In Overwatch they added something like this, and there is still people ranting about your pick and the formation and shit on Quickplay. You just can't stop toxicity. Not with punishments to toxic people, neither with "bribery".
Only that this isnt Overwath, it's a 1vs1 card game...Moreover the system has been PROVEN to work in gwent. What were are discussing (or at least try to do) what the best implemention of it would be in hs. Yeah you can not stop toxicity completely, as i already said so myself in the beginning. But you can supress it.
I like the idea (who doesnt like free gold?) but I do see people blatantly refusing to gg back. They get their 5 gold and now get a chance to dent the opponent who made then salty as much as 10 gold on top.
I like the idea. I think it will reflect itself more on the decks people play than toxicity itself though.
Personally I wouldn't care as much about how much of a cunt my opponent is. But I'd probably reserve my ggs to people whose decks impressed me.

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
On paper seems like a good idea but I feel like it can be exploited and Blizz wants to be careful with gold distribution so that it isn't easily farmable in large quantities.
I have a crap computer, so my game play is slow, however that’s on me. I realize some people think I play slow, but oh well. I definitely don’t spam comments or try to let the timer run short like a lot of a**holes do!
"Well played" is a "gg" unless you are one of those people who gets offended by when you are losing and somebody emotes it. Im tired of people getting offended by every single thing - The future of the humanity is in a weak mental state and it scares me and I fear for my potential future kids.
Idk, I feel like you're going to run into douchebaggerynessism anywhere you go. Thankfully, Hearthstone is pretty limited in communication, so the most you get is a "Well Played" or something. Games like Overwatch or League of Legends have a full chat function, so at least we got that running for us.

Oh this bs again, no offence but this is one of many comments which shut down an a idea without even proper reasoning. People who want to abuse the system, ARE ALREADY DOING IT. That's why bots are created in the first place and if you red my post, i said this gold counts towards the daily limit. This or a similar idea like this will give people another way to farm gold especially in casual. Sure my idea is in the rough and needs huge adjustments and there might be legitimate reasons which might make it impossible in practice but this is not one of them.

Well sorry but humans have and will always lose their shit for stupid reasons. There has been a bloody war for a bucket (google it)...Instead humanity has been getting smarter and stronger both mentally and physically. All these "nEw GeNurAtiONS R WuK" ,"HoMaNs buCuMe SdUpuT" arguments are specious bs which completely ignore the actual data.
Anyway, no one and i mean no one is an absolute beast of reason who is completely unaffected by dick behaviours. I won't lose my night sleep because some troll on the other side of the screen but i won't lie and tell that playing with him is not unpleasant. Especially after a long hard day at work.

Don't say "gg" in any game unless you mean it. Most people don't actually mean it that way when they use it. A game when I just crushed you was not a good game. You either got unlucky or played poorly/had a bad deck, so from a competitive standpoint it was just a free win, not a good game. You talk about the weakness of humanity, but what you're implying is we should be giving out participation trophies to people by "well played"ing them even if they didn't deserve it.
I would wager at least 75% of the uses of "well played" are sarcastic, just like "gg" in other games. It's patronizing.

Dude, please, you have to be kidding... Do you seriously believe people are getting offended by anything? LOL. It is just a trend bro, a circus with many clowns. You have nothing to worry about.
It is more about insecurity and the automatic reaction that if someone doesn't support you, then your ability to survive is imperiled - pack mentality. You play a game, you win or you lose. You win a lot of games, you lose a lot of games, but when someone BMs, it's like this shiny object that is hard to ignore. Letting their insecurity feed yours sets up a co-dependent dynamic that is unfortunately self-sustaining.
Also: The gold idea won't work. The players who already don't BM will comply for more gold, while the griefers will find the entire situation amusing as they ignore it.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
I like this idea, but I prefer to give the gold to the sender of the "gg" instead of the receiver. This way sportsmanship will be rewarded and douchebags won't be able to make it exploitable.
With a little work on some of the details it's a step in the right direction.
I have to constantly auto-squelch everyone to avoid the juvenile players who can't help them selves at endless taunting after every turn. I don't need that.

I mean they got rid of the "sorry" emote, what else do you want? That was the best bm of all time

Theres's an auto-squelch plugin for Hearthstone Deck Tracker, it's really good
Never thought about it this way... and I still miss it (but maybe I tend to apologize too much)
But more seriously, the OP's idea is good but not to the point of giving out more G for congratulating than for winning
Well this would certainly help me hit the daily gold cap at least once. I think it's a good idea and obtaining gold in this game should be easier.
