Having a bit of a debacle here... Have about $150 to spend on games in the next few months and I am trying to decide what to do with it. I think I am for sure going to get the Mecha Jaraxxus bundle, and was possibly thinking about getting the other too because of the value involved... I mean 130 packs for $130 and 2 golden legends, that is insane!
But here is the other thing. . . Been eyeing Octopath Traveler for a while now and up until Boomsday was announced I was all on board to get that...
I guess in all honesty my real question is, is 80 packs + whatever I have in gold at xpac release, probably 5k, enough to get most of the decent cards from the new set? Or should I just go ahead and get both bundles?
I'm sorry this is so off topic, I'm not rich, I just wanna spend the money I do have for games the best I can.
Ask yourself how much entertainment you'll get out of Octopath, then ask yourself if spending the same on hearthstone packs will bring the same level of satisfaction.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
you'll probably be fine with the mega bundle if you have gold and dust saved up. It's nice to take a break from HS every once in a while, even with a new expansion, so get yourself Octopath as well.
In the long run I think you will be happier with Mega Bundle and Octopath, instead of the extra packs.
Sure it's super nice with an extra golden legendary, but once the thrill of opening the packs is over and you realize you didn't hit the jackpot (well, probably), you immediately want to buy more packs. It's never gonna be enough.
On the other hand, Octopath looks really exciting. I enjoyed the demo and looking forward to playing it down the road, but not in the position to buy it at the moment, so waiting for a price drop. I think your money are better spent on that if that's your thing, but if you really enjoy HS and not just the pack opening, then go for both bundles. There is no right or wrong.
I suggest you hold off on the second bundle until more cards are revealed and see if you wanna spend an extra fifty bucks on that or if you think you can manage with what gold/dust you already have.
Thanks for the responses guys. You know, sometimes I feel like I am only ever getting packs anymore to just keep up with the game so I do not fall behind. Seems like for each new xpac I play the first 2 months a lot then the last 2 not very much, meta gets stale imo. I really appreciate the responses though, helping me put things into perspective.
I guess it depends on what your collection is already like and if you can buy cards with gold/craft with dust etc.
If you need a lot of cards, then it's definitely worth it.
2 x Golden Legendary means you can dust and craft any 2 legendaries you want, that's pretty huge on it's own I reckon.
See, that is the thing, 2 Golden Legendaries is essentially 2 of whatever Legendaries you want which is insane value. But in regards to gold, I have about 3k currently saved up, did the math with the fire festival coming up, from quests alone I will probably end at around 5k gold total. And as far as dust goes I have 13.5k, only good legend imo I am missing is Deathwing, but there is a reason I haven't crafted him because I mean, he really isn't that great lol.
Just went back and counted how many legendaries are typically good from each expansion. Seems they range for 7-10 in the last 2 years of xpacs. Epics seem to be the most useful in each.

You sir gave a great answer. I definitely see what you mean, the thrill of pack opening seems to blind me sometimes. I have felt that before too, the feeling of buying all these virtual packs with real money then being disappointed when it's all over and just wanting more... Thanks for bringing that up haha, you really don't think about it when you have all these potential packs flashing in your mind nonstop.

If I would you I would watch some octopath gameplay and ask some people on the net to find out if its great for you. And I would say try to focus on getting a new game. Because with a new game you get a new mind I believe. Like I used to play hs everyday but I found a game called Hollow Knight which really made an impact on me. I felt like I had more fun than playing HS. And for a week Im not entering any match. So its up to you.

I bought both.
Ditto.
If you can, get both.

Waiting for the 5000 coins to be cheap in uk, when the discount goes to 20% or more then I will buy the 5000 and I already have got the mega bundle
