Sludge Belcher, still the most effective taunt in the game imo. Taunt in a taunt.
I never believed Sylvanas Windrunner and Ragnaros the Firelord needed rotating. Sure, at one stage some years ago they were used in 80% of decks, but at the time of them rotating they hadn't been staple cards for a long time. Even in Wild today, they don't see that much play. And they never caused any card development issues.
The hidden quests didn't need removing, nor should the rewards Old Murk-Eye and Captain's Parrot be moved out of Standard.
most of these suggestions are very bad - reno?? thaurissan???? loatheb?!?!?! these are cards that are not only well above the power curve, but are also colossal design space hogs. similar recent cards like fire plume harbinger or rebuke are much more appropriately balanced riffs on these kinds of mechanics. should loatheb really exist in the same pool of cards as shudderwock?? renounce is fine for power level/design space, but definitely too memey for classic.
some cards that i think are classic-appropriate, both for power level and design space, are things like: ravaging ghoul, cloaked huntress, snowchugger, raven familiar, fire fly, faceless shambler, swashburglar, nightmare amalgam, gnomeferatu. sleepy dragon, etc.
re: dirty rat, i think the lack of a combo counter tech card in witchwood was a huge oversight (along with printing zero understatted 10 drops). as it stands, combo and anti control decks have about a 90% chance against their prey, while anti-aggro control decks have only about a 60% chance against aggro. given the strength of these anti-control deck's wincons, there are no real lines of counterplay for control, particularly with oracle having rotated. so yeah, dirty rat or something similar should be classic.
Blizzard never stop to push the mechanic with awful terrible garbage cards, a least make this classic and we can have some support to try (and fail most of the time).
People saying Loatheb have probably not experienced him with Shudderwock. In wild that combo is super busted. If I realize I am playing against Shudderwock, and Loatheb gets played I am probably just going to auto concede.
I want to start a discussion about cards you, guys and gals, think should be added to the classic set permanently, especially to replace cards that entered the hall of fame.
My contender is Renounce Darkness, since it's mostly a meme card and not really competitevly, but it can be a whole load of fun. Another reason is that Warlock has already lost Power Overwhelming, and while this isn't exactely a replacement, i feel all classes should have the same number of cards when it comes to a certain set.
I did a little poll thing that no one saw on this, for replacing the lost Power Overwhelming - personally, I would just like them to restore PO, but outside of that I think the replacement card should be a common card as well. My favorite options were Darkshire Councilman and especially Floating Watcher.
I wouldn't mind seeing Djinni of Zephyrs around, as well - that was an amusing card to fart around with.
I wouldn't mind Mistress of Mixtures being moved to classic, it's always been one of my favorite one drops and it enables a chance to play control in any class.
I also agree with Dirty Rat and Gang Up, seeing as the rat is a great tech card, and gang up could help in fatigue rogue, especially since Coldlight Oracle is gone.
Reno, Baku, and Genn should just all be moved to classic imo. They all create rather unique archtypes for every single class and they all would create fall backs for players to use in case class ideas ever suck bad for a lot of classes in any given expansion.
Dark Bomb: Should be rotated back in to stand for early removal against aggro for warlocks to use (though I'd wait til Defile rotated out).
Frost Lich Jaina: This is another card I honestly feel should stay. Why? Burn and/or Tempo Mage is pretty much all the class relies on and is restricted to from the classic set when new mage ideas are weak or too memey. Jaina would provide a control option for the class that isn't some Freeze Mage variant. If you want to face more than one type of mage deck this would be the way to go.
Mayor Noggenfogger: Because why the heck not!?
Eater of Secrets: Should be a no brainer. I see no reason not to do this for the sheer fact that we keep losing a card slot in one of the first expansions of the new HS year because T5 doesn't just move this card as the permanent tech in classic.
Poison Seeds: I'm hesitant about this because it can be too punishing against control. However, until druid actually gets a decent board clear against control match-ups I think it would be necessary.
Vilespine Slayer: If you want to avoid rogue just falling back into a stall and combo focused class that only has Sap and Vanish available as removal then I feel it would be wise to move this to classic.
Crushing Walls: A pretty bad card so far tbh, so that wouldn't really hurt sending this to classic, but who knows maybe if we wish hard enough for a control hunter in standard this might one day see play... maybe :P
Spikeridged Steed: This is going to be another unpopular choice I'm sure, but the most of the classic paladin set is bad. There is a reason why paladin just keeps falling into the aggro train (well aside from the obvious fact that very strong paladin aggro cards keep getting printed), and that is because there are simply not enough midrange and control cards that are more appealing to the aggro cards they keep getting.
Dirty Rat: As much as I love combo decks I do think there needs to be more potential to disrupt them a little.
Nobody wants the Yogg nerf to be reverted. Even in Wild, 500 hour turns are bad.
I play a combo deck that keeps repeating its animations for 3+ minutes straight after the opponent has died (No, I'm not talking about Shudderwok). I don't think I'd mind ;)
And that is my list of cards I would love to see in the Classic set. Hopefully this list is ok and may start a discussion. I don't know this is my first post so I hope it's ok.

It's almost like you can just play wild, right? Or are you afraid of Dr. Boom?

Definitely The Lich King. A forever useful card, and it's a classic WoW character to boot.
The DK Hero cards should be moved to classic as well. It'll be a sad day once these cards rotate out.

None tbh. Game should always push forward.
btw Loatheb is a broken card, can be played in 90% of decks and Reno mechanic is boring asf
(im learning english so sorry for any mistake)
I've created a list of cards I would like to see added to the classic set
Evolve: Creates an entire archetype
Firelands Portal: A beloved card that was fun and was just what mage need, board control and removal
Maelstrom Portal: Much need removal that doesn't tax mana
Enchanted Raven: Simple and efficient
Cat Trick: Punishes spell slinger decks
Potion of Polymorph: Replacement for Ice Block
Volcanic Potion: Cheap mass removal that has a fair cost
Devolve: A sort of removal card
Alleycat: A card designed to help Hunter against Mage and Rogue
Grimestreet Outfitter: Helps hand Paladin
Potion of Madness: Punishes small go wide decks
Mistress of Mixtures: Helps decks get to the long game
Dirty Rat: Counter to battlecry effects
Weasel Tunneler: Simple inclusion, weasel in a hat
Fire Fly: It's a simple easy to understand card that has many uses in multiple decks and even enables some strategies
Glacial Shard: It allows aggro decks to protect themselves from incoming threats and can be used to protect minions from being attacked
Tar Creeper: It helps prevent aggro decks from taking over the game
Stonehill Defender: Helps out decks that are trying to make it into the long game.
Saronite Chain Gang: Also prevents aggro decks from taking over, while also giving aggro decks a shield
Arcanologist: Helps out secret decks
Crackling Razormaw: Great hunter card that gives you choices to make
Grievous Bite: Simple removal
Direhorn Hatchling: A taunt minion that is good in the early game and late game
Volcano: Risky removal
Zola the Gorgon: Zola would replace one of the many neutral minion that were Hall of Famed
Plated Beetle: Should just replace River Crocolisk
Dire Mole: Good early game threat that can survive a couple of turns
Kobold Librarian: Can help out zoolock
Explosive Runes: Replacement for Ice Block
Wandering Monster: Just a good hunter secret
Duskbat: Can help out zoolock
And that is my list of cards I would love to see in the Classic set. Hopefully this list is ok and may start a discussion. I don't know this is my first post so I hope it's ok.
