$901 OF WHICH WAS THIS YEAR!!!! Idk if I regret it or not but I'm definitely dialing back a bit from here on...Free to play except for expansion releases from here on. I was talking with a friend and i estimated I spent about 1500, I overestimated but $1124 is definitely a lot.

I feel you man. I've been buying 500+ packs per expansion for like 2 years. This time I will limit myself to around 300 total per expansion.
That's still a HUGE amount for most people but for me, that's a good step into curing my golden card addiction.
I realised I had better golden collection than people like reynad & Amaz and even Kripp (because he doesn't craft many golden cards), I then realised I had a BIG problem.
Just in case you guys were wondering, that's a ridiculous amount of money to spend that could have been invested in a ton of better ways, and no this wasn't forum worthy.
Edit: I love how we as a community shit on blizzard for a 80 dollar deal then half of the people complaining go out of their way to support this guy who is obviously lying.
Edit: His collection has changed so I was wrong to call him a liar. I'm sorry.
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Solid amount of money for this year alone... Im probably close to that, maybe a little more spent but that is me counting from playing since beta.. i dont have all the cards but aslong as i have the ones that are playable and the fun ones, i dont really care about a full collection.. spending money on games can be silly but just like any hobby, its not really up to anyone to say right or wrong.. spend as much money on what uou enjoy and if that is hearthstone then spend as much as you are willing to spend of which you can afford. Some people spend money on cars, some on clothes and some on games.. enjoy what you enjoy
guys if my advice is ever worth anything, spending more than the expansion pre-orders is a waste of money..
playing arena and averaging 3-5 wins will more than keep you in the game and can have most new cards in a month, or at least the playable ones..
in the end it is a game, yes its fun and calculating damage with smart trades is a brain workout at times (thats why i play), but then spending that time on your studies or working on your projects is a lot more beneficial in the long run.
Relax, enjoy, play casually, and most importantly, have fun!
1k+ bucks just this year... HOLY FUCK dude that's an insane amount of money I've spent a total of 340 dollars this year (Got the 80 bucks boomsday pre purchease) and I was feeling like I've spent quite some money for there still being 5 months left, I'll probably spend like 500 overall by the end of the year and that still feels like big bucks for me but 1k in just 7 months seems very excesive to me. with those 300 spent on my side I can play pretty much all the meta stuff down to like most tier 3-4 decks, what were you aiming for with all that money?
If he has the money to spend, then why shouldn't he spend it how he wants?
I think I've spent around $300 (including gift cards from birthdays/xmas/father's day/etc), but if you include WoW gold I liquidated into Hearthstone money (via tokens) then it's probably approaching the $1000 mark. Now that I'm down to my last WoW million with an inactive account which takes 1 token to activate and tokens run about 200k per, it's unlikely WoW gold will be a source of Hearthstone cards going forward [https://wowtoken.info/]
Good thing I still preordered, have 33k dust and 10k gold, but dreams of a full collection will likely not come to fruition unless I want to DE way too many beautiful golden cards.
Seriously, $900 this year alone... you got an addiction mate. I'm more than content with a $50 preorder for an expansion and playing with the cards I want, plus getting a pack of the newest expansion every time I hit 100 gold. I've been preordering since Un'goro and spent maybe $300 tops. Spending that much in such a short amount of time is not healthy.
But then again, it may have to do with the fact that I am content with what I get - even I found the $80 USD bundle wasteful for the allure of an alternate hero.
Obviously you should take care of yourself and your loved ones, and if that means cutting back a bit, by all means do.
On the other hand, don't listen to the people who will never in their lives have that sort of disposable income tell you how to spend your leisure money. I bought enough packs to have a full golden set of the classic set back in the day. It was not a "bad" decision because it didn't effect my financial security in any way. Some people buy cars, some people vacation, some people like digital shinies. If you have it, spend it how you like.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.

But did you have fun? Who cares what you spend if you enjoy it. Fick the guys who want to judge you for spending your own money.
and still rank 25
You have some serious dopamine problems, mate...

Thank you for supporting the game and keeping it F2P for others.
