The simple problem to fix net decking is just to print more good cards and/or synergies. It's not that people only want to play 5 decks it's more that with the collection of cards we have to work with there only are about 5 decks you can even make that are really strong because there are so many cards in the game that are obviously bad or too situational to be useful.
Never said the only point to play is to win, I said that players LIKE to win. Players aren't unfeeling, they speak out and call for changes just like you are. You have to create a valid -playing field where balance and enjoyable gameplay can have an equilibrium.
Moral of the story? Saying that being competitive and playing to win makes you a garbage human being? In what world do you live in? Sorry that you don't enjoy a competitive setting, but that doesn't mean that everyone hates it.
You Literally just stated the problem. Casual is competitive. Casual shouldn’t be competitive, that’s what ranked should be for. if I’m in the mood for competitive, I should be enticed to play ranked. If I’m in the mood for fun, it should be enticed to play brawl or a FIXED CASUAL SYSTEM.

Agreed 200%. They print cards they KNOW won't be viable but give more ammo for the cancer-style decks that nobody but the try-hards like.
Stupid thread- if people want a mode where they face only weak opponents, it already exists - it's called practice.
It goes like this:
I want a mode where I can play wacky fun decks! You can play them in any constructed mode. But I want to win too, not lose to netdecks! You want a mode where you win with a non-competitive deck? Then your problem is you.

If the AI played like an actual human, then it might be fun. But they don't. The innkeeper is more retarded than a player stuck at rank 25 playing even paladin.
Yo.. shuuuut uuuup bro. You contribute jack to this community by being an a**.
and people crying and bitching all around this site contribute so much more right? nah, i'll take being an ass any time of the week instead of bitching. this place is full of childish people(or actual kids) that feel so entitled to everything being the way they want it to be. here this guy is bitching about casual, a mode with no ranks, no meaningful rewards etc. And cries about netdecks. There are so many more card games out there, he can go play them instead if he doesnt like this one. He will not be missed. Thank god i didnt even read past the title, because from other comments the solutions he proposed must be fucking idiotic.
Anyway i explained to you why i am trolling/flaming (dont even know what its called) and i wont stop doing it because people are asking for it everywhere in this site. Have fun, like i will continue doing with guys like these :D
Might as well not have a forum or start any discussions. CLOSE HEARTHPWN DOWN GUYS! who cares about input if the only thing that matters is CRAAAANNKING DAT RANKKK.
or you know, people stop bitching about every single thing they dont like. i dont like losing to any class either but i never created a salty thread.
i dont even know what you are trying to say with that "CRAAAANNKING DAT RANKKK". must be something primitive or the exact opposite. is it the new cool thing to say in this community? or are you acting like an ape flailing his arms around aimlessly?
It wasn’t really intended to be a salty thread. The intention is really to see how other people also feel about the casual mode and open discussion. I have my salty opinions sure, but it’s just that, an opinion. Plus you’re bitching about my opinion so is like the same thing as me b***hing about casual in a sense.

It is, by nature, a COMPETITIVE card game. ANY mode will be competitive. People aren't playing just to lose. In casual, you get no negative effect for losing, so concede if you see a deck you don't want to play against.
I play this game only for doing quest because of this. Too many people says “play casual if you dont like netdecking”, i m sure they only play ranked cause there is no difference.
Casual mode should not give 10 gold reward for every 3 win. That will fix it. Player will go there only for trying decks and there wont be any aggro players.
Sorry for my fail English its not my main tongue ^^
I propose a council of 9 independent random casual players, kind of like the supreme court, where they determine whether a deck is too competitive for casual mode. If a player is deemed a tryhard, they take a loss and can't play casual again for 24 hours.

I get that it's annoying at times to play against meta decks, but sometimes people want to practice without risking their stars. If letting a player practice isn't good enough, then just remember that it's their collection that they've spent their money/time on and let them just be. I think the best way to address this is just by improving the innkeeper AI so that it's a legitimate opponent to practice against.

i Just think that if you’re optimizing your deck to win you should just go play ranked. If you’re optimizing it for fun (not win as much but obviously you’re still trying to win), then it should be casual. I don’t mind losing to some jank I’ve never seen before in casual but I get pissed when I just see and Aggro Mage/pally/shammy or cubelock/kingsbane in this mode. Just get to legend in ranked If you're trying so hard to win already!
Sigh look its gonna happen with randos who wanna win its just how it works...
I played MTG and Yugioh for YEARS and almost never played meta decks until decent online ways to play sprung up..why? cause I mostly played with my friends, I have NEVER went into a tournament in my life nor have I/Do I plan to.
You see in Hearthstone there's this nifty thing to play with friends that still completes quests if you really wanna play ultra casual hearthstone why not create a discord or something with like minded people and play decks with them Blizzard isn't going to fix that nor is there some weird way to stop people if they wanted to
Hell these days I mostly play stupid decks with my wife to complete quests and have a little fun when I'm not trying to be super serial
Using casual as practice for your deck is only valid if you assume everyone is going to also be playing top meta decks. It's a self-perpetuating thing. You all treat it as practice mode but it's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be casual mode.
You're unimportant. The sooner you become aware of that, the sooner will you think twice before making a thread where you're demanding that something is done because you're not having fun. Even if, by some divine miracle, this is made possible you will still find something else to cry about.
Maybe the best fix would be a totally new mode, where you can define sets that are „legal“, e.g. basic + classic only or „all expansions till Naxx“ or something like that. Maybe even an open mix of expansions (e.g. only Classic + Frozen Throne) ... I would love such a mode.
I know this cannot fix the issue due to not being able to find a suitable opponent in time, but maybe this would be something for the new „tournament mode“...

Unpopular opinion: posts like this contribute even less than the posts complaining about things.
Every single type of game mode you come up with is going to have meta decks. You can’t stop the fact that to most people, the best way to have fun is to win.
Step 2: fire everyone who made those cards and hire people who THOROUGHLY test cards before printing them.
Would you expect to be fired from your job if you did a couple of things wrong or that didn't succeed? Why call for devs to be fired, most of the cards they release aren't a problem. There's no pleasing people like you and you'll find cards to complain about no matter what.
Have you never worked before? Of course you can get fired if you fail at your job. People have gotten fired for far less. If you think I'm the only one complaining about how they care more about selling expansions than making a good game, you clearly haven't been here long.
Wow at a for profit company they care about selling stuff

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Would a casual version of arena cut it?
