Seems like if you aren't playing an aggro deck that the only viable decks are combo ones. Maly rogue, shudderwock, mecha'thun warlock/druid/priest, test subject priest... the list goes on. Most midrange or control decks seem to have no place in the meta from what I've seen.
Because Blizzard refuses to make an anti-combo card like Dirty Rat. But don't worry they'll print another anti-secret card and send yet another mage classic card to the hall of fame.
Is this really a problem? All other archtypes have had one or more periods in the meta where that one archtype had a monopoly, so to speak, on what was the most consistent competitive deck for multiple seasons.
Control - Control Warrior, Control Lock, Jade Druid, Reno Lock
"Combostone" is just the HS equivalent of WoW's balance model of 'taking turns' (ie Pass the power to someone other than the last person who had it, just to pass it again to someone else after a time.)
No, the stats start at the start of the expansion. And dont even matter if they arent optimiezed. How do u optimize malygos druid that has been the top 1 deck before the expansion? When even the most competitive one is the fatigue one. Maybe the metagame shifts, but not in the combo style. Priest one sucks reaaally hard, malygos druid is outclased by the mill one and the list go on.
Are you serious? All the tier 1 decks you mentioned play more as aggro decks than midrange with the exception of maybe odd mech paladin...
Combo decks aren't even close to being refined and still boasting close to 50% WR. That's with the meta being fresh and aggro being the most dominant it typically ever is. Once it slows down a little you'll see those winrates spike for combo decks.

It just feels bad to create a heavy control style deck because, sure it'll beat aggro, but it'll be an auto lose to combo. I know this is a rock paper scissors style of game, but the efficiency of combo decks seems to be higher than it ever has been before....and I've been playing since the second month of launch.
Even shaman plays as aggro with double fire elemental, kalymos, agatha, arcane dynamo... wow. And mech paly obviously a midrange one. So 2 midrange and 2 aggro. Then tier 2 (that is almost the same). Even Watrlock (Midrange/Control) Token Shaman (Aggro) Big Druid (Control) Bomb Hunter (Midrange) Big Mage (Control). Yall have no idea of what you are talking about, complaining with no stats in hand
What's funny is I've been playing maly rogue, which shows only a 40% winrate, but I'm 9-5 with it(Haven't had much time to play since release). Must be a lot of either unlucky or unskilled players using it...
Zoo isn't even that crazy. Sure it's one of the top decks right now, but thats because other decks haven't been refined yet. Aggro always dominates in the beginning

Dude, literally, every top deck atm (except spell hunter) that is performing well is midrange. And every combo deck sucks.
Tier 1:
- Odd Rogue (58% WR)
- Odd Mech Paladin (58% WR)
- Even Shaman (58% WR)
- Zoo (58% WR)
Tier 2:
- Spell Hunter
- Even Warlock
- Toke Shaman
- Big Druid
- Bomb Hunter
- Big Mage
https://hsreplay.net/meta/
Every single Combo deck is below 50% WR
Bomb Hunter, Mech Paly/Warrior, Boomship Warrior, Big Mage, Taunt Warrior, Tempo Hunter, Spider Rogue...
Glad you're aware of what's being played not even a week in...
For the forseeable future it is just demonic project
Well I got legend with Big Spell Mage, as long as aggro exists control will be a thing.
Top deck is cheat
Because those stats include before the expansion and the combo decks haven't been optimized yet... just wait.
Doin’ well with Maly Druid here

Aggro - Undertaker Hunter, Mech Mage, Smorc Shaman, Pirate Warrior, Zoolock
Midrange - Midrange Pally, Midrange Shaman, Evolve Shaman, Tempo/Keleseth Rogue, Odd Rogue
Control - Control Warrior, Control Lock, Jade Druid, Reno Lock

I think it will still be an aggro-dominated meta, giving that zoolock also gets several strong cards. Zoolock looks disgusting right now.
Did you even do the numbers on it Inverna? 21 out of the 30 cards in even shaman cost 4 or less...
They play those bigger cards as a way to still pose a threat if the opponent makes it to the late game. So 3 aggro and 1 midrange.
you forgot deathrattle rogue. that has over 55% winrate. I guess it's kind of a combo deck in ways, but it's played like a mid range tempo deck IMO.
