A lot of HS streamers made a move to MTG - (A game that I am not particularly fond of) for the time being and some of them said they are not touching HS until the new expansion is released.
MTG:A has just left closed beta. Most of this streamers are probably playing it for one of two reasons (or maybe both): 1) Wizards of the Coast (the company behind paper magic and MTG:A) is sponsoring them to highlight the new game as it is now in open beta and is the right time to capture new players, 2) MTG:A is the "hot thing" right now when it comes to digital CCGs. Also, the audience for MTG:A is different from that of HS so streamers start streaming the "hot thing" in order to generate new viewers and subscribers to their channels. We won't know if HS streamers are going full-time to MTG:A until a few months down the line when the novelty wears off.
MTG has the same problem Gwent has (and I really like Gwent), and honestly it looks like Artifact is going to have - they're really boring to watch.
Exactly, Unless you know the mechanics and the cards. I am not planning to learn or waste time on any other card game.
And how did you learn how to play Hearthstone? Did you just know how to play? Also the fact that you associate card games with wasting time is telling. Show us where Team 5 touched you and maybe we help you recover to the point where you are having fun and not wasting time.
I think it's fine that people are shifting, especially given that MGT:A just came out so an influx makes total sense. Hearthstone is big enough that it can survive that at least for a while. After the hype dies down, a lot of them will likely return. And if MGT:A does manage to retain those streamers/players after the hype, then it puts pressure on Blizzard to make improvements to Hearthstone to try to bring them back. As a Hearthstone player, you'll likely be unaffected or will benefit from this in the long run.

I really hope that happens. The truth is I don't want to see Hearthstone dying in a miserable way. :(
Not sure if MTG is boring to watch, but it's MUCH harder to understand what's going on in an MTG match as there's a lot more going on mechanically and less going on visually. Myself I'm playing it and surprised how my games are already deep into everything from gates to planeswalkers to flying trample hexproof kicker dragons with 3 scry. I literally have Day 9's Spellslingers videos to thank for me being able to keep up with it. I actually get why Blizzard fusses about the Classic/Basic set being 'simple' now.
The casters and editors will have to be on #*$#90 POINT with guiding a community where most have probably never seen a game of Magic played and are joining in because "Oh, that card game I've been hearing about since forever is finally a game."
As for myself, right now I'm playing both as MTG works better on my PC than Hearthstone does but MTG doesn't have a mobile app. It's less about 'which is better' and almost like comparing a platformer to an FPS. A lot of folks jumping to MTG are probably doing so because Hearthstone has always been the waiting room for a proper MTG game in the first place.
The BIG thing is how MTG handles Arena. The cards and balance aren't an issue since.. well it's MTG. But Wizards aren't as experienced in running a F2P game as many others and no good game survives bad handling. They can easily shoot themselves in the foot between now and the full release.
OTOH, blizzard really ****REALLY**** shot themselves in the foot, mouth, and spleen with declaring Tournament mode dead with no alternative (I could see them say "Well we put Tournament mode aside because we wanted to work on Guilds." or "...to work on getting a Custom Mode ala Starcraft 2". But a vague "social features".. meh) and with suggesting no balance changes at a time when everyone and their papa wants to see them soon for various reasons.
Note that I never cared for the whole "stay and bash a game I don't play" mess many love to do, so as long as you see my massively long essays I'm still playing.
As far as the rest of you, I say this: install both games, play both for a bit (literally playing both at the same time), then one morning, put both on the same screen and go "what would I want to play right now." and play that for a few days ignoring any cries of 'keeping up' or 'my collection' or 'the dailies!' After a while, see if you've been playing both games or have been sticking to just one. I've been doing that and so far Hearthstone has been beating everything else and tied with games like Fire Emblem and Clash Royal (who ruined themselves on their own). We'll see how
Wizards (MTGArena) owner is just paying streamers to sponsor the game.
Yeah, but even when they are paid for that, they could have said just no. Also, the sponsored videos are being very well received by people, which is what really matters and is not a common thing (many people hate sponsored videos). :D
I played magic for 20 years. I gave up because MOL is straight out of 1995 whereas HS is a nicer software program. I have been looking into MTG Arena as a way to get away from HS. I don't blame anyone leaving HS. The dev team is terrible.
who cares, i mean they plaed 8 hours a day the same fucking game everday... its gets boring for sure.
artifact is the same as MTG Arena, its fucking complicated hense not many will watch it or keep up with it, hearthstone is just really simple and easy to play most of the time. i watch streams to be entertained not to think about every single cards whats its doing .

Blizzard needs to step their game up or they will keep losing their fanbase.
What are your thoughts on this?
tbh, I will still play it but I wish them good luck, they deserve it that this game crashes so hard...

Just some streamers. You can't watch them all at same time anyway...
who cares about streamers ? !
I'm so happy about this, hehe. :)

I would assume the Hearthstone community since they are the ones watching Hearthstone streams...
This is what happens when the only meaningful decision you can make while playing Hearthstone is what deck to play.
a new card game comes out and you're all surprised that some HS streamers play it ? Lmao..
''what's going on'' MAYBE THEY JUST WANT TO TRY A NEW GAME ? Jesus

In your face, Blizzard!!! :)
