Only free packs, 3 I guess. Will buy more if need, only to get guaranteed legendary. That's how this expansion will go for me. Anyway, if I will need something, I'd better craft, especially I have enough dust.
I have only gold for like 26 packs, excluding the 3(?) free packs. Could have started saving earlier but it's more than in any other expansion so I'm fine with that.
I got the 50 and I have something like 70k gold; I want to open exactly 100 packs and record stats about this, if only to satisfy my curiosity on how lucky/unlucky I was and because 100 is a gorgeously round number.
If it goes poorly I will rage purchase more.
Special thanks to the New Core mall which was able to get my lady to spend enough of my money to help justify this purchase for me in spite of me having splurged on other things recently. :)
You only need about 250 packs to complete the expansion, since you will have enough dust to finish off anything you don't have. So anything above 250 seems like an overkill... but it's your decision, ultimately :)
here is the video from where I'm pulling the calculations (skip to 7:14 for the part) :
I have saved something like *hard thinking*(5286627276+627827×6278282... log(527)^2+78=...) 3 packs, of course the free ones :D

Not everyone. I saved up for a good while to get the 80-pack mega bundle (I always set aside money for pre-orders), and have saved up 5,100 gold. Two free legendaries on login, three free packs from login, and at the end of the month we all get another 3 free packs.
Honestly, it's not always about the money. Some people kill it in arena and make triple the gold I just posted here. There are ways to play for minimal or no real money spent, but it takes time, which not everyone has. And yeah, some people do dump money into Hearthstone, that's their prerogative. Doesn't make them rich, it might just be what they choose to spend their entertainment money on.

50 already opened at the prerelease. Not many more beyond that are going to be paid for. Mechs and magnetic are crazy powerful. That is what has made it difficult for me to be all in with the new set.

I preordered 80 packs this expansion. Hopefully all goes well :)

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
130 from pre order, and 3 for login.
I got no gold and only a couple of hundred dust, so really hoping I pull stuff I wanna use.
Good luck to everyone.
51 packs. Earned the hard way since f2p. Hope I will have better luck than last expansion when I got Emeriss and Dust fallen Aviana
I really need to start playing arena to fill out my collection, especially since I have dusted so many cards in the past just to play decks I wanted.
If I play arena I could get those cards back without having to craft or open them, which is awesome.

Jelly of all the people opening 2-300+ haha
Veni Vidi Vici
I've purchased the 49 Euro (with Amazon Coins) pack by mistake. So now I am not F2p anymore. I also saved 10k gold.
:(
130-something. We'll see if I grind out a quest or two today to get 2 more packs.
250 packs + 9k dust ready!
