Is playing your 8 billion priest card combo deck fun?
Is playing 'herp derp tempo' mage fun?
I mean, I don't expect to win every game, I just want to have a nice fun Tess rogue game and we both play some random shit! and Shenanigans ensues!
Oh wait, I forgot. It's Hearthstone, so you play within 1nm of the meta or you suffer the consequences. Fuck you for trying to have fun in a competitive mode.
You must be stressed out irl to be getting this upset by people playing meta decks
OP is not even complaining about meta decks, he's complaining about priest, of all things. Last I checked HSReplay, not only was priest the lowest winrate class out of the 9 but it was so low that the winrate difference between 8th and 9th was greater than 1st and 8th
The deep irony here is that he's complaining about off meta things being unplayable when the "offending" deck is priest, which literally the farthest thing from a meta class we have in the entire expansion. In other words, his opponents are having fun and winning with off meta decks while he complains that one cannot win with off meta decks
I've seen a lot of salt threads in my time but this one is really fucking next level
I'm really curious about what OP considers "fun". Sounds to me it might be any deck he pulls out of his ass but definitely not anything even creative or off-meta as long as the opponent is playing it and winning. Of course, he clearly doesn't appear to be having fun so his definition is likely wrong
Its so funny how often I see people bring up thief rogue when complaining about meta decks. I mean nothing against it, i'm sure it's fun but it feels like I see that so often.
Tempo mage and combo priest decks are all fun.
I don't think you should complain about people being tryhard in a competitive mode like ranked, but if you're talking about standard then you have a fair point. It's nothing but tier decks.
You know, Day 9 of all people has a good story on this subject:
He was in college and a roommate/friend of his organized a team to attend a local HALO (original) tournament. They get absolutely stuck and reamed, and they come back spouting such sage wisdom as, "the game's called HALO, not PISTOL - O!", "We just wanted to have fun, wtf?!?", etc.
For those who are too young (if you lived this, you remember it), competitive HALO revolved around the pistol and absolutely no other weapon.
Day 9 had a similar reaction to mine at reading this post. Losing, ESPECIALLY losing by handicapping yourself in the name of fun/honor/challenge/whatever, is rarely going to equal fun.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
No. That is why we are here in this thread and not playing the game or discussing meta. Because there is nothing interesting to discuss about Hearthstone anymore. This game is stale. People talking about Hearthstone's problems and other card games are much more intriguing than whatever the hell we could talk about game play wise and you all know it's true.
Hearthstone used to be game where I always felt like I was learning something new. I remember fondly old control v control match ups during tourney play and being interested by every little resource preserved and used. Now decks going infinite is the norm and infinite random card generation out the ass with mechanics you can't interact with have all sapped what little enjoyment there was to be had in this mess of game. Every class has so much sustain, you don't even need to build your deck in a manner to support it, it's served up on a silver platter with choose options, card draw and legs.
Hearthstone has always been a simple game with balance issues. The heart of skillful play came from managing resources well though and that has been stripped from the game. Now we have shit like Mecha'thun and Shudderwock. Just throw your shit out there and hope for the best. No I'm not having fun.
i called it bs; im a collector by nature and i spent good money on hs ; but im actually playing even paladin on ladder to have fun and chill. So yes : there is some people.
Yes I have fun I play Tess rogue. The only not fun part is people who rope every turn or even on the most simplest turns take yr and a day to play one m. Or they bm sit there and hold one card in there hand and last minute play pyro or fire ball we get it ur edgy a hole with no life but for one can just ur dam cards. I have no fun playing meta deck there so easy to blurt out each card that is played but yet u sit there rope me every turn. And don’t tell me oh I am playing another game on the side play faster than no one wants to sit and watch u rope every dam turn ur warlock most of it is zoo play fast it is brain dead deck turn for pally is divine minion or 2 1 drops wow suck hard decision.
Also: priest is NOT top tier, not at all... especially the million card combo OP talks about (apm priest) is one of the lowest wr decks and the combo is insanely fun, even if the opponent plays it against me. You are just salty that you lost from one and you are mad that you can’t just farm “easy” decks. Smh...
well, I generally have fun. I made a Big Shaman and a Big Priest in Standard and they're pretty hilarious, there's some complete nonsense combos in it, and I would give it an edge against control decks. then I ran into these things in a row :
- healzoo who turn 1 played Flame Imp + coin + someone call for a doctor + Happy Ghoul and then Keleseth,
- 2 tempo mages with starting Mana Wyrms who Glyphed into Fireballs, not that they even needed it,
- odd rogue with amazing anime level of draws, not that they even needed it,
- kill everything Warlock who gnome'd my key matchup cards,
then I just shut down the game for the day and went to play Heroes of Might and Magic. I had fun then. in short, Hell is other people.
I mean, really? Is anyone having fun?
Is playing your 8 billion priest card combo deck fun?
Is playing 'herp derp tempo' mage fun?

I probably just answered my own question.
w/e.
You must be stressed out irl to be getting this upset by people playing meta decks
p.s. Herpa derp tempo mage IS fun
edit: jk lol I hate tempo mage especially when I’m a win away from getting to rank 6 and they top deck exactly what they need
I exist, I think.
Winning is more fun
Wild casual is where it's at.
If you have fun in losing, go on
I have a lot of fun playing Tess rogue but lose more than win.
I can win a lot more if play with odd rogue but the deck is boring.
Sometimes you can get both, sometimes don't, after get rank 5 don't care anymore for winrate so I play Tess.

This was by far the most reasonable answer, if only OP was interested in being reasonable...
If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.

Winning is fun in itself !
Yeah, I'm getting fun. Start every season at 25 rank and getting trashed by top tier decks at that rank.
Hell, can't play my garbage decks even at 25 rank, what Blizzard is doing to this game?
