Just played & got beat by a Mech Spiteful Druid on wild ladder after they played three (yes three) spiteful summoners on turn 7-9. So yeah I'd say there are people having fun.
I try my best to have fun but I rarely succeed. this meta is extremely toxic. All you see is hardcore aggro or some stupid cheese like quest rogue or Deathrattle balanced hunter.
for me, I have always driven to play fun decks while still ranking up, but unfortunately, thats not possible. If u wanna rank up, use meta decks and get good rng, other than that, there is no possible way to win (unless ur disguised toast).
I kept switching decks in an attempt to try and see what was accepted in this meta and I would go up against hard counters to any deck I switched t
This meta is so bad and I think they should do something to fix it and make it more suitable for people who aren't only focused on winning, but also want to have fun
No. That is why we are here in this thread and not playing the game or discussing meta. Because there is nothing interesting to discuss about Hearthstone anymore. This game is stale. People talking about Hearthstone's problems and other card games are much more intriguing than whatever the hell we could talk about game play wise and you all know it's true.
Hearthstone used to be game where I always felt like I was learning something new. I remember fondly old control v control match ups during tourney play and being interested by every little resource preserved and used. Now decks going infinite is the norm and infinite random card generation out the ass with mechanics you can't interact with have all sapped what little enjoyment there was to be had in this mess of game. Every class has so much sustain, you don't even need to build your deck in a manner to support it, it's served up on a silver platter with choose options, card draw and legs.
Hearthstone has always been a simple game with balance issues. The heart of skillful play came from managing resources well though and that has been stripped from the game. Now we have shit like Mecha'thun and Shudderwock. Just throw your shit out there and hope for the best. No I'm not having fun.
Wait till next rotation, like in every other card game. The meta is stale because we have 5 card xpacs in play and the evergreen set.
Imagine a world in which we only had Witchwood and Boomsday in play. There will be a new meta everyday (which we have at least a week)
Fuck you for trying to have fun in a competitive mode.
I probably just answered my own question.
w/e.
Yes, yes you did. Answer: make some HS friends. There is no way for blizzard to enforce a ‘fun mode’, especially with the different definitions of fun. Example, you stated disdaine for combo priest but it’s certainly not a meta deck. I would argue it’s the same tier as your Tess Rogue deck.
So friend people who make interesting decks. Find people on these forums who like playing that way. If you play competitive you have to assume most people will value power over flare. You can’t advance your win count for golden portraits or get your 10g for 3 wins but you can complete quests.
I only play for daily quests. The game has been far from fun for me for a while now. New cards aren't that interesting, standard sucks, and Ben Brode is gone...
I have no problems with people playing meta decks in all game modes. And as long as I stopped pursuing ranks it helped me to reduce my tilt.
Can't say that I play meta decks nowadays and for the funsies, I have Aggro Murloc Warlock and N'zoth Reno Hunter for Wild and Odd Aggro-Elemental Mage for Standard.
Bypassing the rant and answering the question in the title: yes, I try to. For what I play HS anymore anyways. MTGA has captured my interest quite intensively and the HS mobile app has been a bitch lately. Anyway, played the usual rank 5 last season using primarily DMH Fatique Warrior and Mecha'thun Druid because a) you can win with them, which is more fun than losing and b) they're pretty much the only decks in standard (or in the whole game for that matter, thanks to Star-Aligner Druid) I enjoy playing with that can also fulfill the option a.
Is playing your 8 billion priest card combo deck fun?
Is playing 'herp derp tempo' mage fun?
I mean, I don't expect to win every game, I just want to have a nice fun Tess rogue game and we both play some random shit! and Shenanigans ensues!
Oh wait, I forgot. It's Hearthstone, so you play within 1nm of the meta or you suffer the consequences. Fuck you for trying to have fun in a competitive mode.
I probably just answered my own question.

I've playedlast month, up to rank 3, which I've never gotten before. And yes, I played resurrect priest and Mecha'Thun priest and enjoyed it a lot! Now I've gotten into the CCG Eternal (as people were talking about it on this forum) and got interested in that too. So now I'm just doing my daylies and am currently at rank 6 (only played a couple of games so far). I'll definately push till rank 5 but after that it's only daylies for now.
Whenever I'm done with Eternal again I'm sure I will play Heartsthone a bit more again.

OMGoodness you're such a hypocrite
Tess Rogue is the new meme meta. I auto-lose to it playing shufflewock. Get your tier 1 meme trash out of casual and play some true memes
Yes i have. Fun to play, sometimes even if losing. Fun to create something, to collect, to lay up and spend dust. When the Un'Goro was released, i dropped to play for nearly two years, but now it's never as bad as someone can think. But, i think, the end of DK heroes, quests and cobold weapon will make it better. Even with Baku&Genn ingame.
Am not in it for the fun. Right now I am all about finishing quest (s). If I get a win while doing quest (s) then that's an added bonus. I actually like the long game and all these ultra aggro decks make it difficult to go long. Some of the decks I play are different, most are strange. I get bored easily of playing the same old deck and get some sort of weird satisfaction playing decks that are not mainstream.

Sort of but the game gets so stale. Wish they wouldn't have skipped the balance change

You not having fun / losing to these decks does not constitute to other ppl not having fun or just joylessly playing to win.
Also: A lot of people enjoy winning. So yeah.
You seem salty over not winning.
Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
Playing competitive in standard is fun imho.
If I want the meme deck fun I go for wild.
I'm just grinding daily quests for the next expansion. I play less than 40min a day
Thread starter is salty af.

Winning = Fun why play a game if you don't wanna win. I play every game in my life to win no matter what I have to do except cheating ofcourse

Hit rank 15 with a homebrew back in the KOFT days.
Yaayyy...
There's all my notable achievements.

Yeah. I play for fun. Ranking isn’t worth the stress, but I like that I can win games based on skill..... sometimes. I just enjoy it
