I started playing Hearthstone on May 1st 2015. I never expected anything extraordinary but during those 39 months I had a lot of fun moments. Been playing on NA for 39 months and on EU for about 32. My attitude with playing games is very difficult. I want to play but I hate losing. I actually just can't stand when I lose in any game.
There were a few extremely fun decks that I enjoyed playing even when I lost. Like old [Warsong] pre-nerf Patron Warrior. I still play simular deck in wild. But in general I hit rank 5 most of the time and was logging on just go get my dailies done. In last season I reached rank 3 on EU in wild but that's my record. I never even hit rank 2 during my entire gameplay.
And honestly I don't regret it. Maybe hitting legend is that step that I need to stop playing finally. But for now I actually want to hit legend and I'm waiting to see what Boomsday will bring to Wild meta (because I almost never play Standard). I started this season with Wild Even Shaman(12-3) and Wild Even Handlock(6-4) on EU. So in theory it's possible to get there if I had more time and wish. It goes easier when I auto squelch every opponent and disable game sounds.
That's just a message to all new players who are dissapointed they can't hit legend in their first few months playing. I can't do it for the 40th month and I'm honestly fine with it lol. And I bet there might be some other players who share somewhat the same experience to mine.
Dont be sad xd im playing sice release of game and never hit legend either.. Its all about grind..my Best rank was 1 with 5 stars :/ but if you can reach rank 4 or 3 you can reach legend as well. You just need to have aa LOT, like a LOOOOOT, of free time...
I play since January 2015, and until April 2018 i never felt like going for Legend because there is only one reason: The cardback you get. And in my opinion there are other Cardbacks which are looking better, for example the Rainbow Cardback which i dont have because i only play since January 2015 as i said. :x
I'am also playing till Rank 5 for the Season rewards every Season in Wild. And since i never tried to get Legend because it is boring to play the best Decks over and over again i never tried it.
But in April i said to myself: Now i will try it and a did it. I played an even Paladin with Nerubian Eggs, Blessing of Kings, Sylvanas und Cairne for example. Its only a matter of time.
But know there is no Reason to reach Legend again. I better play fun Decks at Rank 5.
Same, because I don’t play enough. You really have to grind hundreds of games. I don’t have the time or motivation to do that. I’d rather play decks I enjoy and not stress my rank.
Never hit Legend either. The problem is: when I play netdecks it feels like cheating. A bunch of broken cards that in combination (e.g. Possessed Lackey, Dark Pact, Carnivorous Cube, Voidlord, Bloodreaver Gul'dan) form a successful deck and everyone's playing it ? Boring, as you already stated.
So I play mostly underwhelming decks around rank 15 that don't have enough support. (Mainly Freeze Shaman or Discolock)
Been playing since august last year and my best is rank 1 which I got in May and Juli. I aswell really feel gutted when I lose. I feel for most people the difference between getting rank 5 and legend is a state of mind.
I think I have 'The rank 5' syndrome. I play quite a lot until I reach rank 5 and then I more or less stop playing and just start doing daily quests. I've try harded (to some degree) to hit legend twice and I reached rank 2 and rank 1 5 stars. Hats off to those people who has the patience.
U guys are all try hards, I have been playing since before the first expansion and have never played a meta deck consistently enough (because it far far too boring) to get past rank 15.
I started playing after the release of OLD GODs. I was playing it casually until MSoG before decided to drop some serious money to play competitively. I reached rank 5 using dragon Priest and pirate warriors. Those new players who doesn't want to pay anything and hit legend in the first few months are quite delusional unless they disenchant their cards and make a tier 1 deck.
After Frozen throne, I lost my passions in playing ranks. Nowadays I just do quest and hover between rank 20-15. Sometimes I will reach rank 10 slowly without effort. Hearthstone is not really a competitive but just a fun game. Too much RNG involved in the game. A pro player should have a really high win rate around 80~90% mark rather than 60%. The fact that I reached rank 5 last time during MSoG playing auto pilot deck showed how much luck involve in this game. However, it is the best fun game that I have ever played.
free to play player here. I have reached Legend only once. just wait for the meta to settle after an expansion, craft a tier 1 deck and just play A LOT, I mean a lot. My Legend run was on wild using an aggro paladin list. I played almost 100 games. It was really something amazing, but I will NEVER do it again. I am just happy reaching rank 5 every season for the dust value. Bottom line is, hitting legend is all about playing a good deck that you are comfortable with and playing a lot. good luck mate.
Yeah same here i usualy kind off try to hit rank five becouse of rewards but than i just play fun decks. I hit rank 2 several times and rank 1 one time but honestly fun is main reason I play this game and meta decks are usually not very fun for me (I guess you will all hate me now but Shudderwock is awsome :D)
can you tell me how to check the date when you start play heartstone?
Just look for ur cardbacks, the oldest one is when u started, Unless u didn't playd ranked in ur first or two months when started, or mayb never hahaha
can you tell me how to check the date when you start play heartstone?
There might be a way to check it, not sure. But I just know it. Because I watched one video on youtube on May 1st 2015 and installed the game on the same day

Thanks for your feedback everyone. Truly didn't expect that.
Frankly, Hearthstone got easier. When I started playing there was just... nothing. Then they changed quests 2 times (removed 40g quests, added more 60g), added chest that you get at the end of the season for you rank, tavern brawl for free pack every week, 9 more deck slots (as a matter of fact), changed ladder system. It is definitely way easier than it was before. But yeah, playing it for fun is all that matters. I don't want to get burned out because I tryharded to legend. Maybe one day I'll have that feeling though time is a big issue.
Game is fun. I just still with they added auto squelch option lol

Yeah, ditto, since beta, I just don't play too much to hit legend. It is just a matter of free time.
This could be my written Text. :)

Play a tier 1 aggro deck at the start of any new expansion release. Easiest legend possible.

Legend rank means nothing if only you're not a full-time pro-player who needs HCT points for top100 finish.
There might be a way to check it, not sure. But I just know it. Because I watched one video on youtube on May 1st 2015 and installed the game on the same day
You can just check your oldest card back.
Golden heroes: Warlock, Druid, Mage, Hunter
