I haven't seen any cards that look exciting, or you can build around, or improves an existing niche deck archetype.
I would be happy with a new murloc with rush, or a minion that gives your weapon lifesteal, but haven't seen any so far. I'll wait for all cards to be revealed before making a decision. But from what I've seen so far, I'm inclined to pass.
Honestly I'm wondering if they aren't going to sweeten it a bit given the total debacle that Diablo Immortal announcement was...maybe they want to make sure they don't alienate two fanbases at once?
Well it's an ordinary pre-order. It includes 50 packs and extra stuff (Rastakhan skin) for the usual price. WW had +20 packs as extra stuff, BDP had Jaraxxus skin as extra stuff. Nothing shocking but nothing underwhelming as well.

You have only seen 16 cards, sure you can say you don't like what you have seen (so far) but to base a pre purchase of, of that. I don't know about to bundle but i'm going to buy it anyway. 50/50 is still 10 more than you normally get and you'll get a free hero (I don't use shaman but whatever).
I still don't know why we don't get a new Rogue, Hunter or Priest hero since we haven't seen one of those in a while.
Honestly I'm wondering if they aren't going to sweeten it a bit given the total debacle that Diablo Immortal announcement was...maybe they want to make sure they don't alienate two fanbases at once?
Diablo Immortal IS for hearthstone fanbase, did u not get the memo? They were making a lot of money from mobile card purchases.
You're still getting packs at a lower cost than normal so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i am just saying, i think i started playing july 15 (that is my oldest cardback). the only time i spent money on the game is the whichwood prepurchase and the boomsday prepurchase, i think that blizzard won't get as many prepurchases as they have in these 2 expansions so as a business move, i don't get it. i haven't decided yet, but i probably won't be prepurchasing, i can get the cards i want from dust and arena packs
Hearthstone is facing lots of good competition. My wallet is a lot lighter with my recent MTG Arena and Gwent: Thronebreaker purchases, so Blizzard will have to sweeten the deal before I drop more cash.
How much value are we talking about?
Would be nice if they released expansions like Naxxramas again, where you get all cards from the set with a single purchase. That kind of value. Until then, I'm voting with my wallet for better value for all of us players.
Isn't 50 $/€ for 50 packs the default preorder value? Un'goro and KfT had the same deal as far as I remember.
yes, that is why i actually bought the last 2, they were better values, but if we are going back to the default preorder, i will keep my money and just get all i need thru arena packs

Is this supposed to be a joke?
You've seen 16 cards.
There are 135...
How could you possibly even think that seeing 16 cards is enough to be "inclined to pass".
The big bundle is worth it considering the skin is the best we've had since Lunara. The small one is a joke, worst offer ever made by Blizzard in the Hearthstone department.
I think they did it like that because so many people complained about the skin from Boomsday being too expensive.
I believe both Boomsday and WW had amazing offers, despite the complaints, and this one has a good offer as well but again: DON'T BUY THE SMALL BUNDLE, IT'S CRAP!
They’re also giving you a free legend upon login in and 2 spirit cards. Plus 6 packs. Tell me again that they don’t give us enough free shit every expansion
I’ve Preordered , and have 3k gold saved up which is the least amount I’ve saved for any recent expansion , along 20k dust.
Want the most out of your money? only spend it on preorders. If you don’t. Waste t through out the year on random assortments of packs.
Other wise shut up and be grateful for the free shit
i don't think people are getting it. there will always be people who buy everything they can in a mobile game, there will always be people who only play for free. blizzard already gives out a ton of free stuff to its hearthstone players as you mentioned. blizzards goal should be to get as many people as possible who are free to play to actually make a purchase or those who occasionally make purchases to make a purchase. they did make a free to player (me), pre-purchase the past 2 expansions but i don't know if i will this time because it is so easy to acquire things for free in the game. i think blizzard is making a mistake with this pre-order deal they have
am I missing something or does this pre-order seem worse than both boomsday and whichwood pre-order deals?
OMG people just get worse every day.
Boomsday bundle: "OMG IT'S SO EXPENSIVE AND FOR A SKIN? AN UGLY SKIN?"
Rastakhan Bundle: "THAT'S SO BAD OMG I WILL NOT PREORDER THIS BUNDLE".
Just stop.
People are so bad. They do not even read the post anymore.
WW: 50 $ we get you 70 pack
BP: 50 $ we get you 50 pack AND a GOLDEN legendary. golden legendary means at least 16 pack worth of dust, but if you are lucky even more than 20 OR you pay 80$ for 80 pack plus a GOLDEN legendary plus a hero. You can even take both if you please.
RR: 50 $ bundle 50 pack plus a hero skin. OR you can get rip off by buying the 20 $ bundle with 17 packs (you can buy the same amount of packs at the same price always).
considering the same price of 50$, you get respectevely 20 more pack, 16 or more packs and one hero skin. Considering an Hero skin worth at best 10$-15$ (at best!), you are not only forced to buy a hero skin but the deal is much worse, at least 4-5 packs worse. You may like the skin a lot and be happy with the new one.... But still the new bundle is worse value that the other 2. I'm purely talking value Wise not be driven by anger.
I bought all of 3 by the way, so I do not consider myself poor or whiny about not being able to get a new skin.
It's just that people will more and more. If the bundle was the same as Boomsday one ---> Omg this bundle is the same, there isn't anything new!!! OMG.
People complained about Annoy/-o-tron skin because they got 20 packs + hero skin at the price of 20 packs. And they complained. They should understand that Designers have a cost.
What strikes me is there's a lot of variance in pricing since Ben Brode took off. I think Witchwood was his last one? And post this, we've got two very different pricing strategies that involves Golden cards and alt heroes.
My perception is that there's some experimentation to see what combination yields the most returns. Are Blizzard monetizing alt heroes? Of course they are. I think this is a fair deal, but that's because I'm a collector. I'm interested in whether we'll see any more heroes behind paywalls in the future?
Hmm. I think you have to see HS as a product that has to make money... We know that this expasions IS gonna be the most powerfull of the 3 expansions this year (year of the raven). Its the one with the shortest time in standard play, since it rotates out in a year and 3 months. This has been blizzards model for some time now. So yes, if you need to pick an expasion to have a bad presale offer, it should be the expasion that players needs the most. Because then they have to buy more or play more to get what the need to be in the meta.

yeah it sucks, dont waste your money in this game
No free golden leg?

Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.
this, your replacing a golden legendary for a hero skin

Already pre-ordered.
No brain - no pain.

Very much a Bobby Kotick thing.
Golden Hero Collections thus far; -
Europe: Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior (9/9)
Americas: Druid, Mage, Paladin Shaman (4/9)
Everywhere else: Workin on it.. (0/9)
