It doesn't make sense to me why hearthstone doesn't have Monk as a class now that it's been a part of the WoW universe for about 4 years now. Unless the developers are dead set on only having a 9 class system it seems like a no brainer to me to add new classes every few years. The addition of the Death Knight cards and new shaman hero card are a good direction. But why not a whole new class? Maybe I can't see the bigger picture if there is one but I'm just curious.
if there'll ever be a new class, it basically needs an entire expansion just for that + balancing something completely new is gonna be a nightmare and needs many attempts to get right. if death knight wasn't a new class, then i don't see anything else new pop up :((
With the introduction of Hero cards, I could see Team 5 finding a creative way of making a "new" class. Like an Hero that replaces your hand and deck with new cards that are from the specific class.
The way you make this happen is to have a rotating CORE (classic) Set. Every year or two years you mess around with the core set, send stuff to hall of fame, bring stuff BACK from the hall of fame, add NEW CORE CARDS. Or even add a whole new class. Sure the class would be underpowered in wild, but.. well damn its wild after all. You would want to add a new class at the beginning of a new year when there are only 4 expansions active in standard AND with my suggestion, a new classic set rotated in as well.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
Google search: Is Hearthstone free to play?
Imo its gonna be really hard to add the classes, because you will:
1. Add cards to classic and basic sets, and quite a lot of them
2. Add cards to previous expansions, if they want the new class to see any play
*cluck*

Hearthstone will vanish in 2 years if they won't do a complete new overhaul.
The game becomes boring and will die if this billion dollar compant won't come out of this dangerous and comfortable seat.
They made 3 expansion ahead as ben brode said.
And this is a problem.
