I'm curious if this rule works for older sets that you have to buy from the Blizzard store? I enjoy a bit of wild, and might be a nice way to drop some cash for a guaranteed legendary. Even if a cruddy janky one popped out, could be a bit of fun to try and build around.
I'm guessing it does, as shneaky Blizz offers bundles of 2, 7, or 15 packs!
Yeah, it works. I've done it myself and got a Nexus-Champion Saraad and a Blingtron 3000. Amusingly, both of these only became super playable after they rotated into wild (In Razakus priest and shenanigans involving breaking your Aluneth and Twig of the World Tree). Lucky me!

Cheers for letting me know. And congrats on the cracks! That Nexus Champion looks like it could be a bit of janky fun in Odd Pally!
Tried piecing together some decks (Dodgy big priest, ramp druid, deathrattle hunter, and a terrible deck with the few pirates I have) for Ranked wild, but got absolutely obliterated. Kinda sucks how there's a bunch of aggro odd rogues lurking around the bottom of the ladder. It also seemed that every attempt at playing deathrattle hunter, I went up against priests silencing/stealing my stuff! Ouch!
Might do some more experimenting this evening. However, I feel I want a boatload more dust to build some wild decks now! So much for thinking it would give me access to some powerful deck options on the cheap! I might end up with One Night in Karazhan sooner than I intended. Wanted Blackrock for my next adventure, but Y'Shaarj is just screaming out for Barnes!

I remember playing Blingtron for realz in my ctrl priest waaaaaaaaaaaay back in a day of the Oil Rogue, Thoughtsteal gave me Tinker's Sharpsword Oil, Deadly Poison or Blade Flurry on regular basis, so i just said f*** it and decided to make those spells usefull :D

Acidmaw and Troggzor are dead pulls but the other ones are more than reasonable. Y'shaarj is a bit of a pay2win card since you need to stick it in a deck with a bunch of legendaries so I wouldn't rush to get Barnes for him. On the other hand, if you do Karazhan you can try out odd pirate rogue with Patches and Swashburglar. Odd paladin is also a highly competitive choice with the addition of Quartermaster
Wild ladder is probably a lot less forgiving at low ranks than standard ladder. This is because newbies are neither inclined to play it nor have access without paying up

It's a bugger about those dead pulls. Acidmaw is my first hunter legendary. Was my favourite class at first, (I love green in MtG) but I never really cracked anything useful. Oh, two [card]To My Side[card]s, but nothing to support them! I actually thought Troggzor might have been alright. This shows how bad I am at Hearthstone deck building! Haha!
Odd pirates after Karazhan sounds good. With what you've said about Barnes and Y'shaarj, I might not rush for the adventure. There's only two adventures left now, and I've spent a little more than I should have on Hearthstone recently!
I don't want to play wild odd paladin just yet, as odd paladin is my only decent standard deck (and I'm getting sick of playing it!). That said, it did get me to rank 12 this month, so that's nice. I also cracked a single Quartermaster in my pulls, and thought how awesome he'd be right up!
After my last post, I tweaked my Highland Warrior deck. Won a game, lost a game. I feel I just can't get the right balance with it. First game I won playing aggressive and finishing with Leeroy. That was against a Warlock that wasn't watching his health as well as he should have (rank 20, that's probably normal). Second game my opponent played control mage up to DK Jaina. Ended up conceding after another board wipe. Still had steam, but couldn't see myself coming back with what I had left.
I then went back to my Murloc Deck, which, despite looking pretty average, wins a lot. Not sure if a lot of wild decks are just a bit greedy, or if folks are saving their removal for rare/epic murlocs that I don't have, but an early Primalfin Totem into Everyfin is Awesome is an easy win. I think the quickest I've won is turn 4. Might not be so well at higher ranks, but I love this deck! If only the decks I put lots of thought into could be as good!

I’ve always wondered if troggzor is better now in the current meta. Wild is a lot of greedy spell based decks. I really feel a deck could make him work, some sort of aggro-tempo deck. When he was revealed everyone thought he was OP, but the aggro meta of the time wasn’t right for him. Things I would try out if I had any free time
To be fair, every hearthstone pro and their mom was convinced Troggzor was the most OP card in GvG when it was first revealed. Great minds think (wrongly) alike maybe?
As a new player with a limited collection, you're not entitled to get "sick of playing" the same deck yet. This comes after you take out a loan on your house to buy more packs :P In all seriousness though, I guarantee simple standard odd paladin with quartermaster should be good enough to take you to legend unlike any f2p decks you can come up with if you're so inclined. Just throwing it out there if you're that kind of player, there's plenty of less ambitious people who play "for fun" too. Do what you find entertaining. I guess if you have an MTG background, you should know what kind of player you are already
Your warrior deck is a bit of a mess. Instead of throwing together cards that look good, try to make a cohesive plan for your deck before building and stick to it. For example, Leeroy, lifedrinker, and piloted shredder are good cards in an aggro or tempo deck but you have a lot of AOE, utility tools and value generators that suggest a control archetype. Also deadly arsenal is both a bad card and bad synergy in your deck with molten blade and woodcutter's axe. I recommend you replace the above with either more draw so that you can more consistently draw into your existing value cards or more value cards themselves if you have them. Control decks are harder to build as deckbuilding errors and budget replacements will hurt the deck a lot more than fast, board centric archetypes. Control warriors even more so because their tools are often combo-oriented and low value. Don't expect much success building control warriors but you are of course free to try
The shaman is looking decent for a f2p deck. The primalfin lookouts are a clever way to generate the missing Murloc Warleaders. Make sure to stick in Coldlight Seers if you find them, as they are common rarity. Don't forget to replace those lightning storm and forked lightning with Maelstrom Portal after you finish Karazhan

That's doubtful, I'm at rank 4 right now and according to my decktracker 53% of wild opponents I faced over the last 3 days are even shamans with the next most popular deck being odd paladin. It's true that decks that struggle against Troggzor will probably struggle hard but they're not common enough for it to be worth it. Loatheb is better anyway

Did this yesterday. Ended up with: Patches the Pirate, an obligatory C'Thun (really wish I played when this was standard), Y'Shaarj. Rage Unbound, Acidmaw, and Troggzor the Earthinator. Also played through Naxxramas Adventure.
