I try to hit legend only once and i made it with rogue and i will never try again.its really hard to hit legend for a mobile player who plays hs only with his phone.consuming battery and burning phone
I've hit legend just once and I will never try that again. I don't play that much and despite the fact I hit Rank 5 quite early in the season so I have still time to hit Legend before the end of the month I don't usually rank further, sometimes I hit Rank 4 or 3, but I'm not willing to progress any further. I did it, because I wanted to have the cardback so during the Whispers of the Old Gods meta I played Freeze Mage up to rank 4 and from 4 to Legend I played N'Zoth Priest. Legend rank doesn't show anything but time you invested to rank so I couldn't care less about it.
I've played since beta and I came close once but but then I had to play some cancer aggro deck for fast games. I prefer control decks so I pretty much made my mind that legend won't happen if I want to keep having fun.
Sadly no. Best I did was rank 2, then a landslide of losses. I guess it will always elude me. This season so far, I got to rank 3, then a sea of even warlocks (8 or 10, I can't remember) against my even shaman put me back at the start of the climb. I think I lack the skills at this stage to complete the task. I also think I need to stop playing the same deck and switch (contrary to what some say) but I never do it soon enough.
After reaching Legend, I discovered that you cant afford to play fun or off meta decks because if you fall down past r1000 or so, you will have a nightmare to get back.
I never want to bother wasting time getting to legend again. I stick to getting my rank 5 bonus each month.
Trust me. Legend is so not worth the hassle other than getting the cardback.

For real. You might think legend is when you can finally start having fun, but nope. Fall down past the barrier where you are dumpster 4 lyfe and all you'll see are rank 5s and 4s. Might as well stay down at rank 5 and get the same card reward and play against the same players and save yourself a ton of time and stress.
For a long time I would get close and just get too bored of the decks I was playing to continue.
I only made a point to reach legend once, there was this really dumb Warrior deck I was playing a long long time ago where you pretty much spent every turn clearing the board and I won almost every game with that deck, this was back when bouncing blade was still in standard. I did reach legend and I think played a total of 2 games while legend.
Having said that, I may do it again this month, as I am currently rank 2, but I am completely bored of every deck I've been playing, so who knows.
It really is just a colossal waste of time. I've also uninstalled and gone on long stretches just not playing this game.
Farthest I've been is rank 3, and I was planning on hitting legend that season and I had the time to do it too, (had 2 weeks left) but I decided not to as I was playing it with Aggro Pally before Witchwood landed. The matches weren't fun and in my eyes, getting legend and a cardback wasn't worth my time.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
Reached legend in the last hour of the previous season with spell hunter without having the legendary weapon and the second to my side lol. It was surprisingly easier than I suspected because it took me only 2 days (played maybe 3 hours max) from rank 4 but just as grindy and frustrating as everyone thinks. I'm never going for legend again, sitting at rank 5 for the whole year is much better than this shit.
Nope. Unlike WoW, which rewards you greatly equal to the time you invest (for the most part) HS does not do that. I see no point in blowing so many hours of my life for so meaningless of a payback.
I am rather pleased to see the trends here. The Legendary ranks are cool about their success. And the ones who haven't made it yet are either ok with that fact because it's not their goal or are still finding their way up the ladder.
There are of course the elitists who think that anyone who says the climb is difficult, should just uninstall and wear a sign that says "L 2 play noob". Then the contrary, those entitled few who think Legend rank should be given to them just for showing up.
All in all, it seems that the community is happy with their own gameplay and are not swayed by the pressures of others.
I have the cards, I have the skill ( maybe the RNG ), but don't have the time to grind the games to legend. Maybe when I get some vacation time from work..
I got to rank 4 one month with a meta busting Kel thusad hunter, but had a life and no time to bust to legend. Some day, when I'm divorced or unemployed. Until then, it's the final goal I have left in the game.

I have no time for games.

Gotten to rank 1, 4 stars. Then 2-3 losses and I didn't bother trying more.
Guessing it's easier now with the new rank system, but although I really like hearthstone, I can't play enough to climb sufficiently.
Besides, I prefer fun non-meta decks which is hard to climb with! :D

Reaching legend is fkn boring as hell and there is nothing at legend.

Did it twice so far with Spell Hunter and Big Druid. But most of the time its just too time consuming and i have better things to do.
Always expect the unexpectable!

Cute, ineffective, but cute.
I once reached legend 6 hours into the new month. It’s never been that easy again lol but been there 7 times

Renounce Darkness
Maybe this season I will finally reach it!
EDIT: I came here to change my answer 'cause I finally did it!
Golden heroes: Warlock, Druid, Mage, Hunter
On the forums, 90% have reached top 100 Legend.
In reality, 5% have reached Legend.
I got to rank 4 one month with a meta busting Kel thusad hunter, but had a life and no time to bust to legend. Some day, when I'm divorced or unemployed. Until then, it's the final goal I have left in the game.
