personally, i can only remember 2 things specifically. having almost no previous knowledge of any cards in the game (back in i think april 2014 somewhere), was a game against a warlock who played Lord Jaraxxus. and i was like WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? being baffled so much of how the hell you get this or what it was i left the game and thought he was cheating.... lol :)
some hours later that day i went 6:3 in arena for some reason, having no idea what i was even doing
I got a free arena ticket. I wanted to sleep, but thought if i exited hearthstone i would lose the ticket. Luckily i went 1-3 or so because i thought healing was really important ;)
Yep, think it was the 1st week of the game, went 7-3 with my first arena run as a Hunter, then 5-3 with Hunter again, then blew the next run playing Priest like a drunk spastic, because I had no idea how to draft priest. Opened 2 Savannah Highmane and 2 Eaglehorn Bow that day, and didn't stop Smorc'ing for months.

I wasn't planning on going for a run today. But those cops came out of nowhere.
also, i think one of the first decks i built that day was like an almost full deck of taunts. can't really remember the reasoning behind it, but it must've been something like "you can't kill me at any time". little did i realize that if your full board is taunt, literally nothing has taunt if you get the idea :)
Earliest specific memory I have was opening my first Golden Legendary, Gahz'rilla. Reminds me of the time I disenchanted all of my Paladin cards just to craft Dr. Boom. Bastard felt impossible to open in a pack after farming GvG packs for so long.
I remember that I liked to listen for old good music from Warcraft while waiting for the opponent. Played some arena, was always picking biggest minion offered, manage to win some games. Faced a mage while playing constructed, was waiting few turns for my polymorhped ogre to turn back from chicken form (similar for Warcraft, when polymorph was temporary). Was really surprised to see that Harvest Golem summoned another minion after being killed, that card seemed so overpowered.
I remember my first battle on ladder. Was using a Druid full of taunts and came up against a guy who played Ysera. Thought it was the best card in the game and unbeatable.
I started playing after TGT, and my few days were against the Innkeeper, as I wanted to beat every class on Hard before going against a human.
Warlock was a hard nut to crack, those damn Doomguards gave me a really hard time.
When I defeated Gul'dan, I started playing ranked with a crappy Mage deck that had lots of Spell Damage and a terrible mana curve. However, I managed to get to Rank 17 with it :) Nowadays, that deck wouldn't even overcome Rank 25 xD
I remember thinking that Warlock was a weak class with crappy heropower until I played against a Handlock! That was the first deck I met which had a strategy behind it!
I don't remember exactly the first day, but I remember that I was rampant on the game (was unemployed the month I started) and played three weeks for quite some hours every day. That was March 2016. Was looking on icy veins for a craftable deck as I didn't want to spend money and then I played Sottle's aggro paladin and subbed the LoE cards.
Grinded to Rank 5 and was added by players every second game to get told how bad I was and still won because of playing a stupid aggro deck xD And yes, they were right, lol.
and what was it like?

good times :)
happy to hear your stories!
First time on ladder:
I, with a mere Midrange Hunter at rank 25, versus a full Highlander Priest that raped me.
Leper Gnome
Yeah, back before release. Played Mage. Got double Mirror Image and Mana Wyrm in the starting hand. Felt like a champ. What did I know.

.
I remember opening an angry chicken which was RARE(!) so of course that had to go in my deck.
Played tutorial and didn’t like it. Didn’t like the idea that minions can’t block, left the game with unfinished tutorial. Came back few months later

Come visit my Card Emporium. Strange things, you will find inside...
Come take the test, if you're daring. Feel free to show me your results in a message.

I remember putting Stampeding Kodo in ALL my decks. I thought, decent stats and kills a minion? OP!

And yes, they were right, lol.
Day 1 was during Season 2 for me. My first attempt at a deck was Mage with + Spell Power augmenting burn cards.
It was pretty bad but now Blizzard are pushing the archetype after all these years!
When i first started Naxx first wing was free..So i got into zoo pretty easily.
As for the first day,i had no clue what i was doing.
