Today I lost a game because my opponent had mecha jarraxxus and I didn’t fuck blizzard nerf now grredy assholes why cannot they not see how this is polzarizing mecha jarraxxus meta cancer
To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard just keeps testing what they can get away with, the more people who buy into these sort of things just confirms they can keep selling more and more expensive products and people will just eat them up.
This will be a common occurance in future as long as people keep buying.
It's already happening with Overwatch. Because people bought the $15 Pink Mercy skin, now ActiBlizz is doing more $15 limited time skins.
I'm calling it now: Come time for next expansion, there will be another hero locked behind an $80 preorder.
I certainly hope so. Rewarding the players who make the game possible should be celebrated by everyone who wants to play the game.
People willing to spend money are subsidizing f2p players' experiences. If anyone should be complaining, it's the payers for not getting more perks.
And it's people like you is why Activision-Blizzard gets away with it.
I understand why are you manipulating the crowd by saying Activision-Blizzard, but developer and producer of Hearthstone is Blizzard Entertainment.
Hell, I'd never shy away from the Activision title.
I remember the first patch day in WoW that actually rolled out glitch-free. It happened about 5 months after Activision bought Blizzard. Guaranteed that was not a coincidence.
Hitch only knows how much of the published Blizzard catalog would never have come to be without the buyout.
I never understand the hate and I REALLY don't understand the "lazy" plot line. Blizzard's execution over the past . . . well, 25 years almost . . . has had exactly one black mark (Diablo 3 rollout). I'll take that record over any multi-title studio in existence.

One black mark huh? Hate to break it to you, but Diablo III is not the only black mark.
Warlords of Drendor
Starcraft II being split into three games, that god awful ending to LotV, and the sheer amount of ways they’re milking that game
”You think you do, but you don’t.”
The fact Activision-Blizzard are the ones who have popularized the loot box, as well as other terrible practices with multiplayer only games such as limited time gamemodes, no offline play, always online DRM, no mods, and more.
Activision-Blizzard’s Orwellian moderation
The Overwatch League and the fact they have killed any organic eSports for Overwatch with their strict rules
There’s a reason I call them Activision-Blizzard and not just Blizzard. The Blizzard you knew and fell in love with is dead. They died the moment they merged with Activision many years ago. One by one the OG talent have left, and the philosophy of the company changed for the worse.
And now you’re starting to feel Activision’s influence on Hearthstone. Instead of two expansions and one adventure, we get three expansions every year with two class legendaries each. Instead of free hero portraits we’re now getting preorder exclusive hero portraits because so many people bought the Mega Bundle.

Again, I need to ask!!! At what time were ANY hero portraits free (at the very least some required quite some game time to be played)??? At best, I would say this past expansion, since you got 80 packs for $80 (a nice discounted price for packs) AND, just happened to get a hero portrait!!!

Dude, I played Warlords of Draenor . . . it was the most smooth-running glitch-free expansion ever at the time, topped only by EVERY subsequent expansion.
Starcraft 2 is a great game, and it was the first game to make a serious run at the American scene, paving the way for LoL, Overwatch, etc. This isn't the Blizzard shill talking, this is Jim "Blizzard is the AntiChrist" Sterling talking.
Lootboxes are optional content and I couldnt care less.
Overwatch landed prime time ESPN time slots last month. Probably the most popular esport in America. I take my esports like I take my drugs; I care if they work long before I care about "organic".
And we aren't STARTING to feel Activision's influence. The fact that Hearthstone exists is Activision's influence.
I have no idea the mentality behind your list, but those without an agenda know exactly what I was saying. Blizzard has an incredible record for manufacturing and delivering games. Better than Bethesda, better than Bioware, better than Ubisoft/EA/Rockstar* combined. The only serious contender is Valve, and I suspect Blizz is still on top.
I don't like the fact that Overwatch pros were banned because of language used on stream, but I'm not going to pretend that was an Activision decision and I'm not going to blow it out of proportion in a holistic consideration of a Blizzard timeline. Next to that, a fucking warlock skin means less than nothing.
* I love Rockstar too, but their glitches are legendary.

Just so you know, people having been making "Blizzard is dead" threads long before Activision-Blizzard. I think that should tell you how wrong you are.
You lost because of the hero portrait of your opponent? I did not know that was a thing. Strange how my alternate heroes (& mecha jarraxxus I met) don't have any effect on the game.
No, you are right: You lost a game. Totally unacceptable.
I'm not sure why the OP doesn't just move on and play games that are enjoyable to him. This whole "Activision-Blizzard" is the devil/greedy corporation spiel should be a good indicator to stop playing their games if you truly feel that way. If you so vehemently detest their choices then why waste your time complaining about it on a forum? What a very unproductive way to spend your time, especially since it's not even being protested on the official Hearthstone forum... lol.
I'd be willing to bet my house that you're under 30. In my generation (1980s) there were no FTP games whatsoever. How in the hell do you expect a game company to make money dude? You're generation offends me, fucking mommy daddy gimme millennials. Blizzard is not your goddam mommy or daddy, grow the fuck up. Drops the mic (which I paid for).
There should be more paid content not less. I'd even like actual cards locked behind pay walls. Pay for power. Works for the rest of the world, why not Hearthstone? I make more money than you, therefore I deserve more and should have exclusive access to better cards.

Eh, I also think it balances the flip side for those who have all day and night 24/7 to grind vs those who have jobs and responsibilities. For those of us who can only spend a few hours a week with any game at least it allows you to be relevant while also financially supporting the developer. Time vs. Money is the FTP model.

LOL! I cannot agree more with you!!!
Reminds me of people on the WoW chat (in-game) that spend hours complaining and bitching about WoW... It must how they have fun: when I don't like a game I don't spend money and/or time on it, I move on to something I actually enjoy. I picture the OP writing this while listening to music he hates as loud as possible while siting on the most uncomfortable chair he could find...

On balance, I suspect it would be a poor business decision to lock game-altering content. Most of the most successful games (at least non-mobile games) in the f2p model have elected to keep the microtransactions cosmetic. That being said, of course your sarcasm is ironically literally true.
Payers make the game possible. There is no problem rewarding them.

Give all your money to blizzard and you will be rewarded as deserved.
I dislike hearthstone for the last business decisions. I payed around 100 € total for naxx and gvg and some classics packs and I wasn't unhappy because I enjoyed the game a lot back then. Afterwards I played for "free" and could aquire most of the cards or at least the ones needed to play all the common decks and some fun ones. Blackrock mountain was the last time I really enjoyed the game and after tgt it became harder and harder to get all the needed cards for any t1 deck:
Whisper: most class legendarys were not unplayable or easy replaceable but the neutral ones were nessesary. Just some epics were nessesary
Mean streets: kabal and jade dominated the game, pretty cheap to get those cards. Wild is pretty much standard too.
Journey: introduce quests: nessesary class legendarys that can't be replaced but not needed for all the decks, really strong epics and some legendarys nessesary for most of the decks
Fronzen Throne: introduce death knights: nessesary class legendarys that can't be replaced, really strong epics and some legendarys
Kobolds: introduce legendary class weapons : nessesary for some archetypes, incredible strong epics and legendarys, so strong that wild is the same as standard.
Witchwood: somewhat okay
Boomday: introduce legendarys spells, 7 out of 9 fit into existing decks. So craft all the old ones and the new one to try the deck or the deck sucks a lot. Ah and 8. Legendarys paladin spell is needed for the only decent mech build with all those new mechs.
I don't totally dislike the way legendarys defines decks. It feels good to build a deck around one but requiring a old one for a build is bad but at least you get a new one every time.... but acquiring epics is SOOOOO annoying: you often have to craft the second copy to play a deck and 2 packs later you get the copy you just crafted. The chance for epics is just to low for the amount you need for many decks.
I can't imagine how annoying it is to get a playable deck for new players. I started playing mtga: you start with many old cards, you get decent playable decks with many playable card every 3 days and wildcards to craft cards you want. It's easy to get 1-2 t1 decks in a month and you can decide with one you want to play.
There have been some great and civilized answers from both sides.I personally do not give a flying f*ck about skin or the bundle, they can charge 1000$ for next bundle and i will not give a damm. Everyone can use their money as they wish but god the fanboys are toxic. Calling everything who dares to even question Blizzard's moves from, "poor f*cks" and "stupid kids" to even worse namecalling.
Moreover the loathing and shaming of those who can't afford the bundle is appalling in this thread. Sorry but every insult you throw at people you do not know, tells only about YOU NOT them.
This thread showed once more that fanboys (in general not just in hs) are primitive and unable to respect opposing views. I am unsubscribing and washing my hands of this thread.
