ONe thing is not to concede. I often win games in the long run that I seem to have "lost". especially with decks like control priest, cubelock, even warlock, and cube hunter.
there are some annoying deck but...what are you talking about? i climb this season with entirely with spell hunter, with 65% winrate.
Pretty fun deck, but not the best. Maybe you're tilting and not playing at best.
Take a break,then choose a deck you like,play it,and play it well.
I'm playing Spell hunter and Taunt druid.
Well, u have some card of this list below, give a try. I reached legend easy with this list v Maybe cause many players are not aware of this archetype or the cards in the list.
Nah, the Witchwood meta is not for me definitely. I've started this season at rank5 and three weeks later I'm still on rank5 no matter what deck I'm using. I think I'll focus on tournaments instead of playing this random generator crap.
Play a deck you like, are familiar with, and are good at (it doesn't have to be the number 1 highest win rate tier one deck). Play games and get an overall win rate above 50%. Keep playing games and spend many hours maintaining a win rate that is over 50%. ???? Profit.
this is the best advice I could have given. I remember back in November I made a Dragon Warrior deck and spent about 28 hours playing the deck in ranked. Got up to rank 17 from Rank 25 with the deck which was impressive to me. All you need to do is keep trying.
Its a bit grindy but using a deck you can play well and you like to play (otherwise it will suck after over 100 matches regardless of winrate).
and of course you should look at the meta. I needed two weeks to accept (i alredy kew it ...) that my taunt warrior is best and toying around with shudder or a version of big hunter is fun but gets me stuck at 50% ...
I would advise you to play 1 deck you really like and play well and stick to it. Thats like i hit legend multiple times. And it can even be a tier 3 deck. That doesn't matter at all.
Skill in HS? i mean, comon. It has never been skill involved. Sure you need to get past that when you know what deck he is playing and what his intention is. But when u know that, its just rock paper scissors.
Everyone has the same win rate with the same decks, +- a few percent wich comes down to what deck blizzard puts you up against.
Good example, i played a control deck yesterday. Then i watched a guy draw all his cards and kill me. Nothing i could have done, great interaction decks.
1: The meta is not bad, its just alot of the same decks:
I would say this is no where near as bad as the last meta with just Demonlock and quest rogue dominating the meta. For one there is some interesting decks that i find fun to play that have a good win rate such as Spell hunter. However, alot of people play even warlock and shaman which feels oppressive, so sadly the standard ladder is kind of full of those kind of deck atm. That probs explains why it feels a bit like rock paper scissors meta as around 4-5 decks are most played atm who just do better/worse against certain decks.
2: I think the new ladder system is partly to blame:
Even though the end of the season is more rewarding with the new ladder system, it feels soo much like a grind now to get to new ranks. Thats why you probs feels soo bored climbing as when you loose one you have to grind more.
I think the best meta exists when it consists of equal amount of decks, classes and archetypes. IMO, Rogue is the worst right now. Odd Rogue is everywhere. Tess and Miracle are less seen in my meta. Paladin these days? 99% is Odd Pally, pure brainless deck. Warlock? The figure for Even outnumbers other decks. Warrior and Priest are balanced as I have faced imaginative decks from these classes: Keleseth Warrior, Rush Warrior, Quest Warrior, Even Warrior, OTK Priest, Quest Priest, Dragon Priest,... Druid is the most balanced class with the variety of Token, Quest( Twig and no Twig), Taunt,...
I have to say, due to all the control-type decks in my meta (EU Rank 5 to 10) I am shining with the basic Odd Hunter. If you know it's Rock Paper Scissors, just choose the one that is least played. I despise the deck, but it feels just so good to chop off the same deck archetypes by T5/6.

It was a skilled game back in the day also quite motivating for deckbuilder's like me.
There are a lot of decks that are viable in every class.
But most matchups are either decided by the nuts draw that can't be stopped, or, they are decided purely on what your deck is relative to theirs.
I climbed from 10-5 in 3 days with Taunt Druid, but then have been stuck at 5 for 10 days now. Taunt Druid is autolose vs big spell mage carrying Polymorph and Geist. Taunt Druid is autolose vs pretty much any OTK control deck like Shudderwolk, Priest with Malygos and the 7/7 spell damage guy whose name I'm forgetting right now. It's auto lose vs taunt quest warrior because of the minions they give you and brawl.
If you play aggro decks they are auto lose to taunt druid.
I almost always beat recruit hunter with Taunt druid but I played a guy yesterday who had 5 monsters on the board by his turn 8, my turn 7.
The meta is diverse but I don't find it fun. I can tell if I am going to lose 80% of the time just from the first few cards my opponent plays.
Yesterday I took 3rd rank with Spell hunter, now I'm 0-5and back to rank4 with same deck. Each time my opponent wins with 1-2 hp left. Meta so fun, everything depends of luck.

Best time to hit legend is the first week after the launch of any expansion , Other than that it will take you much time with supernatural effort.

tournament player cant get past rank 5? omegalul

Yes and what? Tournaments require deck pick skills and ranked requires luck only.
looking at the tournament line up from HCT so far it looks like a lot of ladder decks to me
"semi-pro"
..aren't we all?
If you play tournaments on regular basis you are.
