So I feel like this should not happen at all....I keep telling myself after I silence it, that thing is done for, no big deal, and yet again it gets cubed and summons taunts.. why would it summon taunts if its silenced.
If you are asking why the cube resummons void lords who have taunt, then it is because the cube summons new void lords, not the one it killed. Creatures that are buffed or debuffed don't keep their effects when summoned back with cube.
I feel like thats counter productive then to even silence it...obviously silence it regardless so you can attack but whats the point if they will just resummon them anyways??? Why have silence if it doesn't silence.
Do people not run hard removal in their decks anymore? The problem is evident and the solutions are there. Just another salty meta slave netdecker complaining about a meta they don't understand and can't break.

Hey all F2P players out there! Try out my 100% free deck before trying to call this game pay to win!!!
Odd Paladin in Standard is more vulnerable than it seemed at first: you have no way to protect the dudes against aoe, and you cannot summon them fast enough to buff them against big taunts.
Imo, it stands some chances only in Wild.
Anyway, the point is that if you let them survive after silencing the Voidlord, it simply means that your Aggro plan failed, you were not fast enough.
By what do you mean by removal? Is silence not a form of removal? If not then please elaborate instead of saying half assed words.
Whats the point in silencing a minion if you know that their entire deck is built around the cube itself and not whatever it targets. "I thought that I could just silence it" when this is exactly what cube decks hope to achieve, baiting out the silence.

That is why I posted on this forum to know why I shouldn't use silence on Voidlord when it doesn't matter if he will use cube anyway. I now know more than I did yesterday.
Yeah it SUCKS when this kind of thing happens. I was playing against a hunter yesterday and he threw out one of those bears that can be up to 3/12 with taunt. I played a silence and then went face with the rest of my minions. Next turn he cubes the bear I silenced and then plays a 1 or 2 mana spell that triggers deathrattles and next thing I know he has TWO 3/12 taunt bears AND STILL HAS THE CUBE! I'd NEVER seen that deck before but MAN was I salty!
It's unfortunately because of the way "copy" works. Unless otherwise stated, a "copy" means "full, unaffected version with original stats." Any modifiers ("1/1 copy" or "copy with 1 health remaining") apply to that definition as a buff or debuff.

If it doesn't silence? WTF are you on about? Cube destroys the minion and summons two copies of it. Whenever a minion dies it loses any an all effects and when it is summoned again it is a new copy. That is how has always worked with everything from ressurect and n'zoth to guldan. It doesn't work like Faceless Manipulator because Cube isn't copying the minion itself but it's summoning new ones.
As for the reason to run silence, that is to shut down the voidlord's taunt and deathrattle and that is exactly what it does. It gives you a turn to punch the hero and ignore the voidlord.
Cube spits out two new minions, the original was silenced. This is true for any other minion as well that gets summoned, like from Resurrect. Also, minions are NEVER summoned silenced, I don't think there is ever a situation where that could happen (currently); it must be from an outside effect.
To answer another one of your questions: No, silence is not removal. Does it remove the minion? No, it is not removal. It's more akin to a buff, albeit a negative buff in most cases.
I'll also leave you with a pointer. HOLD YOUR SILENCE FOR THE CUBE ITSELF. You are literally playing into their game plan by silencing the minion and not killing it. Only use the silence on the Voidlord if you plan on also killing it immediately.

Thread has been cleaned up. OP asked a simple question, answer it plainly or don't post.
I disagree. He starts the thread asking about mechanics of resummoning dead minions and why they aren't still silenced and then backpedals to say that he now understands he shouldn't use silence on a voidlord because it will resummon them anyway? Like what. This question is anything but simple. It's convoluted to the point where silencing the voidlord to get damage through, as stated by the op isn't even the answer and has now boiled down to Mr Shmoove complaining about cube as well. This entire thread is nonsense and I don't think anyone knows what op is going on about.
Silence is a situational tool, that is all there is to it. The takeaway op say he has is that silencing voidlord is incorrect but he is wrong because sometimes it is correct and saving silence for cube is pointless because darkpact is a card. So what was the point other than op doesn't know how to play hearthstone and continues to not know how to play hearthstone?

I'm running Odd Pally...I got to rank 5, after reset i'm rank 9 and every 5 games I see 4 of them cubelock.
Cubelock is 80% of hearthstone for me.
Why not 5 save the silence for the inevitable cube?

If you don't want to see any netdecks then you should not be on this site AT ALL.
