4 years after my 1st, and 1 year after my 8th, I've finally finished my Golden Hero collection by adding Rexxar to the fold! I don't know anyone that plays hearthstone IRL, so pardon me sharing here :P
so my brief hearthstone history, my journey to the 9 golden heroes and the decks that got me there:
I started playing in open beta, played Priest almost exclusively and it was my first golden class back in June 2014 (at that time Mage was my 2nd most played class, with somewhere probably around 150 wins), basically entirely with variants of Control Priest.
I still mostly played Priest for a while, as it was about 9 months before I ended up with 2 more golden heroes in quick succession: Warrior in March 2015 (all Control Warrior) and Druid in April 2015 (all Ramp Druid).
those 3 classes were still the main classes I played and it was another 9 months before Mage finally went gold in January 2016 (the first third was janky homebrews, and the last 2/3 was mostly Echo Mage with a bit of Majordomo Mage thrown in) followed by Warlock in March of 2015 (entirely Dreadlock). a few more months passed before Shaman became my 6th golden hero in August 2016 (the last 1/2 to 2/3 with Ancestral Spirit/ N'Zoth Shaman).
again there was a long gap before another class went golden, this time Paladin in March 2017, the last 2/3 with Anyfin Paladin (roughly 1/3 before WoG, and 1/3 after with a N'Zoth package). In June 2017 Rogue became my 8th golden class, the last 1/3 to 1/2 with Quest Rogue. before that i had played a bunch of janky rogue decks that were fun, but not very good (including some fun with Mogor the Ogre LuL).
Finally tonight I completed the quest with golden Hunter, the last half or so with Spell Hunter, and before that some Yogg and N'Zoth Hunters. 500th win came against a Shudderwock Shaman, which is a horrible matchup (and i saw a bunch of them tonight for some reason xD)
9476 ranked wins in (1856 with priest, 1663 with warrior, 1239 with druid, 942 with mage, 1163 with warlock, 716 with shaman, 538 with paladin, 859 with rogue, and 500 with hunter), and proudly not an aggro deck among them.
Can some math expert crunch the numbers for average playtime per day op has in HS? My numbers turned out around 1h per day considering the average match time is 8 minutes.
I must be wrong. Oh and btw congrats on the feat AND on not playing aggro decks.
Congrats. I can never understand people who do this though. I only play classes and decks that I enjoy. Doing otherwise sounds like masochism :P
that's why there were gaps of 7, 9, 9 and 12 (probably closer to 13) months between golden heroes for me. i only played decks i enjoyed. for paladin, rogue, and hunter in particular, it took some time to find those decks, and in the meantime i played other decks i enjoyed for classes i already had golden (shadow, dragon, raza, big, and spirit/fire priests; fatigue and quest warriors; mill, big, aviana/kun/maly, and taunt druids; quest and a bit of big spell mages; cubelock; shudderwock shaman; and kingsbane rogue, among the decks that i played at least a decent amount of after getting those classes golden and/or the main decks i used to get golden rotated)
Back when I was F2P, I got golden Rexxar as my first gold hero only 5 months after getting the game, with Toast's F2P legend midrange hunter list. Now that I've gone with paying for preorders (and sometimes a little extra), I'm closing in on warlock, druid, and paladin, with warlock playing control before it was cool in KoFT, with druid playing spiteful in Kobolds, and with paladin I am ashamed to say I used to play silver hand paladin before WW.
Congrats on your achievement my friend, I hope to join you sometime in the future.

Gonna join you soon (140 wins left with priest).

Nice going! That must have taken a lot of effort!
Now go outside and do something outdoorsy! ;D
Congrats!

Congrats. Almost 9.5K wins, jeez. I've played since pre-naxx and only gotten merely 3.5k wins.

Meh.get 2000 wins each at least then we'll talk
Congrats. :) Quite an archievement.
Have all golden heroes myself and got golden rogue when oldschool miracle rogue was all you could play.
Gross.
In a good way.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
I got golden rogue only playing my Voltron deck. Felt like a quest before there were quests. So much more fun that miracle or oil.
Too bad it's not viable at all in Wild :(
