This is an analogy rather, not a metaphor - i can not edit the title, but here goes anyways.
What would you call someone who runs away from someone after they hit them as hard as they could, hoping to knock them out only to see their intended victim turn around and begin to defend themselves?
Is that a coward?
I would think if they had some sort of fighting skills, maybe a little mma jujitsu under their belt, they could still hang. Considering they ran, they likely have no fighting skills.
So I would venture to say that person is also unskilled.
This is kind of similar to when you face an aggro player in hearthstone isnt it? They build a deck and barf it all on the board as quick as possible and aim for the face, and if they get cleared, or you mount a defense, its a quick concede and they are off to hopefully catch a new victim with a bad mulligan.
Can we all just agree to not call it control, midrange and aggro anymore?
Can it just be control, midrange and unskilled cowards? Aggro is UC for short. Once we can all agree on that, then maybe we can just say UC is a metaphor for aggro.
Personally I play all types of decks, not just one specific type. That means combo, control, midrange, and AGGRO. Depends on what I feel like playing and what I'm having fun with at the time. Sometimes, that is an Aggro deck. And sometimes I play decks meant to hard counter Aggro decks. So yes, I enjoy both playing and playing against Aggro depending on my mood that day and what I feel like playing.
Go to the salt thread my boy, putting a "deep" facade on it doesn't make your post any less of an angry rant.
inb4 lol ur an aggro player
Nah, I just play all sorts of random meme decks for fun, and I don't care about aggro in particular. Metas that don't have any aggro to keep control in check are just as boring as metas that are full aggro.
Nah, there is nothing wrong or scammy with aggro archetype. It keeps combo and greedy decks in check. Moreover depending on the deck it can be very satisfying to crush them.
What i do hate though is aggro players themselves not their decks. They constandly pollute casual and they don't shut up about it. Constand spamming, roping before lethals and so many friends requests. Just at the end of the last month, i played against a even pally while i was experimenting with quest healadin for the lols. After beating me he tried to add me 6 times! 6! In the end in order to stop spamming requests i accepted him.He was a rank 12 nobody while i was at the time 350 legend and he said something like this''Get rekt faggot, easy lol'' then instandly deleted me.
You might say this is a single accurance but nope. It has happend at least 15 times in the 5 years i play hearthstone and all them were aggro players in casual.
Aggro decks= Perfectly valid and necessary strategy

You haven't played aggro decks (at least well enough to be considered good at them) and it really shows as you have a limited understanding of the playstyle and what service the decks provide to the meta.
While aggro decks are certainly easier to achieve a 50% winrate with, if you want to have a 60%+ winrate with them you have to be a skilled player. Vomiting your entire hand on board is how you lose. Not trading and just going face is how you lose. Taking too many efficient trades is how you lose. You grossly underestimate the skill it takes to play aggressive decks at high ranks at a competitive standard.
Moving on to why such decks are needed, well they keep control decks in check and stop them from running every big minion and huge spell under the sun. If there weren't any aggro decks, see how much fun the game would be when matches last 30-40mins. My guess is not very.
Anyway I've said my piece. I recommend you trying to play an aggro deck at Legend or at the very least rank 5 and see how far you get by vomiting your hand on the board, then maybe you'll see that actually trying to engage in a playstyle will give you a more solid foundation to express a valid opinion rather than spouting nonsense with limited understanding of function.
As much as I would want to, I categorically cannot be any nicer about this.

hmm. i play aggro when its the only deck that I can use to complete dailies. Such as paladin right now.
You can see the similarity i made towards aggro though right?
I can see you used two situations that are very different from each other to try and justify your rant for why not playing aggro except for daily quests must make you a superior player. But I don't agree with your assessment of this type of deck at all. If you need a reason, please reference every other comment made so far.
I hate the pedestal control players place themselves upon: "I make big decisions every game and that makes me skilled. Even a monkey can reach legend with aggro decks. But I am rank 20 because I choose not to play aggro"
Aggro decks are not autopilot decks. They might seem that when 'control players has four 8-drops in their mulligan: "buhu! He didn't have make any major decisions."
Get off your high horse and be glad aggro decks keep combo in place. Otherwise you could whine about getting infinite fire balls to your face instead.

Aggro might be needed, but the majority of those who plays it is not. I don't have any problem with facing aggro as long as they play full out, conceding turn 5-6 because of a biard clear or a couple of taunts blicking the initial assault doest allow me to play me deck at all. But all I'm up against are aggro or cubelock and it is fucking boring.
This meta have made me only complete quests in casual besides the first 5 ranked wins for the initial rewards. Blizzard need a much larger change than the upcomming nerf if they want to change this stale state the game is i right now.
Its almost like the previous brawl, radiant and mind blast, or mana wyrm arcane missiles. 20 out of 30 games were mage, 6 priests and an occational call to arms knife juggler pala. Predictable that people will stick to the most mindless kinds of decks available (besides the bug exploiting low lifes).

That sounds so damn annoying! I reject most friend invites for this reason, and the second invite I just leave unanswered until the next day.
Taking the Op’s analogy, I woild have said that the more cowardly way of fighting would be to sit behind a row of big guys who block and fight for you. 😊
But this is just a game and the analogy seems little more than a means to slate aggro players. Lets face it: as much as we all like to pretend (me included) that our most personally hated playstyle requires the minimum skill / effort / IQ etc, the truth is that every archetype requires some thought and skill to do well with. Otherwise if a deck was an autowin then everyone would only ever use that.
