I did not purchase the 70 pack set because I'm not made of money. I have enough gold for 21 packs and have 4 packs loaded from the event. Plus around 6000 dust ready to go. Also going to save my quests for the next couple days as quests are going to be easier with better rewards once WW drops.
I definitely want a Baku and Shudderwock, maybe a Genn Graymane. My understanding is you get 1 class legendary to start and another within the first 10 packs, before going to pity timer rates.
It seems to me that by crafting the legendaries that I know I want before opening my packs is better than opening then crafting. What do you guys think? It's been a while since I've taken a statistics class haha
I'd say just wait till after you open the packs, small chance you end up getting the legendary you want from the packs and go right into the deck you are thinking of. Can save that extra dust for a deck you'd like to play after a week or so when everything settles out.
Definitely not, if you craft all the legendaries you want before you open your packs, you'll open the legendaries you DON'T want. If you don't open them, go ahead and craft.
Also, I'd question your logic about waiting for your quests.. .the gold value will be higher afterwards (for the worst ones) , but you'll lose the bonus free pack. If you're on a budget it'll be maybe 10 less gold if the quest is a 40g (same if its higher) but 100g more worth of packs (albeit random packs rather than necessarily Witchwood). For me I'm doing every quest I get ASAP

I agree with this, and I'd like to point out that Blizzard has made a point to stress that you should make sure your quest log is empty for launch day. There should be 3 fresh quests waiting for you (one for the new hero, and likely a couple for packs). Don't quote me for sure, but from the sounds of things, I'd bet on it.

I think that would be wise to wait a bit and see what legendaries are REALLY a must craft if you are on a budget.
Don´t get me wrong but sometimes, the most hyped legendaries, ending uyp to be the worts ones
You should craft golden copies of legendaries you for sure want, before opening packs, if you want normal versions, it makes no sense to craft first.

In your case, don't craft any legendary until the meta settle(wait at least 3 week, I think).

what sort of logic is this
No man, open packs first, then craft what you didnt get but do want. The only order that makes sense.
I would craft them after opening the packs personally.
Of course not you can get them from the packs
Don't mind me just passing by
If you are on a budget (you are) :
1. Open packs
2. Wait 2-4 weeks
3. Craft stuff
Otherwise you lose out
