These expansions are cancer and they ruined the game. We will finally have a balanced meta in 2019
I can relate to what you are saying but in all honesty I think we had way worse meta games before (pirate warrior, secret pala and the "original" aggro hunter still haunt me). There is a lot of broken shit around atm but for almost all classes, so I cant remember having a more diverse meta before.
The current Tier 1 Decks that will be hit hard by the rotation - Odd Paladin, Malygos Rogue, Togwaggle Druid, Cube Hunter, Even Warlock, Zoo Warlock.
I'm sorry, you mean Malygos Druid, right?
@topic; yeah the next rotation will rotate out a tremendous amount of current meta cards, but isn't that kind of the point, really? I for one am looking forward to seeing how the meta will shape with all these cards rotating out. It could change quite a lot, which is rather exciting!
It's great that we're losing all those cards. Blizz printed new cards making them severely OP. Current expansions aren't really lacking in power, it's just that Un'Goro, KFT and KaC are so strong it's crazy. You'll see how fun it's gonna become after rotation, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sure!
Re: Classic set fatigue: it'd be nice to know the percentage of cards from Classic in top-tier decks right now. Does anyone know of such a source?
I don't now a percentage but I feel like there are just some go to cards which will go in almost any deck of a certain class (Druid comes to mind immidiatly with Wild Growth, Wrath and Swipe). I went through my decks though and found that the percentage of classic set cards is not as high as I would have expected (my egg hunter has 6 classic cards for example). That will probably change though after the rotation.
I had a lot of fun with these fading expansions-from playing Queen Carnassa + elekk and filling my deck to playing Angry Chicken OTK thanks to Dire Frenzy and Grievous Bite.. The cards I'll miss will probably not be the most competitive ones but the meme ones.. Luckily Boomsday added Seaforium bomber and pogo hoppers and hopefully the coming expansions will bring more .
I won't really miss the Dks tbh. Hopefully hunters get more fun beasts since the Beastmaster part of his character is really what makes him interesting IMO.

Winning!? Nah dawg *Meme-ing!*!! (but also winning)
1)New tribe. Plants or undead will work. 2)Neutral beast synergies. Why have beasts in all classes if there are zero neutral beast synergies? This pisses me off. 3)More start of game effects. But preferably not in the "build deck around it and get insane stuff" style. I want better Prince Malchesar not Glenn\Baku variants. Maybe something "symmetric" like add 3 random secrets(murlocs\1 mana minion\etc) in both decks 4)Good replacement for elementals that will leave standard. I don't want elementals to become post GvG mechs, when mech tag meant nothing in standard for more than two years 5)Meaningful choice between several viable 7-8 mana minions. I "love" how they rotated away Ragnaros "because it is seen in too many decks" only to add The lich king for another auto-inclusion for decks that play 8 drops. 6)Good anti-heropower tech card(s). Seriously I don't want Hagatha\Boom meta
the expansion at december is always the most powerful one. eg. gadgetzan and kobolds. i remember this one had some sea stuff on it ( remember the calendar?) so there maybe powerful murlocs and pirates again. ( and the octo card back is vancleef themed maybe foreshadowing stuff?)

Murlocs for the next rotation... Rockpool Hunter and Gentle Megasaur and Primalfin Totem will have last 4 months. It makes it likely that Blizzard will unleash broken murloc decks knowing that they'll die out in 4 months. It is especially likely that shaman will get broken murloc\murloc synergy card.
I like Un'goro, but I will NOT be sad at all about saying goodbye to Quest Rogue. Same with Knights; as a dirty Midrange player, I like cards that generate multiple, decently statted minions, so I will be sad to see Chain Gang go. It can't go on for much longer, boys... However, saying goodbye to some of the DKs (Mage, Warlock) will be a good thing. Sad to lose Hunter and, actually, Rogue DKs; I had some fun with both.
To be honest I don't really see how the two new expansions will hold out but at the moment they don't seem to anywhere near to beeing as defining as those expansions were. Of course it kind of exciting what mechanics they might hold back for the upcoming expansions but I really fear that the 2017 expansions might have been the best we are going to get.
You don't think that Odd and Even decks have been defining? Have you been playing Gwent....? ;-)
In any case, I actually can't wait to see the back of Deathknights and other irritating decks like that. Will be refreshing not to have to see Gul'dan and Jaina DKs in every respective deck, etc
If all the broken cards go out Odd Warrior will be broken as f***. Ofc they going to print new cards next 2 expansion but I doubt these cards going to be as strong as all these broken Druid cards, Rexxar, Jaina or Guldan which are cards that can hold CW back. So invest in CW is a wise move now
Guldan doesnt hurt OW, Rin does. Jaina if you play smart cant do anything. Rexxar can stomp you but It needs to highroll. What keeps OW at bay are combo decks like Mechathun Anything or TW druid which are nearly a 100 loss and those are going to remain untouched.
Have you played against DK Jaina lately? Mage has a number of spells/ways to leave your minions with 1 HP even if you trade properly, unless by "play smart" you mean not play any minions at all as you get hit in the face by the ice elementals already on the board.
Well OW's trick of fighting Jaina is that they don't actually have to fight on the board and just board clear the minions she places on the board. Thus they can literally stop playing minions and just sit on the hero power all day to starve DK Jaina out. Doesn't make it a favorable matchup but it IS a viable option.
To piggyback though Rexxar DK isn't a highroll situation. They WILL get the minions they need given enough time, thus Warrior is in the aggressive seat in that matchup. It's really a case of where the DK card is in the deck: if it's far enough back then hunter simply dies. If soon enough then Warrior gets overwhelmed eventually.
This deserves more than 1 upvote and would have received many more if your post would have been at the beginning of the thread. But here have my upvote :)
Also probably every class will get a new hero for next year.
Not really , CW is such a weird archtype. You only need the upgrade hero power(via Baku, Justicar or whatever they will print) , 2 shieldslam/execute, 2 brawl and throw whatever cards to fill remaining slots then you will have a deck atleast viable vs all aggressive decks in any meta. So losing these above mention card is not really hurt

You seem to have no understanding of Odd Warrior if you think that by removing Stonehill/Direhorn/Elise/Zola AND reckless flurry (which will be replaced in the next expansion but will it be as effective?) the deck will continue to be a aggro killing tier 2 deck. It needs some SERIOUS support or it will be marginalized like it was in the Witchwood meta; Tier 3 tournament viable but extreme matchup consistency keeping it out of the top meta. I think you massively underestimate the strongest cards in the deck currently in standard.

dont worry they will keep printing broken cards such as Shitterwock

We'll have to see what warrior gets in the next 2 expansions, it loses quite a few important control cards.
Reckless Flurry, Direhorn Hatchling, Stonehill Defender are core cards in Odd Warrior, Elise the Trailblazer, Zola the Gorgon are honorable mentions.
Blood Razor, Dead Man's Hand are core cards in normal warrior, Cornered Sentry, Drywhisker Armorer are honorable mentions.
Also probably every class will get a new hero for next year.
I think 7 hero cards in two expansion won't happen. They seem to use heroes for "central thematic character" of the set
I like Un'goro, but I will NOT be sad at all about saying goodbye to Quest Rogue. Kobolds can die in a fire.

We have had that feeling for four years now. Nothing changed when Witchwood came out in that regard ;)

So basically they are removing the Ungoro set from standard? Can someone anwser that??
