Does anyone else notice that the game became more pragmatic than before (which for me is better), like what I mean is there are less RNG sillyness and just straight up rock/paper/scissors kind of decks.
I mean watching the global games and dreamhack this weekend, you really feel the quality of plays/decks have become better and most classes have a sort of viable deck maybe apart from priest (unless you like the topsy). But now there is nothing similar to the old spiteful/pirate/babbling/yogg
While you are saying that there is less RNG people are wirting salty posts about Rexxar,Hagatha and Tempo Mage because they have a huge RNG factor :D It is all about point of view ;)
There are less decks that rely on RNG to win but the game being rock paper sccissors also sucks dick you know the result of every match-up on like 80% of the scenarios tbh the other 20% is just the regular luck of the draw of any card game, like you know you lose playing control if you queue against Quest Rogue unless your opponent totally sucks or manages to somehow draw the most shit hand ever and your hand is the nuts or stuff like that, and the meta right now is actually filled with those types of match-ups.

Shit draw is just another form of RNG. Although I feel the pendulum has swung to far to rock, paper, scissors from total RNG fiesta. Last season I had 25/1 run to legend because I hit a pocket of everyone playing rock when I was playing paper.
Feels great to me but sucks for everyone getting blocked just because they prefer rock.
I feel though the game is at its least rewarding point for making high level plays. Often not mattering and not changing the outcome of the game, especially in high level play. That's about as frustrating as it gets. I never felt bad losing to skillful plays, now it just feels like you lose sometimes by queueing unlucky, and that is beyond a shitty feeling and probably turns alot of players off.
Tbh, I don't feel there is much of a difference between a Yogg dealing lethal and a bad card draw RNG.
Sure, card draw can be improved with proper deckbuilding, but when you can't draw your tech card, it is just as bad and lethal as Yogg throwing Pyroblast in your face - and possibly more likely, unless you are a Warlock...
Dunno, I never felt oppressed by RNG fiesta, not more than the usual card draw RNG.

Any card game physical or virtual is about drawing your cards, that is why some decks theoretically are amazing but sucks in execution because their build is not consistent. For example paladin and zoo having 12 1-mana cards is there fora reason so he always has something to play early on, that is why they are consistent aggro decks. Malf-DK was deemed so bad on reveal but it is now a core for any druid archtype excpt taunt because druid are consistent about having 7 mana to play him early on.

Rexxar is RNG but limited to two buckets so you kind of know your outs but there is still decision making. Hagatha is a worst offender and it is the luck of the draw but that was makes every game different but if you are unfavoured she is not a 100% win condition it just improves your odds. Tempo/Face Mage is disgusting to be honest and totally relies on drawing the perfect curve so I think its my least favourite deck to face atm.

But I think that is the best part now, you assess the meta for the day and queue accordingly, I have never had more consistent wins and I have been playing since TGT.
When I see control I just go mill druid or warlock combo destroyer and watch them concede. Odd rogue carried me easily to rank 2 praying on zoo locks and sometimes odd paladin if you have multi 1 drops as opener.
My point is I think the game is in a healthier place right now, and I think the 3rd set coming this year will even be more consistent. I read many people complaining about Booms Day but I think its the best expansion so far in terms of flavour, cards, meta and even solo play. Witchwood and Catacombs were just unbearable I used to just get to rank 5 and call it a day for the month, but right now I am enjoying climbing a bit more.
I think a deck that can be quite RNG dependent is odd warrior. Sometimes you get good cards from Omega assembly, but sometimes it's that skater mech, with faithful lumi and a goblin bomb. And the hero power is from then on very RNG based.
