at least in standard what most people didn't realize is the early game minions pre boomsday are quite bad, there aren't many good 2 drops and 4 too, also the aggro decks of witchwood ran a lot of garbage cards that's why they got countered so hard by druid.
Enter mechs! while obviously not all of them are good there are some really good ones like zilliax, mecharoo, nightmare amalgam and the 1/5 magnetic taunts they are all fairly good and also ODD costed!
oh and the best mech of the set is as it seems wargear those 5 damage extra, "out of nowhere" are quite potent.
both odd mechadin, mech hunter (both suggested lists by firebat) and spiteful mech druid (which I didn't copy but who cares) are doing really really good, and feel very strong so far they feel much stronger in practice than in theory.
even against zoo, and druid that people feared so much, how was your experience with mechs?
They need some more tweaks and changes depending on the meta, but so far I've encountered few Mech tribal decks in Wild and they were doing pretty powerfull things. Boomsday gave mechs a second chance to shine thats for sure :D
The only thing I think is ridiculous is the magnetic "hidden charge".
Come on .. you can't even leave a 1/1 on the board anymore.
It's not hidden. It's how it's supposed to work. They are "Choose 1" minions - be a minion or a buff spell. Buff spells don't have "hidden charge" do they?
They're proving to be a little better than I thought. Some of it is because it's super early in the metagame. There is still the problem of most of the mechs not being very good...which is probably a blessing.
Today in my free brawl pack I got Barongeddon, then I had a cup of fresh green tea. As a result of that, I think Priest is OP because my keyboard is not a mechanical one. I hope Blizzard will address this issue.
Yeah I'm loving the mechs! I always have. Have been sad not seeing them around so glad to see them again. Played around with mech hunter yesterday and it was pretty fun.

it's not hidden charge.. you can silence the buffs.. or have actual removal.. most decks I played against didn't had much removal though.. so maybe my results aren't really showing anything but the fact the meta is very greedy.
If you ever played against Goblin Blastmage, Quartermaster, Houndmaster or any other strong tribe-synergy card, it should not be a big surprise that clearing all mechs is a good idea...
I don't know, Haven'r run into many overwhelming mech decks so far. I've beaten all the mech Hunters I've encountered, with Deathrattle Rogue no less (which I imagined would be difficult, since no healing vs Goblin Bombs seemed like a poor matchup).
As long as they don't completely snowball early and you clear their mechs when they play them there's no issue for me.
Weren't you one of the people calling this expansion Dustday op? Pretty sure you are.
Anyway, yeah. They are really strong especially in paladin. Who would have guessed a bunch of sticky early game minions and what is essentially several unique versions of bonemare would be good? *thinking* I for one am glad. Now beat the shit out of these annoying combo decks.
I like that there's a LOT of neutral mechs. Mages didn't get any which was a big bummer, but I'm working on a Mech Pocket Galaxy mage deck and this far it has pulled off some bonkers stuff, like turning a 2/2 on the field into a 23/24 with taunt/lifesteal/divineshield/deal 1 dmg to all characters. Needless to say, gg

I called the cards unexciting, which they are really just a few cards are really worth playing and the amount of new decks can be counted on one hand so far.. all the archtypes I have seen so far are just improved/different version of old decks, except some of the mech decks that are also sort of old decks with a mech core... I played today A LOT (got my 30 wins today... so around 50 games? ranks 12-5) I barely saw any totally new deck.
After I got up some ranks I actually got some really hard a matchups for the "floop mech spiteful" deck I was climbing with and yeah mech have their weaknesses but they are really strong in the right meta (if people play greedy decks mainly).
I believe in the end mechs have potential but this expansion's cards are quite bland and boring otherwise.
Maybe after the druid nerfs in one month from now.
WOuld be much better if this was the first expansion and the wotchwood was the second one baku and genn just were much mroe exciting to tinker with.. who knows maybe there will be new discoveries.. so far the most fun (And yet strong) deck I found was the floop spiteful mech deck I have been playing.
This deck needs Val'anyr to be really threatening.
I don't have Val'anyr at the moment, but I'm seriously considering crafting it. I'm just hesitant to craft too much before the meta settles, y'know? But if you want to give it a go with Val'anyr, lmk how it goes!

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Really? I can't say I look at player names often...

looking for a good mech deck.

mech paladin is scary lol
Just want to say that I play Mech Paladin, warrior and hunter, and they are a blast, even if I’m still learning to pilot them correctly
