After watching this video, where Kripp's saltiness level is over nine thousand, I was wondering, my beloved people of Hearthpwn, what do you think about 100% obvious snipers? Do you think Blizzard should do something about this? Do you think it's perfectly fine for you and should be encouraged? Or, since it's not your problem, you don't give a shit about it?
Long live to the sniper guild or is it time to ban most of them once and for all???
if blizzard took so long for the nerfs, what makes you think that they "have the time" for the creation and maintenance of a "sniper ban discussion" thread on their website?‘
Also, it is a well known fact that if you are streaming, you will get snipers, and 9000 is just normal salt level for kripp
On the same hand, Blizzard does not really intervene with anything about player behavior. Unless it is an actual exploit, they don't do much.
I don't care that much about the topic since I never cared much about streamers at all. Still, it is probably the dirtiest tactic that is technically allowed in HS.

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
There's a whole lot of data gathering that goes into nerfing a card, not so much for spotting one of these guys. They have also have a ban system implemented already, so I don't see how the two are related at all.
As Kripp said, you can't do anything again these users other than reporting them to Blizzard and hoping they actually do something. But as Kripp also stated they can continue to create multiple accounts and continue doing the same thing over and over again.
So the only option for streamers is either to no stream or to have the stream delayed which if they don't want to do it's on them.

whatever your opinion; they cheat out streaming players with deliberate intent of ruining their game. Any other developer/publisher/stream service would've perma banned them. But hey, we're talking about Blizzard and HS team here..
I guarantee Kripp doesn't hate the snipers as much as he pretends to. It gets more people excited to watch his streams and more money for him. They love to see salty kripp and pour in the donations when they get what they want. I wouldn't be surprised if the snipers were his friends who pop up when there is a lull in the stream.
If he hated them that badly he could play in appear offline mode (in case someone on his friend list is a spy) and put a random smallish delay on his stream. There, no more snipers.
Don t want to get snipe ? don t stream simple as that .
With that mentality, you're just like people who say "well she shouldn't wear a shirt that shows her cleavage and she won't get harassed". Stupidity at it's finest.
Anyways, It's Kripp's lively hood and job. It's obviously harassment and should be treated as such. Unfortunately not much can be done otherwise.
Don t want to get snipe ? don t stream simple as that .
Don't want to get banned? Don't cheat. It's also as simple as that.
I do think Blizzard should step in and ban these people. I mean how many people have these high profile streamers attracted to their game? It's free promotion and good business to have popular personalities like Kripp around and happy. That doesn't mean they should balance the game around their complaints, but banning obvious cheaters should be a thing.
Also I want to note that arena is technically not a free game mode. Blizzard is basically okaying cheating in all forms by letting this slide. That does not instill confidence in me as a consumer.

The main reason they are not outright banned is because Twitch has safeguard against snipers. You can stream with a delay. Kripp in order to not lose on revenue but also to keep the limited conversation going on with his chat is not using those safeguards.
That is his decision. The remedy is there he just chooses not to take it. Professional players and tournaments streams always run with a delay because getting high ladder finished affects their paycheck. If kripp really is so bothered by it he can just put on a delay.

Whilst I agree that streaming your gameplay doesn't mean that you should have to deal with sniping, the fact remains that that doesn't mean it isn't still going to happen, and it's the streamer's choice to either accept that or not. If this sort of thing was happening during an official tournament event or something like that - particularly if an actual material prize was on the line - then it would be another matter entirely. But this is a guy playing casually at home in a manner that invites thousands of people to come watch every last little thing he does. It's not like Kripp getting sniped affects his income as a streamer/YouTuber at all anyway. Hell, you could argue he actually benefits from it somewhat by being able to make videos such as this one. He's well aware that people love to come watch him be miserable/salty. You could argue that he's in no position to criticise the actions of these snipers when he's profiting off of them.
Just some food for thought. Disclaimer: I love Kripp. Just trying not to be biased about this, is all.
While understandably it doesn't necessarily affect anything of monetary value, it does affect other aspects. Such as his win rate and ranking on arena. To some that is actually important. He's well aware of the people that enjoy the salt, however things like this can get a bit much. To a point that it's not even enjoyable watching for salt. He's definitely in a position to be able to criticize this because it's blatant harassment when there's a sniper guild purposely looking to cheat him out of wins. Whether he makes money off it or not. It's like saying a stripper should be okay with being harassed due to the nature of their job. No. It's still wrong.
Just to add, I think in general it's fine to try and queue in to your favorite streamer so you can play against them and try to beat them. The only problem part is looking at their cards. If you just queue-snipe and not card-snipe I think it's perfectly fine. For the card part he also has that overlay he never seems to use anymore even when it's obvious he's being sniped.
Sniping isn't a nice thing, but they can only do it if you actually stream live.
Kripp makes hundrets of thousands of dollars with his streams and a big part of it is probably that he's constantly salty - even a proper topdecked card is enough for him to hold a little qq-speech ;)
He could add a 5-10 minute delay to his arena games if he's seriously troubled by snipes (like any professional player does when they stream those tournament games that are played from their home-pc), especially if he got trouble with one group of players "several times per day - every single day - not counting the random guys".

Why is it even possible to snipe someone at all? They should change the way that matchmaking works. I don't quite get why it's dependent upon when you hit the button or whatever.
Why should (or would) Blizzard do anything to prevent snipers?
If you don't want to be sniped,
(a), don't choose to make your living playing a game on a live stream (b) use the tools provided by Twitch (delay, ect) to deal with the problem yourself
Blizzard has ZERO responsibility in this. If any third party does, it would be Twitch. But the main responsibility lies with the streamer.

On one hand, it's Arena, so no one truly cares.
On the same hand, Blizzard does not really intervene with anything about player behavior. Unless it is an actual exploit, they don't do much.

It's blatant harassment and cheating. They should be banned for certain.

this new grown up kripp is really depressing...
They can easily solve this by amending the toc to ban streaming outside of authorized blizzard events. No more snipers.
