The backstory to why I am writing this post. I read some guy willing to drop $$$ on HS and wanted advice on which packs to buy... So, I shared my experience with them. I thought since I have written something which might help him, maybe others will also find it useful, so I decided to share it with you guys too. Hope I am able to help somebody.
PS: I am not a blizzard fanboy and I think HS is very expensive.
To anyone who is willing to spend money on hearthstone, act smart and you will get good value for money.
I was a F2P player when started in Sept 2015 up until Ungoro launch, as I didn't have disposable income until then. Moving to the point, do I regret spending money on HS? NO, I DON'T REGRET IT. I have spent approximately £600. Reason being, HS has brought me pleasure (upon winning and completing solo adventures), something to focus on when I could be bored to death and end up in depression, it also led me to twitch and hearthpwn, which are wonderful places if you enjoy a particular game.
Secondly, I always plan ahead, so I keep checking amazon coin deals every other day and buy the 10000 coin bundle at the cheapest rate which is approximately 24% discount. I buy the pre-order as it gives me good value for money. With 10000 coins I opened 80 packs pre-order and I save gold and open around 70 - 80 packs. In total around 150 - 160 packs. I think this is enough to have a decent set. I also hit rank 5 every month just for the golden epic reward which gives you extra 400 dust. Always refresh your quest if it a 50 gold quest and be nice to people in your friend's list, not everyone trades the 80 gold quest, a lot of guys in my friend's list play with me when they get the 80 gold quest.
Finally, regarding the money you are about to spend, if I were you, I would save it for the next expansion and constantly check amazon for 10000 coin cheapest deal, personally, I buy when I get 24% discount.
While this is good advice and helpful for players so i can appreciate that, I just can't help but laugh that nowadays you have to write "PS: I am not a blizzard fanboy and I think HS is very expensive." in your message otherwise you'd get called a fanboy by the forum clowns for doing this, I mean, I sometimes get called a fanboy just because I disagreed with someone and they didn't like it. xD
trust me, no matter how hard you try you'll never be able to please everyone, goes for every game aswell, some people are going to be happy while others are unhappy about something, just life i'm afraid. lol

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
I imagine the type of player that sinks cash into building even lock or odd rogue at level 50 falls into that category. Didn't we have a few people post those experiences as of late?
I spend on HS, don’t regret it, as I like playing a variety. I can’t inagine how sad it would be to play 1 or 2 decks only, every expansion. I like all classes, so i always have 2 deckslots per class.
im even enjoying MTG more than HS now, but I’ll still preorder since it always gives me enough to craft what I like.
I unfortunately like memes so most decks I ply are expensive. But HS is a meme game by design, MTG is for skill. Once people realize that, the games are 10x more fun. It’s not a money sink if you enjoy it.
