I remember back in WotOG or Un'goro (I can't remember), they did a Tavern Brawl with new decks a few days after the expension launched and it was awesome, since we weren't used to the cards yet.
Why wouldn't they do the final reveals in a Tavern Brawk a week before the release, with random cards in the decks so we don't know (yet) which archetype will be the most broken? I would replay such a Brawl many times, I'm pretty sure. Has anyone from Blizzard ever answered such a question?
Because we'd datamine them and release them before the brawl ;)
Even if they patched the game right as the brawl went live, we'd still have them all datamined and neatly formatted before they were all discovered by players in the brawl.
The game simply doesn't allow for secret cards. In theory though they could write the tech for it but honestly, it's not worth their time. There's other stuff they should be working on instead and let their community team handle the reveals.
