I have the feeling that before any nerf, BP has not been able to change sustancially the format, little by little players are coming back to the arquetypes before the expansion. Only GI has been able to get a place in many decks, and resurrect quest rogue by itself...
I think it’s more a problem with the player base. People are unwilling to try new things and would rather stomp ladder with the same boring decks their used to than have fun.
yeah, I was having a lot of fun at first. There's a few new cards that are awesome, but there's sooooo many dumb combo decks. Once they nerf druid and zoo-warlock (Prince Keleseth needs to die in a fire ffs. Worst design ever.), the meta will be a lot better. quest rogue is BS, but in the grand scheme of things, is not that bad compared to like every druid deck with a combo win-condition and UI + Spreading Plague + naturalize/spellstone. I literally concede whenever I get matched vs a druid, because I know that even if I win, it's still going to be a miserable experience. When you lose, they have like 40 HP and a full hand of cards, don't play minions all game, then kill you from full health. When you win, they play no minions still, but dont draw spreading plague, or U.I. You feel like crap either way. Bloodreaver Gul'Dan needs to go as well. Idk what they were thinking with that god-awful overpowered piece of crap card.
Huh? A lot of new cards are used. Lots of archetypes have new cards added to them. Almost every class has new cards to play with. It does probably have less new cards than previous expansions, but a lot will see play after KOTFT, Un'goro, K&C rotate.
You aren't going to make new archetypes that people will actually play that are stronger than those from last years expansions because they're lowering the power level. Next year a lot of boomsday and witchwood archetypes that just aren't strong enough now will start to form. The only reason Witchwood made so many new archetypes is Baku/Genn.
ha-ha?! It's most impactful expansion ever. I never saw soo many decks after one expansion drop. Look at HSreplay or any other data collecting site. In top tier 1 is not much, but there is aloot of alternative decks that are not for ladder but for fun. Personally if people wouldn't be focused on "quick win or lose" meta would be different.

LOL , it’s not the player base.
If you would gift a Formula 1 Team a new car with 12 Horsepower ,it’s understandable they will take their old car from last season. If Blizzard wants no new midrange/ aggro decks ( wich Mechs could have become if they had become some powerful one and two drops ) , but boosts (kinda) OTK decks , there is no sense in playing something else . ( ofc aggro will always be decent) So they buffed existing archetypes like Zoo or Oddrouge, rather than powercreeping out a completely new deck . Wich is fine for most ppl.
To sum it up , it has nothing to do with the player base , rather than what direction Blizzard wants their game to go in.
The only reason the majority of people that have an issue are having an issue is because ______________. There's not really a way to fix the game so that everyone is happy, and there's not really a solid reason why some people don't care too much for the recent expansion.
I feel like it'd be nice to have an expansion that doesn't have a specific identity pushed. People are only really disliking things because they likely aren't playing Wild a lot. Standard always has a main block of cards that see more play because they aren't really satisfied with playing with a lot of the same cards before the recent expansion. Here's the problem that this creates:
People playing with the new cards more = The new expansion is boring/stale/not interesting. People not playing with the new cards enough = The new expansion is a flop/not interesting.
It's one or both of these two things: The players are never happy or the expansion's identity is too prevalent that the cards are obnoxious or don't feel engaging enough.
I thought the expansion was pretty good in general. I didn't expect the ladder to change much though because the old decks from the previous expansions was proven to be good and they either got a few new tools or none at all but they are still strong. The main issue is that a lot of decks still use many of last year's cards. It seems like Blizzard is trying to not to super powercreep cards, like what they did in KotFT.

Exactly. Blizz adding card's that are not super strong, they wanna chill meta. Imo KoFT was the worst expansion just because broken card's it brought.
Witchwood had almoat no impact in the format after its appearance, and a bunch of nerfs were need to get it....however at that time blizzard was in a better position to nerf cards since annual rotation was about to come...but...do you think that it will apply same recipe?

What do you think?
Every expansion is the most disappointing expansion because ppl are never happy with the low powerlevel or high powercreep.

Good expansion means all classes balanced and playable. Have to see that long time ago,
However, worst expansions:
1. Witchwood
2. Boomsday
3. Kobolds.
Yes, the latest ones, (sigh..)

Im sorry? in the latter half of witchwood all of the classes had a really good deck and were balanced

Do you play the same game ?
Witchwood after nerf had most playable decks and classes, even Boomsday have all classes playable except priest.
There are real problems with the meta but not enough diversity is not one of them.
I was much, much more disappointed in witchwood. I've actually had fun with some of the new boomsday deck, which can't be said for the witchwood.
Class diversity is certainly up, but the meta is really frustrating right now imo.
The amount of OTK or otherwise combo decks puts a serious limitation when deckbuilding for ladder.
I used to laugh at people who called this game Solitaire, but now it actually does have that feel.
The interaction between players is nearly non-existent.
Nature is the Day.
Man is the Sun.
Woman is the Moon.
The Stone is the Sky.
The Art is the Way.
Yes, and I watch tournament decks every time and there were never every class included.

the expansion has been quite good, as i think this is the longest we've gone post expansion without the meta settling.
