play mode wins and I can barely stand the ranked ladder anymore.
I've been to Legend a few times, last time being on BDP release but ever since I only get to rank 5 and play arena. I complete dailies in lower wild ranks because I am just bored with constructed.
Am I the only one who thinks constructed gets bored after all those years ? Maybe I'm liking arena more recently because I only have 1100 wins vs the 13k constructed so it feels fresh.
I quit playing a month or two ago. Just went cold turkey. I can tell you exactly the straw that broke my back.
I was looking for a deck to play so went to VS meta report. The top 4 decks were something like Odd Pally, Even Rogue, Zoolock, and ?Token Druid?
And I looked at that and saw, Tempo, Tempo, Tempo, Tempo. I don't want to play tempo and I don't want to play against tempo. Then I realized Hearthstone is a tempo game and will always always always be a tempo game. And then it hit me. Hearthstone is not the game for me.
And I quit. I don't know why I keep visiting the forum. But, I guess I still like the trappings of the game even if the game itself isn't for me.
I'm bored of it because Boomsday had almost no impact on the Standard meta, except to make the existing decks better. Games aren't even really fun anymore. It's just, "try to not die this turn, and every turn after, hopefully you draw better than your opponent and can win before they draw the Deathknight."

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Yeah, it’s pretty boring at the minute. It’s the decks that bore me, it’s all stall decks one way or another - stall until Rexxar, stall and spell at face, stall until combo in hand, Psychic Scream Psychic Scream Psychic Scream... stall stall stall. So many anti trade decks, and trading is where the fun is. For me at least.
Same here been playing since beta , got legend loads of times. It still feels like the same game from years ago , Rogue is always the same , paladin always has the small dudes never a tier 1 controll deck after 4 years or so? Its even worse than it ever was cause you got decks that you can't do shit against the past year no matter how well you play and your draws are , Rock paper sciccors has never been this bad.
This has been the year I had the most fun in HS. Because I'm f2p and this was my first rotation in which a ton of my legendaries rotated out, I had a nice nest egg of dust that allowed me to explore a lot more decks, and even reach Legend a couple of times.
True, BDP wasn't the most meta-shaking expac (esp after Giggling disappeared), but Rumble looks fun and the next one will be earthshaking one way or another since DKs will be rotating out.
Got bored since i got to legend first month in witchwood, not salty though just no fun way to play Priest at the moment atleast for me only played some Control Warlock a few times i guess.. As long as i enjoy MTG Arena i'm fine perhaps i'll take a look after new expansion has hit.
There's a chance yo umay have to wait for the rotation. From what I heard of it a while back MTG had an issue of power creep due to an overpowered expansion. To fix it, they had to tone down the power level of the next few expansions until the OP exp rotated out. It sucked during the stale meta but fixed the issue from then on.
HS might be doing the same thing which would explaoin why Boomsday is so low-key (and why the one outlier was nerfed). If RR remains similarly low or, at worst, synergistic only with last year's expansions (think Reno/Kazakus) then the meta wont shift much now but will explode come spring.
If RR does go high powered, it'll be more interesting now but will be a lot more stale in the coming year.
I'm not bored as much as I'm frustrated but that's probably more due to my lack of skill. Previous seasons, I had no issues climbing but right now (and I could be wrong), but I feel as though there are a ton of techs against meta decks, a lot more than previous seasons. I'm struggling to find something consistent to climb with but that's just me. In previous seasons I've been able to take a deck from rank 18 to rank 8 while maintaining a 90% win rate but right now, it's tough. I think the game is in a good state though, it can definitely improve in terms of balance but if we think back to when Jade Druid was in Standard, we should bless what we have now.
Nobody forces you to play tempo, they are a lot of non-tempo decks that are good. Any druid or priest deck for exemple, Shudderwock shaman, control/cube lock... Personally I got to legend this month playing almost only Odd Warrior, and it's far from a tempo deck.
You say you're bored but don't state why. Can you elaborate thus opening up discussion potential.
Why ? Because I am not enjoying constructed very much, that’s why. Attempting a climb is more a chore than anything. And keep in mind that when I do attempt a Legend climb, I tend to climb very quickly
Here. Bored since WotG. 10k wins in constructed as of now.
The thing is, at a certain point you just reach the relatively low skill cap in hearthstone. You know all the archetypes, you usually know ~26+/30 cards in your opponents deck the second they played one or two cards, and you don't misplay at all if you actually focus on the game, as you know your deck inside out.
When a new expansion hits, constructed is a bit fun for a few weeks, but I consider myself experience enough to understand any new archetype really fast, so it is a matter of 5-10 games till you mastered that aswell, and from that point it gets more and more boring.
For some time I experimented with creating new archetypes, but I found that this is much, much harder than it was in the earlier days. I have great memories about a successful aggro warrior deck I built all by myself, back in the days where the only meta-known way to play warrior was control (I know, that is loooong ago. Around GvG/BRM iirc), but unusual stuff like that just doesn't work out nowadays, where the meta is full of way too powerful combos.
Anyway, arena is still great fun. Matches always are different, you have no idea what's in your opponent's deck, and playing well under these conditions translates to a much higher skill cap, so you actually get rewarded for playing good, with a winrate that would be impossible in constructed. I've had countless games where I knew that I won only because of smart plays, despite my opponent having the better deck and draw. Can't remember when I last had such fun in constructed.
I still really like this game. I have made it to Legend the last 6 months. Not because I'm a great player, but because I still enjoy the challenge of ranked play, and keep grinding it out each month.
But the game is stale now.
As Kaladin noted, it's primarily because Boomsday just didn't change things much. And I was really hoping mech decks would take off. But nothing new really emerged.
So we've had the same meta, sort of, since the nerfs to CTA and Cubelock back in... May? Game was slightly different with Giggling everywhere, but now we're back to where we were pre-Boomsday, essentially.
If the new expansion just results in new decks becoming viable, the game will be so much better for it.
And of course, in April, things will be very different. But that's 6 months away.
Hearthstone is a great game. You can get bored of a great game.
There are no perfect games that can hold your attention forever. I'm impressed with how long Hearthstone held my attention. I also come to these forums still, since I enjoy thinking about/watching the game more than playing it.

‘Bored with this game’ would be more accurate..
Yes I find I've played way less in the last few months. I didn't even bother with Rank 15 last month.
I just play quests and brawl for free packs.
Opening packs and having money for next expac seems to be what I'm most interested in at the moment. I'm fine with that for now.
I do watch streams sometimes and will be glued to card reveals though.

In my case it's more increasing frustration than sheer boredom...
Frustration because meta decks are overwhelming against the most refined custom decks.
That is, you can homebrew, but you are pretty much doomed to playing with a viable but heavily sub-optimal deck, despite its refinement.
Th gap between meta and homebrew is too high (and i'm not talking of greedy or meme decks).
Maybe it's just me and it's actually boredom, but to me it feels like frustration...
I'm bored, as I'm always faced against control, combo, Tess and other "slow" decks.
