Been thinking about cube lock and taunt Druid problem in current meta and any possible solutions. And you knowcwhat? You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Graveyard would have been good solution. Every minion can be summoned from the graveyard only once unless there are some special effects. And cards that discard your graveyard. And presence of the graveyard could create additional interesting mechanics.
Although a graveyard would be amazing to have in the game, Hearthstone is built around the idea of quick, crazy games. I highly doubt we'll ever see the mechanic introduced into the game.
There's a pool that your destroyed minions go into that can be resurrected by various effects, how is that different from a Magic style graveyard? There's no way to interact with your opponent's graveyard but that would suck anyway, some crappy tech card that hoses a strategy is not fun gameplay. And Cubelock just got hit by a bunch of nerfs, Taunt Druid is just a solid midrange/control deck, these decks don't seem like a huge problem to me.
Also, "Lack of basic mechanics?" is a pretty awful thread title for "here's something specific that I want but isn't in the game."
I personally dont like the idea of Graveyard for HS, i dont think it fits the game, but i understand it's a relatively common thing in other card games and majority of ppl would probably be happy if HS had it too, but im glad it aint here.

Discard and other 'complicated' mechanics will never work in Hearthstone cos there's no grave
There is a graveyard. It's WHY you can resurrect dead cards. It's just not given the term. Instead blizzard uses "if they died this game." There's also separate yards for each player, thus why Anyfin worked differently from Guldan DK.
What we don't have isn't 'basic mechanics' It's certain 'graveyard' mechanics, such as being able to see the cards that died. Which is something we could honestly use.
We also don't have a 'pick a card from the graveyard' mechanic but given that we never have a tutor card that does that with the deck I doubt we'll get that here. I think at first it was due to UI issues (how to have a person easily go through their deck to find a card) and now it's turned into a design feature as our tutor cards force players to design a deck to abuse the mechanic.
Note physical card games would've had Spiteful read as "choose a spell from your deck, summon an equal mana card to that spell. Shuffle your deck" or the like which would be even worse of a nightmare to what we have now.
as far as missing features..I'm not sure adding a 'remove card from yard whensummoned' will fix anything we don't already have fixes for. Most times when someone resummons the minion it's because it's dead again, so it's back in the yard. As far as the "kill, summon, kill, summon 2 more" element, that's seen as a cool feature it seems now. It doesn't act like a physical graveyard. It doesn't have to so long as it works for us. And they have the "different minion" tag used in the Priest's spellstone if they want to keep a lid on it.
So beyond trying to make the yard work like other games for...reasons.... I'm not sure we need to add that mechanic.
As far as removing cards from the yard, I'm sure that's something that'll be added once they figure out something cool to do with it. Simply having a card delete graveyard cards would be a way to make a 'res hate' tech card.. a REALLY bad one that basically turns your deck into one that wins vs any graveyard user and loses to everyone else.
A card that eats the yard would be interesting, but then, why not just do a "do X for every Y that died this game", especially since it means you have a reason to actually have 2 of them?
Hearthstone really is just a childsgame compared with yugioh duel links
Which is similar to comparing a sedan to a sports car. It goes beyond which is better and more about apples and oranges. Hearthstone is made to be accessible and reachable by those who don't normally play card games.
Which is actually a good point though. Adding mechanics has to be done very carefully and to avoid adding complexity for the sake of complexity, or a feature just to have it in.
Though I do think we are at the point when we need to consider a method to actually SEE the graveyard at this point. It's actually working against accessibility to demand the player to remember how many of each card died in a particular game.
Though I'm guessing the #1 reason why we don't have a visible yard is the same reason why we can't see our deck: UI
That is, how do you actually present 30 cards on the screen in a format that lets you easily tell what's in there without roping out your turns? While the method that deck trackers do it probably work for that, I'm guessing it's not really polished enough to be put in the game proper. I can imagine processing issues also come into play and, OMG how to do it for mobile clients?

what do you think?
Honestly not a bad idea. It would also add more complexity to the game.

I don't think there was ever any post from Blizzard regarding the graveyard. So if there ever going to be one it's gonna be very far from now.
Yeah! it would be great if they add a graveyard in hearthstone. We can have some new mechanics and a little complexity in games.

I like the idea of Graveyard being introduced to the game. It'll be more immersive.

The game lacks answers its as simple as that, there is a severe lack of silences or hard removals under some conditions like Execution
pretty sure a cubelock can handle 1 or 2 silences or removals when he has about 8 death rattles or more to play with
so basically u want it to be yugioh
Well yeah i want it to be a good card game lol.
then again blizzard prefers money so whatever
