As a f2p player too, I can sympathize with you but as to why there is such distaste for aggro, I think people believe that playing reactively requires more skill than playing proactively for whatever reason
you're making it seem like you need skills to actually play odd rogue… even a hamster could pilot the deck to legend.
So... have you done it?
Even a Hamster could power a lightbulb by running on a wheel. I don't need to do that to know a Hamster can do it.
Logic doesn't seem to be your strong suit FireBurn.
Odd Rogue is one the easiest high tier decks to pilot. You play the cards that you draw, keep tempo, and hit face with weapon.
It's annoying to some because it comes in 1 variation. There maybe some lists that opt to not include Blood Knight as a tech card. And that's it, same deck every time. Anyone playing this deck outside of Ranked Mode is a morally-lacking, egotistical shell of a human who plays hearthstone to feel good about themselves.
I play odd Rogue b/c I want to be competitive even though I'm basically f2p (I pre-purchased 50 Boomsday packs). I already owned Edwin, so Baku and Leeroy seemed solid crafts anyway.
Sitting and waiting for spreading plague and armoring up is such skill right? Anyhow, I think Odd Rogue is not SUPER easy to play, especially in the current meta in the high ranks, where there are a ton of slow control type decks. Is it even in the top of the meta right now? Perhaps in the lower ranks.
i agree! i crafted wizbang, wanted to try some cool decks. when i was playing with odd warrior, mech paly, druid decks,i don think it was too difficult or anything, you need to counter stuff, you can win at late game cause the armor/value. personally i get bored with both aggro or control decks, so i try different decks from time to time!
Peoples issues with quest rogue are misguided towards the quest when it's the power of cheap charge minions that truely enable that deck
This makes absolutely no sense considering the fact that Quest Rogue isn't even a big bursty otk charge combo deck anymore and it's now a value deck. The quest is 100% the problem, try making a quest rogue deck and removing the quest. Then come back and tell us that southsea and boar got you to legend and are problematic. I can't wait for artifact to come out, the idiocy in this community and refusal to acknowledge where problems stem from just because you like a deck is astounding. Thank god you fools can't understand more than a line or two of text. Stay in this hell hole full of 90-10 matchups.
Odd rogue is the only deck I've found so far that I could take to legend while being extremely drunk for the majority of my games. I think that's pretty telling of how simple it is. I can be nodding in and out of consciousness between turns and still win games.
I don't think control is any better though. "Having to pay attention to the game" isn't a huge gulf to cross so people who play control don't have much to brag about.
I wonder when will people understand that people might not enjoy playing aggro but are forced into it because of the meta + budget.
When you queue in constant quest rogues of course you want to smorc his face off for playing such retarded deck (yes I am entitled to say that when blizz themselves cant even balance the card with constant nerfs).
Not everyone can craft the super control lock or warrior with their dust.
Finally sometimes I don't want to spend a 10-20 min match, I want my quests done so I will queue with my "brainless no skill odd rogue" and either win within 5-7 min tops or lose, queue again and restart!
If you think it is easy to pilot then you have not played it before, not saying its on level with APM priest in terms of decisions. But the turns are easy to predict for a reason, its ODD, the cards used are limited to 50% and you can read his turn 1, 2 and 3.
just play what you want really, as long as nothing is absurdly broken, who cares
if you like to play control games which take about 20mins each and then lose, please don't complain of wasting your time. you know these games take long & if you feel like you're the better player because you play control or (insert archetype here) at the end of the day a win is a win
to make it even more clear, you play cards to earn gold which then grant you more cards to play more cards etc. etc. etc.
after all, what's really the point. it's an endless loop of success and frustration where you smash some keyboards every once in a while
Btw there ARE complicated control decks out there. Its really not correct to say Druid or Warrior are easy or autopilot decks. Players bait out removals and dont flood the board, so the control player have to carefully evaluate what ressources to use.
I have a lot of fun with Deathrattle Hunter atm and its far from auto. Had a very long game vs Odd Warrior just now and we both went into fatigue. Epic game with a lot of thinking^^
Any hunter with Rexxar is heavily favored vs. Odd Warrior. Never play tracking or Subject Nine if you run it, play Rexxar, build a big beast every turn, and win. Warrior has limited answers to big minions while Rexxar has unlimited threats. Warrior also struggles to make threatening boards so you have lots of time to get to Rexxar.
Not true at all. Odd Warrior can outvalue Rexxar if it comes out too late thanks to Omega Project and Elise. And stalling to that point isn't exactly hard either. And secret/spell/midrange hunters all have a 40% winrate against it.
Fair enough about Secret, Spell, and Midrange hunters vs. Odd Warrior but those don't really see much play at Legend. It's mostly Deathrattle which is favored vs. Odd. Rexxar's unlimited beasts outvalue 5 random Un'Goro cards and 6 random mechs.
Well it is not that easy, since both assume a fair match to the point both players have play their DK. You are now ussually 4-6 card closer fatigue than the Warrior. You may have unlimited beast but the Warrior have big tempo advantage with lots of Rush mech from asembly , removals so a good warrior will spam the board and usually the hunter cant recover from that. In my deck with reach Legend yesterday by beating 3 Hunter in a row , all played Rexxar before I play my DK. I have tech Alex and Gorehowl especially for the Hunter matchup. Whenever I grab the board like I said I Alex him and ussually the Hunter cant recover from that play
Back to the topic, I understand why casual players hate Odd Rogue but cant fathom why pro players hate the decks too. They have to understand that aggro decks is a vital part of HS eco system. They prey on combo decks while being the food for control decks which in turn being the food of combo decks. And to be honest, every aggro deck is as annoying to play against, because their obvious gameplan is to lethal you before turn 6 anyway.
Even a Hamster could power a lightbulb by running on a wheel. I don't need to do that to know a Hamster can do it.

It's because it's a deck that's just plain seen too often on the ladder, and it's extremely easy to play, very forgiving of mistakes, and very linear.
I play odd Rogue b/c I want to be competitive even though I'm basically f2p (I pre-purchased 50 Boomsday packs). I already owned Edwin, so Baku and Leeroy seemed solid crafts anyway.
A lot of people on this forum are elitist assholes that think they are better than others just because they play control decks over aggro.

Hi my dood.
i think the same thing!

Odd rogue is not hard to play. Face mage is harder.

I've played against odd rogue, 5 of 8 games this morning (rank 9). If I don't play against it majority of my time it doesn't bother me.

I love this deck so much it's great and make me to legend 2 months July and August and also give me golden rouge which is my first class that gold.
