Honestly it's bad because it cuts both decks. It's just strong against decks with very specific combos but demonic project already does the job pretty well.
I think it is a great card. It's much more usable then you think. Obviously, this card is dead against aggro, BUT! It targets not only OTK decks, it hurts control greatly. Will you trade half of your deck for the burn of Jaina, Rexxar, Hadronox or Malygos? Yes. Yes, you will, since it's quite hard to outvalue/outheal them as a Warlock even with Gul'dan played. With this in your deck you can allow yourself to not care about value, just stack up removal, demon taunt package, couple of Gnomferatus, maybe Elise for pack, so you always win in fatigue. I also actually think Demonic Project will be excessive and hurts aggro matchups too much.
Tl:dr - As Control Warlock, your primary win condition against OTK/control decks was always fatgue, and this card is good for this, since it burns their value + brings fatigue closer.

1. can you afford to pay 8 mana and do nothing on the board?
2. you lose your win condition as well
3. what if you don't burn their win condition and you actually helped them reach their win condition faster??
4. the cost of having a dead draw on most matches..
if it costed 2 mana MAYBE it was good, if it came with a big body like a 6/6 or so it would be also much better but it does just that so it has no use other than a specific tech warlock already have the tools to win against anyway. it costs way too much and also has a downside as well.

Can you afford to play a 10 mana 10/10 to destroy your opponents deck these days?
Agreed. I think it might have some 'niche' uses if the meta is correct, but most of the time, it'll just be an 8-mana do nothing and a dead card you really don't want to draw.
It's a very cool card, but it's just not that good.
Second one is; I can't stop thinking that they will add some cards to Warlock like Academic Espionage or Lab Recruiter to fill your deck again. If they will add so, it would be great.
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
This card can be combo part of some mill deck. We haven’t seen remaining cards of the expansion. Appropriate combo parts can be found in the future 3 expansions as well.
This card smells like MTG, so there can be plenty of combo options if designers want.
It's ironic how people hated Rin and called it a meme card when AT LEAST it allowed you to play minions from the beginning to the end of the combo and didn't affect your deck.
It's early to tell because few cards have been revealed, but right now Void Contract is absolutely unplayable.
I would`nt say the card is bad - and i think it will see some play! meta-defining not so sure, but i also can see that almost every Warlock Deck will run at least 1 Copy just to be safe against some combo stuff ...

1 yes, because i play vs control/OTK and set up for this by playing Doomsayer / Curse of Weakness / some taunts
2 my win condition is fatigue, i embrace nothingless
3 then i still burn bunch of their resourses+ progressed MY win condition, which is again, mill
4 is valid, but most matches? really? Are you already assuming 90% of ladder will be aggro?
If it d cost 2 mana whole RR meta would be Aggro-> Milllock->Odd warrior, and everyone d hate that. This is no Rebuke nor Time Out!. This is win condition in itself. Yes, milllock wont be tier 1 ever, i hope at least. But it can find its nishe and be as playable as mech'thun decks.
Yeah...this card is just bad. Demonic Project already exists and fills the same role for less cost and less downside. It might be see some very limited play in niche decks but it's hard to imagine a deck that this fits due to the damage you do to your own deck.
I am thinking of trying this out as tech in even lock. If you are tapping a lot vs control decks. When you get guldan in hand. Play this and the enemy lost half of their deck which depending on tapping could mean a lot of cards, and though you will still be closer in fatigue, it helps a lot.
I agree actually.... 8 mana do to absolutely nothing.
Warlock already destroys combo decks and that's all this card is good for.
Against aggro this card is an auto lose. At least rebuke didnt cost 8 mana and rebuke at least affected the opponents next turn... this is an 8 mana do nothing. At least Rinn puts bodies on the board when destroying your opponents cards.
8 mana to not effect that board state is a bad card. So excited people want to play it. Easier ladder climbing for me.

so does gnomeferatu
This card is like the combo decks police, you make a viable combo deck, you get arrested.
it's called a tech card, tech cards always see play.
That depends on the meta really, because atm Skulking Geist sees way less play because Jade Druid is in wild

Bloodbloom+ malganis
There are 2 thoughts in my mind.
First one is; Void Contract should have been a Rogue card. With Preparation, Academic Espionage, Myra's Unstable Element and Lab Recruiter, it makes more sense.
Second one is; I can't stop thinking that they will add some cards to Warlock like Academic Espionage or Lab Recruiter to fill your deck again. If they will add so, it would be great.

11 mana?
You mean in the same way people voted Void Contract a meta-defining card without seeing the rest of the 120 cards of the next expansion?
Dab

Just when you thought this game couldn't get any worse... It does.
then play a demon project
