When Ben Brode and Hamilton Chu exited the development team, my initial reaction was one of concern for the game and its future. Chu, especially, exited under mysterious circumstance with a cryptic tweet in the dead of night. Now, a few weeks later, we have some very pragmatic, sensible nerfs that are not only announced in an expedited fashion but ones that seem to address, in a fair manner, the broken 'I win' cards plaguing the standard and wild meta. Is it possible that the exit of either of these individuals portends a new era in the game, similar to the old days when it seemed to be more about the play and less about the business aspect? I have no evidence, of course, but they leave, and it seems the game heads in a better direction. Coincidence or causality?

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Maybe the other members of Team 5 are doing this on purpose, trying to do the right things just to defame Ben Brode and Hamilton Chu, making us believe that they were to blame for the bad balance of the game. You never know my friend, some people are very twisted... ;)
The nerfs imho are pretty lazy and bad in most cases, but at last Team 5 have done something for long time issues like NSW. In the end I don't think that BB or Chue have nothing to do with this nerfs, just coincidence of timing.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
The nerfs announced for the most part indicated the exact same "balance" philosophy is still being adhered to, where they mostly just tweak mana cost by 1 and hope it works out instead of addressing the root problem. In my opinion if you are hoping for the game to return to what it used to be, you will be sorely disappointed.
I think it has to do with a shrinking playerbase, people are just sick and tired of warlocks and paladins everywhere. They have been faster with nerfs now than when Hearthstone was brand new. But they still need bigger nerfs, Paladin sunkeeper and warlock DK escaped nerfs.

I think it's more a coincidence. But there is bound to be a change in direction from whomever is running it now.
OR maybe T5 finally understood that they need to balance the game a bit sooner.
