Azalina Soulthief can almost single-handedly shut down any and all Shudderwock decks from now on. With the newest patch, copied card retain any enchantments applied on them. This means that before the patch, if you Mind Visioned your opponent's Kingsbane, you would only have a 1/3 weapon. Now you will get the weapon, alongside any enchantments played on it.
In the case of Shudderwock, that means that Azalina Soulthief replaces your hand with 1-cost Shudderwocks. It won't replay your opponent's battlecry, however, so you'll need some cards like Lifedrinker or some cards that give you armour. Don't worry about fatigue though, because Azalina's battlecry will also be recorded onto Shudderwock, so as long as your opponent has a Shudderwock, you will have a Shudderwock too.
A completely unrelated point though, I realise that Shudderwock has pretty trash design, but is it really that bad? I mean, the deck itself isn't even that good. I play against probably 3-4 Shudderwock Shamans a day, and I wreck them almost every time. Yeah, it's bad design, but I don't think it needs a nerf. We just need to redeem the respect for our clutchy boi through time.
You'd need to run and draw 2 lifedrinkers for this to work, otherwise their shudderwok can deal 6 to your 3 healing. They can also counter this by bouncing their lifedrinker. I've seen someone counter shudderwok already with azalina + drywhisker armorer on Trolden though. Something similar might work
So have you tested that? I had an idea for warrior with Azalina, seaforum bombs and armor gain (raptor and drywhisker). But one guy said he tested Azalina, and it copies SW at 9 mana, not discounted. So looks like Azalina just doesn't work ((
I have actually never witnessed a full shudderwock combo myself as I usually concede when their combo goes off. But if the combo deals more than 30 damage (the second round with discounted shudderwocks) your life gain from Lifedrinker will be useless. Thus, armor would be the best way to go.
Azalina Soulthief, Lifedrinker... nobody will play this crap just to counter 1 deck. Maybe it will be good on rank 15 but not on legend.
Lifedrinker I agree but Azalina is a godsend for midrange decks when controls start to outvalue them, the card was in the edge to be playable, this new behavior vs Shudder decks put her in the game.
So you’ve got to have a battlecry to get it back to hand and so on and so forth, shudderwock is powerful because it chains into itself with the decks battlecry storage
just stealing the card does nothing, you have to have a deck setup that only the shudderwock deck provides if you want the card to be good.
a hard counter is something like demonic project or dirty rat yoinking a core card like shudderwock himself or grumble

You get azalina's battlecry recorded for.ypur shudder... If you still don't see the point then it means you can infinitely copy their hand and they'll always have 1 mana shuddewocks.
The only deck that can probably do this is control warrior as you can get the raptor girl and the armorer to get a bunch of armor every turn and probably beat the shaman of fatigue, it'll take you a ridiculous amount of time and they if they keep a couple wocks on board it could be really problematic for you, hitting you in the face for 2-3 turns with multiple 6/6s could make the difference.
To whoever said no one will play this, might want to check out the current HCT decks.
Azalina, Armorer, Sentry. Lifebringer is nice, but not required. Bring it on is icing on the cake.
That's less battlecries than the wock deck needs to pull off the combo and it cannot fail IF you refrain from playing blood razor.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
Only CW can do this well without fcuk up other matchup too much because 2 Armourer and 1 1-2 Corner sentry are cores to their deck anyway, so they just need to tech in 1 Alizina to do the work.

I realize that in theory you can go infinite with the Razor and Bring it On, but there's something else to consider.
Even if you could theoretically play infinite Wocks, the turn timer is going to confine you to 10-12 in one turn. Then, the next turn you are at risk of having a lot less armor gained when you're back to 1 cost Wocks. I don't know, maybe you can gain enough armor in the Bring it On turn that it doesn't matter, but there's another thing to consider: Unless you have the Bring it On in hand BEFORE YOU PLAY BLOOD RAZOR, then you're taking a risk that you won't draw it in time.
I'm not sure which is better on the percentages. I hear you that you can lose without the Wock being played, but I think that's very rare.

Good for blizzard for not nerfing due to the mob's demands. I don't play shudderwock, but I don't see any problem with it. It's just like any of the other combo decks. Stall out until you draw your cards.
Matter of fact, I think it's about time shaman got a good closer.

Yeah it isn't the best deck, and it hasn't ever been really. The devs themselves have said that they are very wary of nerfing cards from T2-3 decks.

One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.
Or you just play token druid and shit on the Shudderwock decks.

Or new copy cards mechanic will be added after expansion launch?

Disguisedtoast tested it, it works. He shows it at 1:25 of this video https://youtu.be/q2VqUYEA9zw
Hard counter is an overstatement. Has a chance to win is right, not guaranteed.
Times you might not gain armour because there is no minions.

It's pretty important to avoid playing Razor, btw. If the battlecries go Sentry>Razor>Armor you get nothing and you have no raptors up for next cast.
Assuming your opponent has 1 wock on board and you have played 1 sentry 1 armor
The first wock you play gets at least 2 armor, the next gets at least 8, every one after that gets 14, so 2, 8, 14x8 is 122 armor I think.
As long as your opponent has only played 2 lifedrinkers, the most he can do is 60.

That's not what hardcounter means, just saying.
