Will there be any sort of off-line play, such as LAN or playing this game if you are let's say on a plane and you want to play Hearthstone. Will you be able to play against those AI's hopefully.
LAN play I've not heard about, and I don't think it's on the list for things they want to do. There *will* be AI's to play with. Not sure what will be available offline though. I vaguely remember devs using the term in interviews, but no specifics about what's available and what is not.

Currently the Hearthstone client requires you to be authenticated to Battle.Net in order to get anywhere past the launch screen. My money would be on having no offline play available for Hearthstone at release. They do want to shape the game based on player feedback though, so it's quite possible some sort of offline vs ai mode will be made available in the future.
I figure it mean if the company doesn't have much to do in the future, *which it probably is filled to their neck with things like balances and such* it would be nice that there would be something similar to warcraft 3? I don't know but I my self don't have an iPad, but still wondering if i was to use it on my laptop I can play around, i think it would be a great contribution towards Hearthstone if they could add that and would make this game much more desirable to others who do not have much fortune and can have Internet everywhere they go. No idea how they could do it just saying its not a bad idea :P
even if there was offline play against ai it wouldn't be the same as playing vs a player. If there was a campaign or sth to do single player it would make more sense to make offline mode.

Let me change your mind
I'd say one of the reasons they want to keep it online, is because they don't want anyone to hack cards for their account.
ah didn't thnik of that. you're right and not just indevidual hacks but entire hacked game copies could be piratized and sold.
