I've been wondering if you usually play agains the same opponents. I have been keeping track of matches since January, and since then I've played about 400 times and only played agains the same person twice (and one of those times were successive games).
Has anyone played more than two times against someone?
The most games i played vs the same person was in a brawl and it was like 5 or 6 games in a row. It is more likely to happen at off hours for obvious reasons. I also played multiple times vs the same person at high wins in arena, again for obvious reasons. It doesnt happen that often, but it happens often enough that i dont find it surprising anymore :)
I've played the same person 4 times in a row in wild casual.
I also frequently run into the same person twice in a row if I queue up between 1-5ish seconds after the last game. This is usually during peak NA times mind you, in casual.
I go back to back with people in 5-10 Wild from time to time. I really enjoy running it back when both players know each other's archetypes and can mulligan for it.
I played against the same opponent in ranked four times in a row, but that was a couple years ago. I can't remember playing anyone more than twice in a row in the last year or so, and even that is getting pretty rare.
however last night was a first. Rank 5 standard ladder I was inadvertently matched against my son (also rank 5). He lives elsewhere and we had a laugh. He beat me....
I occasionally play the same opponent twice. Only once have I faced the same opponent three times in a row, I added him afterwards or maybe we would have faced each other again
I honestly don't even look at the players name 95% of the time. I only care about what class I'm playing against to decide on what to mulligan for. Although a few weeks ago a guy I played against friended me and he said how we just played two games straight against each other. I didn't even realize it, cause again I only looked at the class.

Neither do I, but the tracker has a list of who you played against.. that's the only easy way of knowing
I know in my climb to legend in March, I beat the same guy 3 times in a row (I think from rank 2 5 stars to rank 1 3 stars). The guy was probably at least a little bit sad because I'm sure he was also trying to climb to legend at that month end haha.

If you've played high wild ladder at odd times in your server, queueing into the same people is almost a sure thing. My longest streak is 5. I used to have 2 archtypes of the same classes ready just for the counter queue. Lost to controlock with your midrange paladin? Time to queue the exodia paladin and wait for the inevitable "Extraordinary" when your opponent finally figures out you don't run doomsayer + haunted creeper in the same deck and that they mulliganed wrong
There are times where I get the same dude 4-5 times in a row when I'm testing a new deck on casual and it gets frustating, on ranked I don't think it ever happened to me, at least not back 2 back, maybe I've played against the same person more than 1 time but I don't really keep track of it.

I've been re-paired most often in casual, usually late at night, though never 3+ times in a row.
Check out my gaming blog: Downy Owlbear Designs and download free P&P games.
Or argue with me about games on Qallout, the video debate site.
Wild casual, twice in a row is quite regular, and more is not that rare.
I keep findig myself playing against a guy called “Your Opponent” like ALL the time! I think matchmaking is definitely rigged...

haha good one!

Being in Australia it happens to me now and again

I played a dude 11 games in a row once at rank 1
I noticed this pattern. I quickly switch to a hard counter deck in case I queue into the same opponent again. :-)
Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.
Initially, I thought it's cool to fight against the same person for many times.
But this happens too many times, it's really annoying now.
I keep getting "your opponent" constantly.
The guy has to be playing Whizbang because he never has the same deck.
I'm currently almost into platinum and I hope once I get there I never see him again.
