Why now a days there are so many “Budget decks”? I mean there are probably a lot of new player, most of them F2P, but lately the number of this kind of deck is outrageous, and the worst thing is that they don’t help new players so this is not a salt thread it’s for newer players:
Stay AWAY from budget decks, with the exception of some aggro ones, just don’t build them, especially the “Budget Control” decks, usually control decks run a lot of legendaries/epic cards and the whole gameplay it’s different from aggro/midrange and since you can’t get good card being “budget” you don’t even have a win condition; it’s like trying to build an lamborghini with junkyard parts, it won’t work. There are some of those decks that works, like agrro rogues and hunters, but my honest tip as a F2P myself ( since WotOG ) is to just get packs with quest and stuff and play decks around the legendaries you get, once you really understand the game and what do you like and what not, then commit to one deck and start saving dust to make it, with no budget cards, it’s 100 times more satisfing to have an expensive ( or semi-expensive ) deck that you really enjoy and that can actually be viable.
You're right about control decks, to a point. You can make a very budget midrange/combo/control priest deck (basically using Inner Fire as a win condition, along with tough minions). My coworker has gotten to rank 15 with such a deck. He's also made his own midrange mage deck (using deathknight Jaina, so it's at least got that).
Those budget decks aren't meant to take you to the legend ranks. They're meant to give very new players some archetypes to play around with. If they find they like the playstyle, then they can craft some of the legendary substitutions when they get enough dust. Any good budget deck guide will include one of these legendary substitution lists for them.
I don't really understand your point haha.

Ok I think the deck is solid enough, as it beats what control is intended to beat - aggro. I didn't do so well on ladder however because I ran into very little aggro, and quite a bit of Hunter and other things that control fails hard against (like Kingsbane Rogue).

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

Nice, i’m thinking about a making some kind of deck building competition with some rules, should be fun for players who are looking for something new or just a challenge like you Kaladin

As i said, some decks with low dust cost are very good, what i also mean by “budget” is a cheaper version of a deck that would most likely cost a lot more and/or has a lot of legendaries, for example and healzoo without Khekeset but still with the rest of the cards, it works, same for other decks that don’t even need more than 1 legendary ( odd rogue for example )

How did Missile Launcher perform?
Not so well in Warlock. I'm having another go in Hunter. Decklist:

ORLY
That sounds like a challenge. What's the dust cap to be considered "budget"? I have tonight free and will play at rank 5 with whatever I come up with.

Less than 1 legendary and a half worth of dust, maybe 2
And i don’t even play Paladins
3200 or less, then?
Done. Will post results at the end of the night.

I have a decent collection but lack a lot of the legs and epics for control decks, so I'm happy about them.
Unpopular opinion: Rogue is OP
Can’t wait
And i don’t even play Paladins
Ok first iteration of budget (no voidlord) control warlock. Just beat a Healzoo with this.
edit: shit, I made some changes, am now 100 dust over the threshold.
edit 2: updated, should be exactly 3200.

What about this Midrange Hunter? 2800 dust, seems to be tier 2.
Nice

Budget decks are trap, indeed. In theory, those decks can kill top meta decks, but then you realise consistency is irritatingly low.
Sure, some aggro budget decks - with enough commitment - can achieve results.
But, as being said above, main purpose of budget decks is to present some archetyps and to help learn basic deckbuilding.
P.S. Whizbang has only 5 / 18 45/55% winrate decks.

Not so well in Warlock. I'm having another go in Hunter. Decklist:
Scalehide + Dire Frenzy because dying sucks. Rusty Recycler + other magnetic minions because dying sucks.
