So, apparently I met my doppelganger or something on the ladder, because he had the same legend rank I did. This should not be possible from what I understand of how the ranking works. Anyone know why this happened?

People constantly saying that despite recent evidence is getting annoying. They nerfed patches and raza right before rotation. They’re about to nerf naga sea witch. Wild mode is considered, just less because the higher power level and ridiculous amount of synergies is part of the appeal to the wild playerbase.
On a serious note though it happens all the time. Eon and i have Shared Rank 6 Shackdaddy shared rank 11 Xuwang shared 42. Not sure how its possible though but it happen rather often. But nice Reno lock deck :3 And good luck on top 100

@kallevonbach I won that game. I've got over 70% vs paladins with that deck. Most aggro paladins (well, aggro players in general) play very poorly; it's a favoured matchup for me still, but if they played properly, it sure wouldn't be as high. The worst matchups for my renolock are naga giants (praise the nerf... naga should've been just reverted, but I'll take it), togwaggle druid, quest rogue, mill rogue (if they have gang up I'm usually screwed; if they don't I can usually outplay them) and exodia mage/paladin, though I haven't seen those two in a long time.
@shockii412: Thanks. I won't be trying for top 100, though. Before the rank changes, I was a 'rank 5 for chest and then don't care' type of person (I like to play arena more than ranked usually, but lately arena's less fun due to the bucket system screwing RNG) and had only been legend twice before that, once in about season 8 and once 2 years after that, both times around Christmas when I had time off work. My first time legend (December of 1st Hearthstone year) I ended around ~1500 I think, screwing around once I'd gotten there. The other time I got rank 20 in wild; I think that was January 2017. Last season I was ~600 or so; those are the only times I've bothered. Now that the X to 5 grind is essentially not there anymore, the time factor is much less of concern
But yeah, I guess maybe there was no player at 152 due to tied MMR? I really have no idea, lol. I just thought it was pretty weird, as I've never seen that happen before. I always assumed that if I was rank 151, for example, that there were at least 151 players at legend, and that they occupied every number up to 151.

It's the end of the world as we know it...
Nice deck
It's wild so even blizzard doesn't care.
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.

Probably you got exactly the same mmr in this situation so the guy below both od you probably has rank 153
