In a game like this most people will have only 1 account because creating a second account actively hinders your ability to play the game, and at the same time gives you no benefit whatsoever. Multiple accounts is a thing high legend streamers do to get more content
I made a second account to get Morgl. Sometimes it's still used for friendly games against my main account. But basically it's an unused account.
dead is not as black n white as either fanboys/haters present it...
...it is dead to good/hard-core players/gamers... ppl who like to get serious about stuff... most of streamers (ex champs, clowns (ex. kripp, toast, trump...) are still in HS because of d $ !! and because they know that they can not get gold mine like this elsewhere...
...hs is becoming mobile/casual-player game... as much (easy)fun as possible / as little skill as possible... bring on the RNG!! bring explosive combos... bring polarized matchup concedes... print broken cards, then nerf standard to not give dust for new ones... make players feel bad/cheated/salty by making their's favorite characters behind paywall...
...hs will have it's customers/players... but I guess most of the ppl on this or similar forums get into that group... lifecoach left for gwent... gwent wasn't that good of a game in the end... as with many other... artifact is made by valve thou... we'll see...
and the game itself is not fun (for me and many of my friends that play it...)... you face aggro, combo decks... that 30% of time draw like crazy... can't do anything... you do not have a way to interact with solitaire that you opponent is playin'... then you are forced to play deck you do not like... and you get grumpy!! ^^ lets not lie: we all like to win, hate to loose... especially to undeserving opponent... and you think of leaving... but you do not! like a bad relationship... 90% it's a hell, but you justify that person/thing for that 10% of okeyish crap... and you invested so much of your time/money/nerves that it feels sooooooo bad to quit... I have spent over 2k $ since Un'Goro, when I started playin' hs...
tl;dr; not dead, won't be dead in while... in a terrible state... if it is more frustrations than fun -> just quit!!
LOL ! HS IS THE FOURTH GAME MOST PLAYED IN THE WORLD ITS NOT DEAD IF YOU DONT LIKE THE GAME QUIT, DONT KEEP SAYING THAT THE GAME DIED (BECAUSE DIDNT DIED)
People proclaiming "HS is dead" are just as ******** (and probably more wrong) as fanboys. Of course Hearthstone is not as popular as before and 100mil is not the number of active accounts. But HS is still the most popular card game and isn't going anywhere (at least not until Artifact releases lol).
Lol Artifact is as much of a HS killer as Gwent was xD People whine and complain all the time how HS is ''unfair to them'' because they are f2p or how the game is ''expensive''. Artifact is, from what I've gathered, a game where you can only buy stuff with actual cash. Yea, good luck convincing that whiny portion of the HS playerbase to switch to a model that is exclusively p2p.
shhhhhh You might expose people to some common sense there champ.

Excuse me good sir, but since when being the most popular CCG means something? Most people don't play card games (not even most gamers), so what's your point, my dear friend?
Ok, Hearthstone is not oficially dead, but it's dying, there is no doubt about that. It's time to accept it and move on. ;)

Ok, prove it. Prove to us, beyond shadow of a doubt, that the game is dying.
Since when does being the most popular game in the genre mean something? You're right! It doesn't mean anything. I mean, why are all of these companies constantly fighting to make their games the most popular ones in the genre when it is clearly meaningless. It is not like being the most popular = most people play, most successful and brings in most $. This is such an eye opener!
I've read some pretty idiotic things on this forum but I think that I'm beginning to develop a brain tumor from the idiocy that simply radiates from this statement.

I can't prove it that way, I don't work for Blizzard. But I have a better idea... I'm going to give you a very similar task, since you are the one who started this thread: can you prove us, beyond shadow of a doubt, that the game is not dying? ;)
Just cause Blizzard reached 100 million accounts, doesn't mean the game is in a good state and there are more people joining than leaving.
A couple of years ago it was 70 million
Now it is 100 million
Clearly more people are leaving!
100 million accounts, not active players. There is a big difference. And this happened in WoW too, before Blizzard made the decision to throw up the whole world in Cataclysm.
Excuse me good sir, but since when being the most popular CCG means something? Most people don't play card games (not even most gamers), so what's your point, my dear friend?

Serious question. Why are you still here??? You have made it abundantly clear that you now play Magic: Arena, however you seem to post on these fora all the time with your "Hearthstone is dying", "it's not worth the money", etc. If you really have moved on then why do you need to continue to follow what's going on with Hearthstone?
Like I said, I'm not trying to start a flame war between fans of HS and Magic (I play both and I know other people do as well). It's not just you, but I really don't understand why people make so many posts when they clearly don't care about the game anymore.

As you can see here, the current figure is only 37 million active players... and that is across "its suite of games, including Overwatch, Hearthstone, and World of Warcraft. "
Not only that, but this is also recorded as a loss from the previous quarter amount. You wanted proof - well there's direct proof from Blizzard themselves. :-) Now it may not be specifically proof that the game is dying, but it is certainly proof that Blizzard are losing active players by the million. That said, they also state that Hearthstone is "tracking well" - but ironically don't provide anything more meaningful than that. Usually if it's in a good way, companies of Blizzard's size would want to tout exact figures - so it is logical to assume that the news is not all sunshine and rainbows.

Yes, I was supposed to post that too. A large majority of those 100 million never even played a ranked game. It is a consequenze of a clever marketing strategy making it easy to try other activision games through the app.

Do you ever considered the fact that usually online CCGs are not very popular (as I suggested in my previous post) and Heartshtone being the best of them doesn't mean it's not dying? It could be replaced by other at any time or the entire genre could go to hell, we'll see...

Like it was replaced by Duelist or Gwent? Weeboverse, Eternal or MtgA? Yep, it can surely be replaced at any time.
Hearthstone is the biggest and most popular online CCG. It is the biggest game in its market. Other markets are not a competition to it in a same way as it is not a competition to them. It doesn't matter if an fps market has a much popular game or rpg market has a much popular game. It is like saying ''Yea, Civ 189 is the most popular game on the strategy game market but Witcher 7 just came out, took the rpg market by storm, so Civ 189 is as good as dead, no one is going to play it anymore''

Because I like the forum. But that is not everything, I also want Hearthstone to succed, particularly with this new expansion, because being nice and good, while trying to pretend that there are no problems does not help at all, but being a bit aggressive while constantly attacking Blizzard can result in something good. I'm not saying I can affect Blizzard directly with my posts (I know I'm just a mere mortal using an internet forum :P), but if everyone would follow my example (or that of many others who do the same thing) things would be likely be very different about this game. ;)

Before Hearthstone, the online CCG genre was almost nonexistent. I'm not saying other markets can be a competition to it (wtf dude, seriously, learn to read, I never spoke about other markets...), I'm just saying that if the game dies, the whole genre could go to hell with it... do you understand now?
Personally I don't think the game is "dying" myself - but it does appear to be shrinking in size. But that sort of thing is natural in the lifecycle of games.
Look at games like CS:Go for example. Its playerbase is a shadow of its former self when many players Exodus'd to PUBG and Fortnight - and yet it is still going very strong in a slightly diminished capacity.
As for me, having originally come from both a MtG and a WoW TCG background, I am looking forward to seeing what Artifact will be like (as a DOTA player and fan). I will still play and enjoy Hearthstone - same as I still play MtG occasionally - but I am looking forward to seomthing new and fresh.
And that's where this is a make-or-break time for Hearthstone. They have been fortunate that the CCG market has been so niche for so long (partly thanks to Wizards of the Coast's aggressive infringement policies) because they have allowed Hearthstone to remain much to oversimplified as a game leading to stale matchups and predictable decks - but now that competition is appearing, they can't afford to sit back and expect players to just lump it. They need to consider something big to make Hearthstone exciting and appealing again.
I have often felt one of their worst decisions was in creating Standard mode as the main mode people play (rather than wild) - having Wild as the core mode would have meant far more deck archetypes and diversity for players to work in. Instead we are restricted by a frustratingly narrow selection of cards and mechanics. meaning that players are desperate for change when a new expansion comes around. I'll be watching to see what Blizzard does and if / how they intend to try and retain players as the new CCG games start to challenge them with considerable interest. :-)

"There is no spoon"
Well there's always the actual figures from Blizzard.
