The fact is the majority of these streamers attain higher viewcounts when Hearthstone is streaming, this has been proven on dozens of high profile hearthstone specific streams. The flavour of the month won't matter when a stream's viewbase dips and they want to get it back up. Every single one will go back to hearthstone or accept lower views unless demographic trends shift dramatically, which the data does not correspond.
Magic has no connection to WoW. Why would I watch my favorite streamers play Magic or Gwent, or Artifact when in the end those are just random online card games that have no connection to the game I played for many many years?
Sure, not everyone came from WoW, but the main initial reason this game took off was because of it. I'm not going to suddenly drop the game to watch streams of a game I care nothing about.
These are just sponsored streams, the streamers aren’t “moving to MTGA”.
The real story is that many streamers are actually moving to Artifact. MrYagut and StrifeCro are two examples. StanCifka will be focusing mainly on Artifact, from what I hear, as well as Savjz. And these are not just paid Ads, they’re genuinely migrating to a new game.
A lot of HS streamers are losing their viewers, almost 50% lost for kibler, amaz, savjz, kripp, etc. The only one to survive is thijsnl.
A lot of streamer are seeking for a harder game than hearthstone with less RANDOM effects on it. Lifecoach was the first to leave years ago, now that better options are available like MTG:a, artifact, gwent, etc i'm not surprise the big part of bored streamer will switch to a more interresting game.
What he says is true for a lot of other streamers too. I guess now HS streamer will play 1 month after expansion then switch to an other game every time.
I was bored at WW expansion. It seems that it was the expansion that bored a lot of people (in my HS discord, 80% players switched to MTG:a or simply stopped HS recently). Hope HS will bring some new mechanics and not only news minions with different stats or with just taunt or divine shield sometimes to make them different :/
The question isn't why they play it now, it is if they will keep playing it when they hype/sponsor money dries out.
Me and many others will unfollow or unsubscribe if they quit HS. Also remember it is a JOB for them, not relaxation and fun. They will do whatever pays off the best.
Some streamers have steady followers no matter what they play, but it remains to be seen how that works out for the HS guys!

It's common to leave a job that pay better than an other because if make you feel bad for one where you are happy even if you gain less money. This is the same thing with streamers, if they can continue to survive with a minimum money on an other game and they feel better on this other one, they can potentially swipe game. So maybe they will lost money but not enough to stop streaming. Plus, unlike you, I will never subscribe to a HS streamer, but a magic its totally feasible. They can grab a different kind of viewers !
no one is moving anywhere, unless you have to wait 10 mins for the game to find you an opponent the game is doing A-OK
some people think that there is space for only one card game in the market but keep forgetting that if it wasn't for HS there would be no market for the digital CCGs
just like WoW is not the only MMORPG, in the same way HS is not gonna be the only one card game
competition is the best thing that can happen to HS, exactly the same thing was happening a year ago when CDPR started beta for GWENT...
also the truth is that HS is the easiest one to learn and start understanding what's happening on the screen when watching someone else's plays, the UI is clean, the card design is great, people who say HS is shit and that it's bad design...this and that, don't know anything about what makes the game great and HS is a very well designed game, especially when it comes to streaming and watching, also funny thing is that they still play it :)
There quite a few streamers that were MTG players in the past, they mostly are doing it to either A. because sponsored or B. Returning to their roots and seeing what it has to offer. Bonus ITS NEW! Most are getting burnt out of hearthstone and willing to give it. ALSO PEOPLE CAN PLAY more than game people lol.
I dont get this i only play one game only business..
MTGA is just fresh so they are giving it a spin, that being said boomsday meta right now is one of the worst i can remember...
You must be new. You should go back in time during Undertaker hunter meta or pirate warrior meta. You should also check the future metas and then you'll be grateful for Boomsday meta.

The viewership always dips by about this exact same amount at this point in the life cycle of a set. Everyone flips their shit until someone posts the same graphic that they always post which shows it goes right back up again at the release of the new set.
As for Savjz, people get bored man. He's been streaming HS since the game began . Sometimes you have to move on. I imagine he probably comes back when the new set comes out.
I know this is a hard concept for a lot of people to grasp, but you can play two games. EVEN THREE!
MtgA is much more gratifying to play, your decisions actually matter and besides some annoying teferi decks there aren't really any "cancer" decks that you just sigh when you see it plus a lot of decks are viable so no need to be 50% psychmelom druid spam
The card obtaining system is much better in my opinion, no dusting means not everyone will use the same 4 tier 1 decks creating more diversity
I still play hs but mostly on the phone during bus or boat trips to go to school
How long have you been playing CCGs? At some point, every game has "cancer" because players are whiny.
Can we change the forum titles of all panicking drama queens to Doomsayer so that we don't forget who they were in a couple of months when everyone is back playing Hearthstone again because Magic and Artifact are both secretly pay to win and really really really boring.

don't let that Billie_Lurk guy hear you saying that, you'll get called a fanboy or w/e insult he fancies using on that day, I'm sure you've seen his comments around he does nothing but complain about hearthstone and try and promote artifact, anyone that disagrees with him gets abuse thrown at them. lol

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
I'm a much bigger fan of MTG than Hearthstone and I feel like other than the obvious reasons of "they just want to try something new/sponsored to do it/it was just released so it has hype", another big reason is just how the game is played. Because people can interact on other people's turns, it makes the game feel more interactive. It's not the type of game where it boils down to "if my opponent draws X then he wins guaranteed" because often times you can have counter play to it. Sure some games do eventually boil down to a top deck, but leading up to it there is a lot of things that can happen. Alongside that, the whole blocking mechanic makes sure that people aren't cramming their decks full of small efficient minions and going face such as in Hearthstone.
The bigger reason why it's getting a lot of attention is because standard (the format for MTG:A) recently rotated out 4 blocks, 2 of which were incredibly problematic and resulted in getting a lot of cards banned (first time in several months) and the other 2 shoved down an aggressive deck down everybody's throats. With Guilds of Ravnica coming out, not only is the story going back to a historically loved world, but it's also pushing out one of the worst standard metas in years. People are excited about this and want to play with the new cards.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
No card game is perfect, and I definitely think MtG is the better game in terms of design and interaction. I played MTGA a little last night, and it was a pretty good experience. One thing I'll say is largely in Hearthstone's favor though is the UI. It's simplicity and clean aesthetic make navigation really easy, and the bright colors are just pleasant.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Will Magic have Leagues? Or is that coming "next quarter" ?

Streamers are getting sponsored to play this sh#it...
They are making like 3000$ per hour, of course they will play it

Source ?
Do you have access to the source code of Hearthstone ?
Are the devs not commenting there code or something ?
There is a thing called an uninstall button. Nobody cares that you are quitting Heathstone

Do or do not. There is no try.
Yes...because there's certainly not tryharding in other competitive games.... <crickets>
Also, it's somehow casual and tryhard at the same time? Which is it?
