Did you miss the part where loot boxes are things you can't earn in regular game play? It's a good deal JUST for the fact that you get 50 packs at 1 dollar each or 80 packs at 1 dollar each.
Those aren't loot boxes, because you don't get an unfair advantage. They don't have to give anything extra, such as a GOLDEN LEGENDARY which can be turned into ANY legendary you want.
Whereas I don't mind there being a $50 and $80 option, what I do take issue with is that Blizzard equates $1 to 1 EUR. Currently the exchange rate stands at 1 EUR = $1.17, a price hike of 17%.

I will never understand how they don't see this. I also never understand how some people can defend this. It's why I just go to the US store webpage and buy everything there.

That's real pain. In my country we have € price while we don't even use €, And it scales horribly to minimum wage. For this I can rent a room for month.
I'm sorry, this could be taken as a bit mean spirited but I mean it in the most literal of terms.
If $80 constitutes a "huge paywall" for you, perhaps you have more pressing concerns in your life than the next alternate hero skin.
Calm down there wannabe badass. There are countries in the world where $80 is half their monthly income. Even in the western world 80$ are a lot of money for a good portion the population. I know that because because i was one of them as student. Now that i earn twice the average income of my country i can easily afford the bundle even if it had 3 times the price. Your attitude however is the attitude of those who have not worked a single day in their lives OR of those who had everything prepared for them by their parents. If you had faced and overcomed any real adversity by your own you would not be so arrogant.
Well, I'm fairly sure that you know that the prices do not scale equally everywhere, there are places where the packs are way cheaper and available to said playerbase and for those unlike you, that does not have disposable income, the game is free and offers a way to go infinite if you are good enough.
Don't be so eager to call people arrogant when yourself is acting like one.
Getting a golden legendary on the 80 pack one is NOT irrelevant - you can get two golden legendaries. The $50 is roughly equivalent in value to witchwood's $50 preorder. Stop whining.
I wonder at what point in time humanity took the wrong turn into "omg i have to pay 80 bucks for a blinking portrait in a free video game" while stuff like Poverty, Hunger and a rise of authoritarian politics happen. That is entitlement, believe it or not.
Also, people who devalue the other sides argument beforehand are the biggest assholes to live. At least try to seem open for a conversation and discussion if you whine and rant.
OP should stop whining and realise that the existence of players willing to pay $80 for a purely cosmetic hero skin is what keeps this game free for other players.
Also, did you forget that hero skins started out being $9.99 each? This is actually much cheaper considering that 80 packs would usually cost more than $80. You are basically getting the hero skin for free for buying in bulk.
The fact that Blizzard gave out other hero skins for free in the past is completely irrelevant. They are entitled to mix it up and offer some for free and some only to paying players. You should be grateful that that they are even offering any hero skins for free at all. Again, hero skins have no effect on gameplay and should be seen as a bonus.

You have a strange definition of loot boxes... A loot box is something that you can buy and/or earn that, when opened, gives you random in-game items that can differ a lot in value. So a Hearthstone pack is very much a loot box.
Whether it's good value is depends on what you compare it to: while $1 per pack is cheaper than the regular price of a pack, compared to what other games cost, spending $130 on an expansion and still not getting all of the cards seems expensive to me. Other Blizzard games like StarCraft 2 used to charge $40 per expansion and that got you all of the content.
This new hero looks awesome and those sounds like "Jaraxxus activated!" are so cool, but, DAMN, 80 dollars is too much for me. I am from Russia and i can drive my car for WHOLE MONTH with these money! Too bad it is a limitted opportunity to get him. Marketing at its best, for sure (Hurry up before alternate warlock portrait gone FOREVER). Give me a break, Blizz!
You are forgetting that you are getting the free Golden legendary, While last expansion you would get 70 packs and a cardback for 50 usd/eur, this time around you will get 50 packs and a golden legendary. Pity timer is around 40 packs, so you effectively gets a legendary at half the pity timer, and it is guaranteed golden. Moreso, you are able to buy both pre-orders, to secure 2 golden legendaries. And that is beside the 1 legendary you will get for free whether you pre-order or not, when the expansion launches. I think pricing is reasonable, when you compare it to previous pre-orders, and especially comparing to normal listing price.
The EUR/USD price difference could definitely be worked on though! If the price should be the same for Europeans and Americans, we should pay around 68 EUR instead of 80. Or Americans should pay around 93 USD.
If the mega-bundle will give any sort of advantage in-game, than the thread starter will be totally right. But it's just cosmetics and collectionism so I don't see any problem with its price or existance. It's nice that they've put both the normal preorder AND the mega-bundle instead of just the 80€'s one, so if someone is not interested in investing more than the "usual" 50€ can still get what it wants.
I don't care about pricing coz I'm not ever gonna buy a single pack for $$$.

Seriously, this complaining is getting old.
and yet, you still can download and play the game without pay

+1
OP - You're a child. Get a second job for a day and pay for the goddam hero portrait that you know you want sooooooo bad. Then, STFU.
You live in the REAL WORLD where stuff that you want costs money. Blizzard is maximizing their profit margins. Get over it man!
You can buy the pre-order in the us store and redeem in your EU-account.
I stopped playing HS a long time ago but I will buy the mega bundle because I want Blizzard to create more cards like Shudderwock or Jade Idol.

The thing i dislike with this mega bundle the most is that i now will face Jaraxxus even more... whats the best counter to warlocks? ;p

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
@OP: Welcome to capitalism. Get rich or die tryin! Over and out.
