Hi there beautiful people, there have been a lot of threads about toxic behaviors and lets be honest here, no matter how strong willed and Zen we are, bad behavior effects all of us negatively. Whether that is a simple '' meh what a douche" or a full baby rage tantrum depends on individual's personality but in the end, it makes our day a bit worse.
So how do we deal with this? Well as a person i believe in Machiavellian way when something must be done. Which for those who have not read the Prince is this : If you want to stop someone from doing something, either give him a strong incentive to change his ways, or utterly crush him so he is totally unable to repeat his actions. The second is this case is out of the question because this is a simple game after all. So lets talk about the first.
What i propose is modified version of what gwent does. Give the ability to the players to send a "gg" after the game. When doing so, the receiving player gets 5 gold regardless of who won. If both however receive "gg" then they both get 10 gold instead of 5. This gold counts towards the daily gold limit. This way not only douchebags will lose a ton of gold, but there will be a much more healthy casual mode as the players can experiment and work towards accumulating gold.
I am fully aware that this won't stop toxicity entirely but it will sure improve the situation. Gwent is a living example of this. There are many douchebags there as well but overall it stops a good portion of toxicity. And do not forget in a less generous game like hs, the reward will be more impactful.
Just for myself, I'd be much more interested in a "squelch all players from the start of the game" function in the options menu. It's kind of a bother to have to do it each individual game.
This is similar to an idea I had a long time ago (https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/121594-poll-medals-in-hearthstone-what-do-you-think), but much better. While a part of me doesn't want to help adults that behave like cry babies all the time (adults that can't stand something as silly as a sarcastic "Well played" at the end of a match), I have to admit that not everyone deserve to be mistreated, especially innocent and kind kids (yeah, they exist, because I was one of them when I was very young ;) ) who also play this game, so I definitely support this jainaishot. :)
Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
I think works. I bet the numbers would have to be shifted (I doubt 5-10 gold per game would be accepted when it takes 3 wins to get 10 gold) but that's detail stuff.
Only issue I think would be the rage that would come from if someone did a gg but would receive no gg back. But the suggestion avoids that issue by making the greediest option be double 'gg's. Thus you are sacrificing yourself to punish another.
Yeah, I like this idea. I'm all for getting this sent to blizzard's twitter or Reddit so that they can actually see it.
Very rich players may decide to still BM and even abuse it, because they don't need gold. But i guess it is a niche case.
However, the average player may feel compelled to answer to a BM, just to optimise (double) the income: you have to sacrifice yourself in order to punish douchebaggery, and that is still toxic.
And how exactly are you queing into your friends over and over again in Play Mode? I assume he does not mean friendly play but if you're encountering douchbags there maybe you need better friends.....
Something more like 1 gold per 20 GG's or something sounds more in line with the current system. LoL.
I mean you have to win 30 games just to get one pack. This isn't really something I'm complaining about, just by comparison, a potential 10 G every single game is huge (there would have to be a cap involved.. I think we already have a cap in HS though right for winning gold from games?)
Does gwent really give you 5 or 10 G just for saying "GG"? How does the economy work there, are there many ways to make gold, how much are the cards etc? I'm just trying to weigh it up against what we have at HS really.
You're telling me you'll pass up a free 10g after I BM your sorry ass? Meanwhile, as the 'toxic' player, I will say "GG" at the last moment and get the free 5g for myself

In truth, if I saw someone BMing I would assume they would not GG just to mess with me. Thus I wouldn't GG. So in the end your BM would mean I get 5 gold and you get 0. I have no issues with this.
Note that if I could be sure that the BMer would GG then I would GG back even without the 5 gold bonus. I usually don't look to such systems to punish. I would try to avoid rewarding when I don't get any in return (though I would be slightly annoyed but nothing serious if that happened).
So at first everyone would probably GG, but I bete all it'll take is a few non-GG trollers to get people to "if they GM I don't GG."
i doubt it'll make too much of a difference, but I think it'll be a slightly positive boost to the atmosphere of the game without a heavy downside. It's also been tested in other games (Gwent)without that game blowing up.

What exactly you sacrifice ? You lose nothing. Moreover as iadankar said, the Douchebag will not give you that gg anyway. You will not gain anything extra for a single game. He however will not gain anything until he stops being a d*ck.
people would just optimize their income and then find some other way to be a douche. In any case, not sure that a civil goodbye compensates for a "Well Met!" after every relevant play (or whatever other BS use of emotes is in vogue that week)
You people are going to say whatever silly thing that comes to your mind in order to try to destroy this good idea, don't you? I'm really tired of so much negativity and bad intentions in the forum, really, really tired... :(

Yeah, i was expecting a decent conversation but the thread got many answers like : "Why do you live today if there is a chance that you wil die tomorrow?" Honestly i don't even want to reply. I feel like i will reply to salt bots lol XD
In Overwatch they added something like this, and there is still people ranting about your pick and the formation and shit on Quickplay. You just can't stop toxicity. Not with punishments to toxic people, neither with "bribery".

What do you guys think?

Good Solution for better HS experiences ..
It will make everyone work together to come up with New Decks and combos !
I like your thinking 👍

An idea that comes with free gold?!?! I like it!
This idea would just be abused. You could easily go with a friend and concede games over and over and both "gg" and rack up gold.
Friendly Matches don't award gold.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
At first glance i like it.

Good idea...
Blizz won't implement it in that format though.

An insincere gg has nothing to do with toxicity.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.

If this were implemented, literally everyone would just do the GG thing, then add you afterward to insult your mother.
