I like when they have the legend back because I know the probably won't screw around and I get a good match - unless they are just screwing around. I don't like winning off opponent misplays, well, I do like winning still, just better if they don't help.
As for Pandaria, I have it, on 3 F2P accounts, two of which have never been higher than 19 and not enough cards for anything but basic hunter.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
It did not require any skill to optain but was given out ad a free loot to everyone attending a 12 Dollar event in America. So it is NA only. It is one of the least intimidering card backs possible.
Power Core I can understand. At least you had to qualify although you could lose all your games.
I am with LingBlade91. Heroic wings are something you deserve once you complete them.
Dalaran Flame is the college affiliated card back…
And the one you speak of when attending to approved esport events is Power Core.. you can get it by either participating or attending to official tournaments.
When they launched the TESPA partnership there was an event where attendees got the dalaran flame cardback - I think that's probably what he's referring to

I didn’t know that. Back then you’d get it through codes and it seems like they aren’t making codes anymore
Legend has never been intimidating ever since Pirate Warrior was born xD

none, you should never be intimidated just because someone has a certain card back. lol
It can be intimidating when you are a new player.
When I started playing 3 years ago I kinda felt intimidated by Legend card back lol, now I'm thinking nothing of it.
Although I would say that if blizzard added new boarders to the game at like 1000+ wins, I'd definitely feel more satisfied beating a player who has 2k wins for exemple on a class (and maybe even a bit stressed if it's in arena since arena is a lot more casual and I know I'll need to tryhard)
The pandarian cardback is interesting, these are usually players acting hard but probably haven't reached legend and struggle even with the strongest decks in the game. Nothing else is worth talking about.
I don't notice them more often than not. It's only reading this thread that's made me realise that I have Pandaria set as my default back, when I'm trying out weird meme decks and haven't bothered giving them a themed card back. So if you ever played someone with awful, gimmicky deck and the Pandaria back, it may well have been me.
Yes, I try to pick a card back based on a flavour of the deck I'm playing. Don't judge me.
Losing to a player with the classic card back tilts me, even if the player is in Legend.
Okay. Now i will change cardback from heroic ONiK to classic just because i can tilt someone hahaha they will think: "ohh looks like im playing vs newbie"....few moments later..... "Ohh shittt. He have golden coin" hahahahahahah now i only need to play casual to achive that...xd :)
Golden Celebration for me. Only faced one and beat it. Else I tend to pay attention to PowerCore and Thrill of Victory Card backs.
Why those 2 and not Dalaran Flame ?
For the reason you mentioned in an earlier post to be honest, it's a product of the US TESFA / College system. It doesn't really represent anything to me aside from a specific age range from the US. Nothing else. I believe Thjis (as an example) secured one from a viewer for free and they're on e-bay for a fairly unreasonable amount of money. The inferences I can glean from Dalaran Flame don't intimidate me at all.
PowerCore and Thrill of Victory indicate either attending or taking part in a tournament. I competed in HCT Italy (Varese) this year and got the card back then. Clearly I'm a "Noddy Not-Very good" type player and I got it by paying for the flight, hotel and all that. if I see those card backs on the other side I anticipate a high calibre player or an individual that's passionate about the game.
I am not really affected by cardback, but I use it as an indicator along with golden hero and such to get an idea of a players experience. I really like to see people using different cardbacks and thinking back on when that was new and what the meta was like then, says something about the player. But after reading this thread I changed my cardback to Pandaria to go with all 9 golden heroes. Expect my golden Whizbang deck which uses "Sparkles", because reasons

Golden whizbang does feel like it needs a special cardback right haha. I use my legend cardback for it, just to increase the "pretentiousness" people might experience lol

That makes sense.
Also just so you know, apparently they stopped printing codes for Dalaran Flame over a year ago and all the unused codes have expired.
So it's not possible anymore to acquire them on ebay.

Basic one cos it means they're badass.
I hate the classic one. It just looks newb to me

Had to go for Pandaria. It just has that special feeling in it.

I also do this. I have the Legend card back as my default but I only reached legend once in 3 years, so I guess I don't put much stock in it.
