I personally don't mind losing to anything besides super polarized matchups (shudderwock or kingsbane vs control) but more because you know the outcome before you even play it out
Same. The feeling you have barely any chance to win and then you have to go through 10 minutes of that feeling... It's just depressing and makes you wanna stop playing for a day.
Fun to lose against? Creative decks BUT not bad decks. I mean. I don't mind losing to some memes, it usually gives me good laugh, but I hate losing against badly constructed homebrews that just got lucky. What I mean here is stuff like mind control tech in hyper aggro decks, cheap spells in big spell mage, unnecessary battlecries in shadderwock decks... And so on and so on...
losing due to "bad luck" (e.g. you have a full board and Rag hero power hits you in the face for final 8... makes it even worse if you would certainly win were it not to that one single unlikely RNG event)
losing so fast there was nothing I could do about it (~T5 to aggro while anti-aggro tools were hiding from mulligan)
losing so slow it gets annoying (looking at you Shudderwock ... I don't mind long games, but I do mind watching 10 minutes of animations, even if I can shorten it to 5 by clicking like an idiot - and then I'm STILL not dead?! That's the worst part, when e.g. Exodia Mage sets up you can resign, you know you're dead - when Shudderwock sets up, you can still win, it's just that every turn becomes this annoying mess)
losing to Sunkeeper Tarim (coupled with the new board flood tools, the card's effect just annoys me... it's like every single turn you have an axe hanging above your neck, and the first turn you can't clear - you die. It's way too easy to set it up nowadays.)
losing to T3-4 Barnes, that kind of game is just stupid
Like (or, don't mind at all):
losing to original decks where I didn't see their win condition coming (or recently facing things like Azalina Soulthief, which turned some games from "I got this" to "oh shit, now we're playing chess with my cards")
losing if the game was a gripping back-and-forth until one player cracked (even if vs a netdeck, even if the game was short)
losing due to being outsmarted/outplayed/bluffed (I love those games where it becomes a mind game and you realize that both players are trying to "fish out" answers from each other)
going near/into fatigue, where weird things start happening - no matter who loses, that stage of the game tends to add another layer of interest and changes the way decisions are made
Perhaps I should have phrased my title a bit different. I understand that meme decks are fun for most people but there will always be meta decks and you will face them in the vast majority of the games you play (sadly also in casual). So, while most of you respect losing to a meme deck is it not possible to accept a certain type of meta deck?
And isn't that a bit problematic that it is mostly fun to lose to meme decks? On average the strongest decks wins about 55 % of their games but that means you’ll have to accept 45 defeats when playing 100 games – roughly speaking of course.
If a deck takes skill to play i don't mind losing a game, if interesting situations come up on the board it can be fun even to lose. For instance i lost a game in a priest mirror where he benedictus me and i topdecked benedictus twice, had a 50 something card deck.
When I lose to a ridiculously bad match-up multiple times in a row, like idk you playing some control deck and for whatever reason everyone on the ladder randomly decides to start playing king's bane rogue or something like that and cause I mean who likes playing a game that you know you can't win from the start multiple times in a row?
When I've been playing better than my opponent and he just get extremely lucky and ends up winning even though I was the best player that game... I know HS is random, it's a card game (which is already a random type of game) that has RNG as one of it's main mechanics, and no, I don't mean getting a random spell from a glyph or tarim of a turtle, that's just the standard with the RNG HS has, no big deal , I mean those games where your opponent gets either a bunch of random cards that are absolutely perfect for the game or just somehow chains the best random cards possible to the point where that was one of the super rare scenarios where he could beat you and there was no way to play around random cards and he happened to get the exact ones he needed. Also for this scenario could apply when your opponent gets a bunch of insane top decks or their deck does something absolutely ridiculous but it's out of pure luck, like their deck has a chance of doing that said thing of idk 12% and they get that random aspect turn after turn or when you lose in like 3 or 4 turns after your opponent has no board and is left top decking every turn just cause of the fact your hand is not that great and they proceed to draw the 4 best cards on their deck or the 4 only cards that saved them and are perfect for this specific scenario.
Losing is never fun. Neurological our brains only pour out happiness hormones while winning . People who claim to have fun losing, do not have fun because they lose but rather enjoyed the game because of certain reasons (no netdeck/gripping plays/ etc).
I dont like losing, I will however find it amusing if I lose by some weird way. I remember losing to barnes + Yshaari on turn 4 into renounce darkness into windfury a while ago. That was just some insane highrole I could do nothing else but laugh at that kind of misfortune.

Hmm, you're mixing up while and because here a bit. I mean, you said it yourself too, people can and do have fun while losing, therefore losing can be fun. (unless you mean "loss" as in the final moment in time of a game, and not the process of playing, and ultimately losing, the game) Yes, it's not fun because of the loss, it's despite the loss. This happens whenever the process of playing is fun enough that the outcome becomes insignificant.
But yeah, losing can definitely be its own kind of fun; e.g. I love to lose in other games (Starcraft, Go) to much stronger players, it's amazing so see the kind of stuff they pull off... so for me it's more about getting to witness amazing skills firsthand, find gaps in my play and learn in the process... I know people who love this kind of learning and who can play 100 times in a row, lose 100 times in a row, and gladly queue up for another game while being hyper and amazed. It's the learning and amazement that gets your brain high (admittedly, this may not be so applicable to HS, as there is only so much you can do with a deck). On the other hand, I know many other who were mostly motivated by the "win high" and thus gave up on games when surrounded by stronger players.
Different people get kicks out of different things, don't think that because you don't understand the others they don't exist ;)

I think he just went too deep with that. It's obvious it's more fun to win but the thread is all about having fun even when losing.
The current meta is not bad at all to lose against for the most part. The faster decks are not super oppressive but rather decently vulnerable. Unless they have a complete nut draw which you usually can't do anything about most of the faster decks still let you get some play out of the game. Even midrange decks like recruit hunter or even warlock lets you play the game which gives you a fighting chance which makes a loss tolerable.
The only somewhat bad deck to lose against that I can think of right now is Shudderwock shaman. It's a race to get them killed before they get their inevitable combo off which doesn't feel nice but its' not nearly as bad as exodia mage once was for example.
My only gripe at the moment is that most decks have one or two match ups that are hard counters to them and if you happen to queue into a deck that you have 15-20% of beating too many times in a short while then it becomes too much at times. Though the nerfs last month even this out a bit as well so it's not as bad as before the nerf.
I just hate losing to exodia mage and otk priest. When I'm playing control it feels so helpless and you're just waiting to lose. Those games are not fun at all. In the previous metagames I hated aggro paladin too, but just because it gets predictable very fast.
So predictable matchups and when you feel like your decisions don't have a lot of impact on the game because of the matchup are not fun, everything else I'm fine with.
I've played TCGs, CCGs, etc. for most of my life. I've always enjoying playing against something off-meta in any game because it's more interesting and makes you think more, win or lose. The only time I really get annoyed is when I lose to the same deck several times in a row. Even when Cubelock was really rampant I didn't mind losing to it, and it was really satisfying to actually beat it once in a while. It was only if I ran into 5 or 6 Cubelocks out of 7 or 8 games.
I haven't run into any decks since the nerf that I've truly hated playing against. Lots of fun stuff going around right now and I feel like with the losses that I experience I'm also learning and getting better.
One thing I do hate is when the other player is clearly not paying attention or takes the full time to play almost every turn. It's a simple game people, you don't need that much time to kill me/be killed. Even if I win it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when someone pulls that kind of thing.
Any game that goes past turn 10 that isn't a combo deck. Long, value-driven control mirrors are the best match-ups in hearthstone. Specifically ones that include unusual tech cards or win conditions.
My main deck right now is a Big Spell Baku Mage, which includes such techs as BGH and Tinkmaster, and also includes Ysera and Elise as the late-game value generators/win conditions.
Losing to odd paladin in casual is super fun
Against control players. Losing against smart people makes me feel good, :)

Deathwing
Meatwagon warlock. Meatwagon warlock is hilarious to lose against. And blackholw gunspire. If I die, I'd like to die to a meme.
I only rage when I lose in 2 scenarios:

+1
Maly Druid or Rogue are cool decks/attempts and i don't feel bad at all.
This deck in wild tho, can't hate this deck when you loose against it :P

I love to be devasteted from unexpected win conditions.
I hate when I lose from predictable and incontestable lethal.
I will never ever ever have a problem losing to Randuin Wrynn deck.
Or anything that features Millhouse Manastorm
