It all comes down to 'what are YOU willing to spend on HS' ??? Me, a lot. As a M:TG player since 1993, I have 1000 and 1000's of M:TG cards, siting, doing nothing. Friends are to far away to play regularly. I'm to old to go to a local game/comic store and play with a bunch of 'kids'. So my "money invested in M:TG", just sits, unused in boxes. HearthStone however is different. Sure there are no physical cards, but I'm more than willing to sacrifice that in order to be able to play ANY TIME I WANT !!! Now, I, like most people, enjoy playing a game like HS, to win. I enjoy building decks that are better than that which I come across. In order to do this, I need the largest pool of cards I can get to choose from. That is why when Blizz offers these bundles, you bet your ass I'm all over buying them!!! For the simple reason of, "I was going to buy that many packs anyway at some point, so why not now at a discounted price." For those people who don't wanna pay for the bundles for whatever reason, obviously HearthStone means/feels/plays something different to them, than what someone who spends to get the bundles feels about HearthStone.
So your problem is what exactly? They're are just giving people extra cosmetics with the packs that have no infuence on the game mechanics. That's what all free 2 play games do, you want to look fancy? Wel then pay-up or shut-up. I see it as a cool addition to the packs, rewarding the players that support the game with some cool gadgets. I really hate how people just want everything for free, look around you that's not how the world works, grow up...
Solution----> Amazon Coins offer, 65€ for Megabundle its better than normal Bundle.
Also this
Yeah well, so i set up Bluestacks, downloaded Amazon Appstore, and from there i downloaded Hearthstone app.
Then used the 65 euros offer. This was 12 hours ago.
As of now, i still dont have the coins, this is, i cant see the coin balance anywhere, and when i go into the Hearthstone app shop, it only show's "purchase with 1-click", it doesnt show to purchase with Amazon coins. The first time buying coins and i gotta admit it's way too clunky and troublesome, i'm already regretting it.
Btw i'm in Spain, and it shows the prices of Appstore and Hearthstone in Dollars, for some unknown reason. I mean wtf... yeah so much for saving with Amazon coins and all that ,but ppl really dont get involved bc it is actually such a bothersome chore. We'll see how i solve this bulls*** problem now...
EDIT: I contacted customer service in Amazon Spain. Apparently there was some problem with the Amazon marketplace, which was set to the US. They solved it, and now i can purchase stuff.
I bought the Mega Bundle and still have 2k amazon coins, which allow me to buy 15 more packs once the expac launches. This means i bought a total of 95 packs+golden legendary+cardback+Mecha J for 65 euros, which is imo an awesome deal :D
Actually you know what? I will no waste my time either on a poor little kid like you... I bought both bundles by the way and im sure i will be quite happy with them (and i'm not even liking the jarax skin...). If you are not happy yourself well stick your head out of your **** or find some old ladies to speak about your problems. Cheers!
So much arrogance in one post.I have met quite a lot of people like you in my life, all of them are now either homeless or dead. No, i am not exaggerating. If you think something as fragile as the economic status can give you the right to judge someone then my sweet summerchild, you have not experienced life at all. As Sun Tzu said: Nothing can be more detrimental in war, than not knowing your own weakness.
Well sure, there is always that guy/girl... Anyway, I was maybe a little bit overcynical in my last post (I may have been hungry when I wrote it). My goal wasn't to offend or hurt anyone (and I am sorry if I did), its just that seeing people complaining about such crap made me a litte angry. So if I am a summerchild, this guy is far worse. People are diyng out there, people are sick, people are starving and you are criyng because you cannot buy your stupid card packs, I mean come on, just grow up already and stop being such a ********. That was all I ment. Peace
I agree it is way too expensive. I considered preorder, but its too much. In Poland you need about 2-3 days to earn 80USD. Getting it throught Amazon coins is also not fair, cause conversion costs makes it less profitable for us in comparision to USA citizens. (not to mention that Amazon coins are not supported in Poland)
After releasing Diablo III, Blizzard deleted trade options, and their decisions headed straight to down of this game.
I believe it can end same way for Hearthstone, if they avoid listening the voice of the community.
Number 1 - You can buy normal potatoes for decent price here.
Number 2 - You can buy slightly better potatoes here, but price for them is 300% higher, also while they see you are foreigner, they force you to pay 400%.

They should keep in mind that economic conditions of each country they make business in. But i suppose they just think that the profit in other countries compensates for the losses they may have in Poland, for example.
Regarding the Amazon coins, i believe it is quite a good deal. I paid 65 euros for a total of 95 packs (Mega bundle+15 more packs) which imo is definitely worth it, and here in Spain some of my friends and plenty of ppl at gatherings have purchased one of the bundles already, or both. Also, looking at the different threads with polls here on Hearthpwn, the majority has already preordered or will preorder soon.
I'd say they are doing quite well with these offers, actually.
They’re gonna milk this game as much as possible until Artifact and Gwent 1.0 comes out aren’t they? It was bad enough that they were charging $50 to preorder loot boxes, but now there’s a second preorder option, the Mega Bundle.
For those who don’t know, the regular preorder bundle is $50, and comes with 50 cardpacks, the Mecha-Jaraxxus cardback, and a free golden legendary card.
Now the Mega Bundle on the other hand is $80! What do you get for 80? You still get the cardback and golden legendary, but instead of 50 cardpacks you get 80, as well as an alternate Warlock hero portrait: Mecha-Jaraxxus.
That’s it. That’s all you get. For $30 more dollars you get a few more glorified loot boxes and a skin. $80 for a hero portrait, and it’s one that the majority of people will want too. This is beyond ridiculous. For two years they have been offering hero portraits for free where we had to do something to get them, like play WoW, or go to a Fireside Gathering, or beat Frozen Throne. They were all great. But now, they’ve locked a skin of a very popular character behind a $80 preorder paywall, that once the expansion launches you can’t get it anymore. They also said there are no plans to rerelease Mecha-Jaraxxus, so anyone who wanted to get that skin are out of luck.
I cannot fathom how ludicrous this is. $80 and all they’re offering is a skin, a skin that is highly popular. I know why they did it too, because they know people love Jaraxxus so they made him an expensive preorder bonus.
I beg you, do not buy this Mega Bundle. Vote with your wallet. Show ActiBlizz this is too far and horribly anti-consumer.
EDIT
So there's been a lot of the same comments in this thread just boggle my mind. There are people actually defending this awful bundle. So I'm gonna address every frequent comment that I've been seeing.
It's a good deal! 80 packs for $80!
First of all, it's asinine to even preorder loot boxes to begin with, but on face value, $80 for 80 packs does sound good when usually the preorders are 50 packs for $50. However, all that became null and void when the Witchwood came out. Witchwood's preorder wasn't the usual 50 packs for $50, it was 70 packs! The moment they did that bundle, a bundle a lot of people loved might I add, it makes the other preorder bundles look like shit in comparison.
Not only that, but $80 for what is ultimately a preorder for loot boxes is absurd. You know what could be done with $80? You could get a shitload of Steam games, games that are not on sale, right now, and still have money left over. You could get two $40 Nintendo Switch games. Ultimately, $80 for 80 packs is pretty crazy. 100 packs or more would've been better, or maybe include some more Golden Legendaries. Speaking of...
But you get a Golden Legendary in the Mega Bundle, which becomes any Legendary you want!
You also get one in the normal $50 preorder as well, making that part of the bundle ultimately irrelevant.
The hero portrait is ugly anyway!
Okay, what does that have to do with it? That's pretty subjective.
You're not entitled to the hero portrait anyway!
Ah yes, the classic "entitled" argument. The ultimate strawman of any shill when they can't think of any else to say.
Who cares? It's just cosmetic
Then why do Casinowatch loot boxes sell like hotcakes? Why did people make a big deal about Nemsy? Guess it's not "just cosmetic" or else people wouldn't give a shit about them. Cosmetics are fun, they let people look differently, and that's why people like them. But besides, that, is for the past two years we were getting this shit for free. When the $10 hero portraits weren't selling, Actiblizz gave them out for free instead as rewards, and people really liked that. Now we have a hero portrait that is locked behind a limited time $80 preorder paywall, so once the preorder is gone that hero portrait cannot be earned anymore. They know people really want Mecha-Jaraxxus since Jaraxxus is one of the most popular Hearthstone characters, and people want Warlock portraits, so they made him a preorder incentive. GET HIM BEFORE HE'S GONE FOREVER!
The argument ultimately is more about the fact the hero portrait is locked to the $80 preorder. I could make the argument all day that it's a waste to preorder loot boxes and how the Mega Bundle is not so Mega, but the fact of the matter is a hero portrait is locked behind a steep preorder paywall. Why is that a big deal? Because we've been getting them for free for the past two years, and if people buy this (Which most likely they will judging from the comments I'm seeing here and on Reddit) then ActiBlizz will start doing more of these "Mega Bundles." Hero portraits will become locked to preorders and we won't get them for free anymore, for these bundles will make so much money, and because people didn't stop and say "no."
EDIT 2
Here we go again...
But you can buy both the Mega Bundle and regular preorder and get TWO Golden Legendaries!
...do you even understand how absurd your comment is? You’re spending $130 to preorder loot boxes twice. What the fuck is wrong with you?
OP stop bitching and get a job! Who can’t afford $80?
Money is not an issue I assure you. It’s not about who has the money to buy the bundle. It’s about a sense of worth. Myself and many others personally don’t find the Mega Bundle worth $80, especially since they’re locking a hero portrait to it when we used to get them for free.
Well I’m gonna buy it anyway
And these were the comments I were looking for. The comments who support the toxicity of preorder culture without giving it a second thought, then bitch when they get terrible legendaries. These are the true Blizzshills, the ones who are loyal to the brand and will defend it tooth and nail. And the funny thing is they’re paying to be shills, trying to make their ludicrous investment worth it. I suggest you watch this video by the late Totalbiscuit on why preordering (even if it offers a slightly better deal) is always a terrible idea.
EDIT 3
Wow. This has been the most divisive thread I have ever made here. There’s a shitload of toxic comments (some by me I’ll admit) but a lot of positive ones as well. Thanks guys for all the replies.
Now a lot of people have been still calling me “entitled” or saying it’s a good deal, or don’t understand what the problem is. So I’m gonna post some tl;dr bullet points at the bottom. But first, I wanna address all those who call me entitled.
First of all, I have never preordered. Never. Not for video games, and definitely not for cardpacks. I have always been against preordering, even if you get more packs. Ultimately face value, you don’t get much from preordering. What do you get? 10 more packs? That may seem like a good deal, but let’s be honest it’s highly unlikely you won’t get anything good in those ten extra packs anyway, because again, you’re preordering loot boxes. Same thing with the Mega Bundle, it’s literally just the regular preorder but more expensive. “But you get a golden legendary!” Like I said, you get one in the regular preorder as well. $80 just for one golden legendary when the $50 bundle gives you the same thing is pretty cheap don’t you think? Like, they couldn’t give you three golden legendaries instead for paying $80?
But besides the fact the Mega Bundle is just an overglorified version of the regular bundle, the main issue ultimately is the fact a new hero portrait is locked to the limited time $80 bundle. Hero portraits for two years have been free rewards, and now suddenly one has gone back to being paid, and it’s a steep paywall no less for they know people want Mecha-Jaraxxus. People say it’s just cosmetic, but the thing is those cosmetics used to be free, and now we got one that isn’t and is most likely not gonna return. (And if it does, it’ll most likely be exclusive for China just like Khadgar.)
Look, I may not be able to change your mind about preordering (because it’s a terrible business practice and always has been.) But at the very least I wanna tell you the Mega Bundle isn’t worth it, mainly because we have a hero locked to it. What if we don’t get free heroes as much anymore as they start charging for heroes again in these big bundles? We got free heroes because we told Blizzard charging $10 for heroes was too much and we didn’t buy them, so now they’re trying to tie them in with expensive preorders instead, making them appear as a bonus when it’s just extortion. That’s why this is a big deal. That’s why we need to say no and not buy the Mega Bundle. We’re the only ones who can make Blizzard stop by voting with our wallets.
tl;dr
A new hero portrait is locked to a limited time $80 preorder when we used to get heroes for free
If people buy this bundle it would give ActiBlizz incentive to do more and tie more heroes to them.
If you sell your car, do you want all the money you can get or do you sell it cheap?
Sorry but I completely disagree with you. Yes, they made a great cosmetic feature and you have to pay to get it.
I am free-to-play, and what matters to me is that the f2p experience does not degrade significantly compared to the paying players. And yes, over the years, the f2p experience has gotten more difficult, but Blizzard offering paying cosmetics is not the cause.
Let me put it this way. This is a way for people who enjoy the game to enjoy it more if they feel like they like the game enough. You are in no way required to purchase it, but you're acting like you are. Honestly, despite you deflecting being entitled, you are being entitled. The Witchwood bundle is a bad comparison, too - 20 packs is on average worth about the same as a Golden Legendary. While the Hero Skin is locked behind $80, you have to realize that that's a token of support, per se. It's like a preorder bonus for a game you expect you'll like. But this time, you get to see everything that's in the game before preordering (because of card reveals).
I don't mean to be a proper dickhead, the problem is you're blindly waving your arms around and not looking at the other side of the argument. I completely understand some of the hatred towards the preorder, which I get - but then rationality kicks in and you realize that this is a fucking game. If you get upset about an exclusive skin in the game, you should sort out your priorities. I don't mean to be toxic, but it's true in my book. I can't say you don't have valid arguments, but you're acting as if there are no valid arguments against you.
They could have done it better, yes. They don't have to, though. In the end, it doesn't matter. Let me repeat that. It doesn't matter. If you want to throw a hissy-fit about the fact you are "such a rebel" for not buying it because it's a bad deal. I can't say it is one - both are on par with the Witchwood prepurchase, and the mega bundle is just an added bonus. I don't agree with the paywalls, but I can still deal with it. There's a difference here - it isn't pay to play or pay to win, it's pay to look cool, when you already can look just fine.
The skin overall isn't a big deal. Sure, it's locked behind $80 - yet that's so there's an actual reason to buy the mega bundle. Had they done 70 packs and 100 packs respectively, would you be upset? Probably. All because of a skin in a game that holds no merit, no value, no nothing. It's simply a token that shows you support the game - or are a collector. You don't seem to understand the fact that, while people want it, they don't need it. It's like complaining that you didn't get the gift you asked for on Christmas.
I honestly hope this thread gets locked, not because it's bad at its core, but because it has no real substance. Just deal with the fact not everyone will get the skin, please. There's always something to complain about - and some people are smart enough to just deal with it. Sometimes it's best to try changing it, but this isn't one of those cases.
I don't understand what to complain about. Yes you get the hero for 80 €, but it's just cosmetic. It doesn't make you a better player or give you advantage over F2P players. I think it's great deal because I usually buy more packs than the pre order offers.
But at the very least I wanna tell you the Mega Bundle isn’t worth it, mainly because we have a hero locked to it. What if we don’t get free heroes as much anymore as they start charging for heroes again in these big bundles?
We all just got Lunara as a free hero portrait so that pretty much goes against any argument that they are not giving away heroes anymore.
As for the bundles, they are and have always been a good deal. Blizzard offers preorders because as a business it's always good to have a sale done up front and as compensation they are offering their product at a discount. With the preorders I'm saving over 20$ on 130 packs that I would have bought anyway. So for anyone who normally spends cash on cards it's a win win. You get cards cheaper and they also throw in some extra perks. And for anyone who doesn't pay for the game then it doesn't matter what the preorder offers since they weren't going to pay for it anyway.
It's a silly post to complain about investing money in a game you play. There are plenty of cosmetic characters I don't own because I have no desire to purchase them. Oh woe is you because you can't have something for free. And who cares if some people decide to financially support a game they enjoy? If you want to be frugal and have all the time in the world to grind then good for you.
There will never be a shortage of shills who will continue to justify and defend this bullshit, which simply enforces and emboldens Blizz to undertake even more outrageous tactics.
Cool Story. Don't play the game if don't like what Blizzard does. Or more simply don't buy it if you don't like it. Or just come to a forum and cry about it.
Totally agree... I've pre-order since WOG (except MSG), but the price is offside... considering even buy x2 Bundles ($130) I can't play or get all the cards, sorry but my money stay with me this time Blizzard (or it will go another game).
A new hero portrait is locked to a limited time $80 preorder when we used to get heroes for free
If people buy this bundle it would give ActiBlizz incentive to do more and tie more heroes to them.
We will still get heroes for free. This hero portrait locked behind a paywall isn't the end all to end all free hero portraits. You know what was more bs? The "free" hero Nemzy. The specific requirements were top of the line bs AND to top it off, for some, even when meeting req conditions, STILL didn't get the hero due to issues on Blizzard's end. Also, other heroes cost money. It's not like we've been getting heroes for free all the time.
I doubt ActiBlizz will continue to do this. Although this seems to be a "testing the water" kind of deal, i'm sure they see the backlash already. I do agree it's BS to 'lock a hero' behind a limited time paywall, but it's not surprising in the least.
