Small indie company, boys =)))) Give them a break, they surely put those "80$ x few million customers buying shitty (most probably) golden legendary and fancy skin" money to a good use. At the very least - these money will probably allow them to finally fix all the nasty bugs. PRAISE RNGESUS! AMEN.
It's very expensive. If you're a new player, it must be so daunting to consider buying something like this AND considering the need to get older cards too.
This is by far the worst money grab in the history of hearthstone and to top it all off people are not only buying this crap but also defending this "shit on your face" offer. Childish comments like "if you dont like it dont buy it" and "its only cosmetic" really indicate the immature mental state of players.
if i dont like it dont buy it. Are you kidding me? This is a digital game which is extremely competitive. If you dont have the right cards you might as well call quits cus you'll never be able to play in ranked mode. So i would very much like to buy it but never like this when giving into offers like this ruins the game for many others and reaffirm this bullshit marketing strategy.
aAd for the people saying that warlock hero is cosmetic, that is true but its beside the point. Instead of offering you more card packs for 80 dollars they are giving you only a cosmetic items which for a large majority here (to my astonishment) is totally fine. So for 30 more dollars you get 30 more packs and NOTHING.
You are the reason, the gaming industry is in shit condition right now. Pre-ordering without even thinking.
You are the one not thinking straight. 80 packs for $80 is cheaper than what they normally go for ($69.99 for 60 packs). So the deal is still worth it even if you don't care about the hero skin at all.
Calling this the "worst money grab in the history of Hearthstone" is just mindless hyberbole given that just two expansions ago pre-orders were going at $50 for 50 packs, and no one complained. Just because Blizzard gave us 70 packs for $50 one time that somehow becomes the bare minimum and anything less is a shameless cash grab? Geez, talk about entitlement.
The biggest issue nowadays is that casual players cannot keep up anymore without paying a shitload of money.
Is this actually an issue? Why should casual player be able to easily keep up with dedicated players? This is a game and not communism. Everyone should not be equal. Dedicated long time players should have some advantage.
I dont see the problem. Other hereos have been behind pay wall before?
And some are yet.
Only Magni, Alleria, and Medivh are behind paywalls, and they’re $10 and not limited time offers. Khadgar was exclusive to iOS users and had a $5 paywall, however that portrait was for charity. The other eight portraits were all free, including Tyrande if you used a Twitch Prime free trial.
the problem of this generation is that they feel too entitled. Your daddy and mommy gave u everything for free and u didnt had to work for anything? Want a lambo or a bmw to be cheap also? Somethings in life arent for everyone. And you dont even need the skin to have fun in the game. See it as an expensive car - looks cool but you dont need it.
Honestly I agree that the pricing is getting out of hand. Just to pre-purchase now and support the devs it's 50*3+80=230 US dollars/year (or 289 for us Canadians) for a children's card game. We have surpassed WOW sub costs, it's insanity and greed AF by Blizzard.
That's said it's a cosmetic, it doesn't effect game play and if your upset about it being behind a paywall you're just greedy as a person and acting entitled, in no way does it change the actually playing experience.
I'm pretty fed up with the pricing model myself, but I have a great job and disposable income so if I chose to purchase the Mega bundle it qill be based on the quality of the expansion overall, not based on the cost of it.
plus. They are giving adventures for free now. Do you even talk about that in your post? Maybe you would prefer adventures to be behind the 80$ bundle so it would "feel" more worth it.
50 for 50 (or 80 for 80... $1 per pack) has been the normal rate for preorder bundles from TGT to KAC. Witchwood was 20 extra packs (2000 dust), Boomsday is a golden legendary (1600 dust), which is pretty close.
Would I prefer if things were cheaper? Sure. Who doesn't wish everything was a bit cheaper.
But let's not pretend that the prices for Boomsday Project are significantly different from the prices of Hearthstone have always been.

Those aren’t adventures. Real Adventures were things like Blackrock and League of Explorers, where we didn’t have to open any cardpacks and got all the cards of the set playing fun boss battles. These are just cheaper single player PvE experiences as an excuse to keep doing three expansions a year.

This is exactly what happens ;-). It´s normal that your best offer will become the reverence for all afterwards.
That was a special deal to entice players back into the game at the start of a new standard season. For those players, it was a good way to add a lot of cards from the "start of season" set, which is expected to have a major impact on play for the next several months. While I completely understand the inclination to compare to whatever the "best ever deal" was, it's not a fair comparison point. (You would be right to point out that Witchwood didn't really have that desired effect of flipping the meta on its head when it was released, but I think that's moot relative to the question of what the appropriate way is to think about "start of season" set bundles broadly.)

Let's go ahead and stop with the "children's card game" meme. It was good about 15 years ago when YGO was huge and before E-Sports were a real thing. That isn't the world we live in anymore.
I agree that the $80 is pushing it up to the line. But, you still have the option of the normally priced bundle.

For a limited time only, click here to see what I think of this post. You really want to hear this! Link not working? You missed out.

Now you get same as before AND +1 Golden Legendary, fits for me. i Bought.
And yes it is expensive, i agree. But i like the game and did support it. Can't blame those who don't want to do. Anyway it is as it is.

Given Blizzard’s track record it’s probably gonna happen lol

I could be wrong, but I have yet to see any wording suggesting that the Mecha-Jaraxxus warlock Hero is exclusive to the bundle.
Off topic observation: Why isn't Omega Defender a mech?

give me another golden legend instead of the skin and i am happy ^^. But things are rarley perfect. Just deal with it ;-).
